22 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | remorse2 | 203728
The book of Galatians tells us to stop trying to be justified by law. Romans 11:1-6 Tells us it is grace that brought us into a saving knowledge of Christ 1Peter 1:2-3 Shows us it was through his mercy and grace that we have a reward in Heaven Romans 8:37-38 is the assurance that even though you are lead to be slaughtered God will not forsake you. To say that these scriptures support opposing arguments is tough. I would say these scriptures support different aspects of the Soverign Grace of our Lord. To sum up. Quit trying to be justified by law Grace is what saved you. Heaven is your reward. Nothing will seperate Gods hand upon you. |

23 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | remorse2 | 203713
Baptizim of the believer is because he/she would like to make an outward show of an inward comitment. The thief on the cross was not baptized yet he went to paradise. That is sufficient proof for baptisim not being necessary for salvation. We baptize out of obedience. The same reason we take comunion. It is for obedience. A new believer has turned from the old sinful life and has started a new life. They show the world this decision when they are Baptized. I believe that you get saved by repenting and believing. After all that is what Jesus said to do. Yet there was no work I did that earned me a spot in heaven. To the unbeliever I say repent and believe. To the believer I say you did nothing to earn salvation. God chose you out of His Grace. |

24 | Do you know of extrabiblical sources? | Gen 12:16 | remorse2 | 203704
My sin was sufficient to send me to hell. I repent of my sin because it has put emnity between me and my creator. I am full of remorse because my Savior had to die to pay for my sins. Yet I rejoice because he chose me to be one of his elect. I still sin because I am still human. I still repent of the sins I do comit. I am filled with remorse at the sight of the cross. I still rejoice that my savior lives. It is an interesting set of emotions. One to be happy your savior lives. Second to be sad because you sins where why he died I talk to him and worship him constantly. Personally I can't wait to see him face to face. But I have many more tasks on this earth to complete before that time comes. Does that help? |

25 | Do you know of extrabiblical sources? | Gen 12:16 | remorse2 | 203697
I think the answer is extrabiblical. I did not find the answer in scripture either. I heard a rumor that there were documents found that refer to the 10 kings that raided Sodom and Gamorah. I also heard there was a refrence in this document to Abraham and 300 of his companions rescuing Lot. I wonder if this document exists translated into english for us monolingual americans. I think it would shed some light on the culture of the day. E.G. the price of a princess or a haram girl. Repentent and Remorsefull for my Sin. |

26 | Was it normal to pay this for a commoner | Gen 12:16 | remorse2 | 203679
Pharoh paid a lot for Sari? Was it normal for the Pharoh to pay this much for a woman of her age? Does anyone have any archeology based refrence books I can look at that would show that this is normal? Personally I think he considered her a princess (Sari in hebrew means princess) and he wanted to pay the princess price for her.

28 | alcohol scripturally wrong? | Eph 5:18 | remorse2 | 203647
Clearly you should not get drunk. Romans 14:12-15 says any food or drink can be a stumbling block. If it causes your brother to stumble then don't do it. We need to help our brothers and sisters grow in the knowledge and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is no sacrifice to avoid drinking alcohol if it helps a brother grow. Please read the chapters in their entirity. |

32 | Which One IsThe Correct Way of Baptism? | 1 Cor 12:13 | remorse2 | 203568
The answer I give is a question. What is the purpose of the Baptism? What is the best way to glorify Christ? Do you have a place to be baptised and fully imersed? If I just give you the answer you will only get milk when you need meat and potatoes. It was my first self study as a Christian. I looked up every instance of Baptisim in scripture talked with the pastor who was going to baptise me and made a decision. Because I was in a military chapel I had my choice of the type of Baptism I would receive.

34 | Jesus's birth to ministry | Luke 2:30 | remorse2 | 203455
Jesus' importance could not diminish anymore than God's importance could diminish. To answer what I think is your question I would say that the knowledge of his existance was hidden or disguised. I say this because God sent a message to Joseph to leave. Also Joseph left in the night. My hypothosis is people leaving at night have something to hide. My conclusion is Joseph was hiding Jesus. Matt2:14. Of course the primary reason Jesus went to Egypt was to fulfill prophecy wether Joseph knew it or not. When Joseph returns he is still concerned for Jesus' life so he does not go back to Bethlehem he goes to Nazareth. Matt 2:22 Of course the primary reason was to fulfill prophecy. The primary reason Jesus went to Egypt and Nazareth was to fulfill scripture. But the result was He was hidden from those that wanted to take His life and from the general public. It is my assumption that a lot of people did not know where he was. They just knew He was delivered. |

35 | what are biblical principles | Bible general Archive 4 | remorse2 | 203453
Badgersam this is an excellent question. Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? Jesus himself answered it best Matthew 22:36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Well here is one way the above commandment shows itself in your life Galatians 5:18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things (AT)there is no law. Now it is impossible for you to be lead by the spirit unless you are a born again believer. Which leads brings me back to Jesus when he was asked what does it take to be born again. John 3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7"Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' Now to get the full understanding of the above quote please read John 3 completely. . I hope this has helped. The above scriptures have helped me. |
