21 | Which Books Which Journeys? | Gal 2:1 | tumbleweed | 206807
Steve I checked out the link, thank you for that. I found out a couple of things that might interest you by checking the link against information in the NASB introductions to books: According to the link Paul wrote Hebrews and the link bases this off Hebrews 10:34 which they say says, "ye had compassion of me in my bonds". The NASB says "For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfullly the seizure of your property". And has Hebrews as being written in 70 AD instead of 64-65 AD. The link leaves out Titus as one of four prison letters. The NASB lists Galatians as being written as 50 AD in the NASB Giant Print Edition page 1622. Then it list Galatians as being possibly written in 48-49 Ad on page 1650, while listing 1 Thessalonians as being written in 51 AD stating that 1 Thessalonians was written first by Paul. Very strange indeed. It is hard to put together the dates of what was written with when it was written in a chart. I have tried to do this several times and had to stop because there is so little accurate information about the real dates of the journeys. Thanks for the help. tumbleweed, God's Own |

23 | Four Missionary Journeys? | 2 Tim 1:1 | tumbleweed | 206805
Dear Steve The NASB says that first Paul went to prison in Rome and that after he went on the fourth missionary journey. According to what you are saying, some see the trip to Rome through Miletus as the fourth missionary journey? So then the journey to Miletus took place before the first Roman prison sentence. Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Titus were written by Paul while he served this first prison sentence between 60 AD and 62 AD. 1 Timothy and Titus were written after he got out of prison in 64 AD and 66-68 AD before the next Roman prison sentence. The NASB introduction to 2 Timothy says as that it was written after the first Roman imprisonment on some kind of fourth journey. What you are saying is that some say that the fourth missionary journey may have happened while on the way to Rome the first time. That would perhaps date 2 Timothy before Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians, Titus, Philippians, and 1 Timothy. That is if I was to try to put the information of what you say some say together with the dates of the books written in prison and it doesn't quite work out. But if I divorce when 2 Timothy was written from the fourth missionary journey, then what you have said works out just fine as an answer to my question about there being three journeys instead of four. Now I am up in the air and am not too sure what to believe about if there were three or four missionary journeys. tumbleweed, God's Own |

24 | Timothy's Gifts and Title? | 1 Tim 1:18 | tumbleweed | 206802
Dear allen According to what you write me Timothy may have been an apostle. Steve wrote me he was an overseer by the church traditions. I guess then Timothy was definitely a minister, maybe an apostle, and maybe an overseer. Thank you. tumbleweed, God's Own |

29 | Four Missionary Journeys? | 2 Tim 1:1 | tumbleweed | 206756
Did Paul have three missionary journeys or four? I am confused because by NASB says in the introduction to 2 Timothy the following: Lockmand Foundation, NASB Giant Print Edition, page 1666, paragraph 1 - After Paul's release from prison in Rome in A.D. 62-63 and after his fourth missionary journey, during which he wrote 1 Timothy and Titus, he was again imprisoned in Rome under emporer Nero about A.D. 66-67. I only count three missionary journies in Acts and have heard that it is not true that Paul had four missionary journeys. What is correct and how do we know? tumbleweed, God's Own |
