21 | Where was Jesus during death? | Matt 12:40 | prayon | 175151
Greetins 6Bunkins and welcome to the forum! The bible is not specific about what Jesus was doing during those 3 days and nights. We do know that He went to paradise (Luk 23:43 Jesus said to him, "I can guarantee this truth: Today you will be with me in paradise."). In Rev 1:18 Jesus says "I was dead, but now I am alive forever. I have the keys of death and hell." It is assumed that He got these "keys" during those 3days and nights. The bible also states in Mat 12:40 that "Like Jonah, three days and nights in the fish's belly, the Son of Man will be gone three days and nights in a deep grave". Hope this helps some, prayon |

22 | Why did my mom die? | 1 Cor 2:9 | prayon | 175041
Greetings Vince, Some years ago I lost my best friend and her 5 year old son to a drunk driver. I was angry and suffered a long time because I just couldn't understand why she and her son died so young. One day God finally revealed this to me. He reminded me that He is omnipotent. He can see what lies ahead for each of us. He also reminded me that I did not know what pain and suffering would of laid ahead for her in her life that because of her death she is now spared of. As a nurse I will assume that there were medical problems that caused you to go home to live with her and that she was in the hospital for. Rest in the fact that she is now spared from any further physical suffering and she rests in the arms of Jesus where there is no suffering or pain but only pure joy. In every situation I always try to look for a blessing even when it seems that there are none. However, I have found that if I look hard enough there is always one there - there is one in this situation too. with Christ's love, prayon |

26 | WHO ARE THE 4 CREATURES | Rev 5:8 | prayon | 173547
Greetings tamisk, these 4 living creatures are the same living creatures referred to in Ez 1:5. They are angels, most likely the cherubs mentioned in Ez 10:1-22. The number 4 may represent the 4 corners of the earth implying that God's angels execute His commands everywhere. The different faces represent different aspects of Christ. The lion equals strength (lion of Judah), the ox diligent service (Christ as the servant), the human intelligence (perfect human) and the eagle divinity (Christ as the Son of God). hope this helps, prayon

33 | age of man | Gen 6:3 | prayon | 173234
Greetings corin, In Gen 1:6 God said "And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." A firmament is "firmament — an expanse - a beating out as a plate of metal: a name given to the atmosphere from its appearing to an observer to be the vault of heaven, supporting the weight of the watery clouds. By the creation of an atmosphere, the lighter parts of the waters which overspread the earth’s surface were drawn up and suspended in the visible heavens, while the larger and heavier mass remained below. The air was thus “in the midst of the waters,” that is, separated them; and this being the apparent use of it, is the only one mentioned, although the atmosphere serves other uses, as a medium of life and light." (James, Faucett and Brown commmentary) It is believed that this firmament kept out the harmful rays of the sun and other entities that would of aged man. Upon the flood the firmament was broken. prayon |

36 | ...the LORD blessed the sabbath ..holy" | Bible general Archive 3 | prayon | 172947
Greetings mbaska,I will leave doc to answer the question about labeling I will just say that I believe that the reason he referred you to the terms of use is because of the statement in your question ' "day was changed to Sunday" ... that is just a pure lie!! .. no Biblical proof .. don't go there ..' The wording is strong and some people can be offended by such a strong statement. We would love to answer your questions on the forum but please ask in a way as to not to offend any other member of the forum. Feel free to submit your question again stating in another manner such as Please Do not provide anything related to the "day was changed to Sunday" and omitting the personal opinions. Thanks and have a blessed day, prayon |

38 | GOD and Paul | 1 Cor 7:1 | prayon | 172929
Greetings corin, Paul had been speaking what the Lord revealed to him prior to this statement. This time however he states "I (not the Lord) say to the rest of you". The directions he was about to give Jesus had not spoken directly about or was there anything written in the scriptures that addressed the question he had been asked, However we need to remember that the Spirit lived in Paul and it would probably be a good assumption that he was speaking from divine inspiration (1Co 7:6 But I speak this according to permission, not according to commandment). Indeed marriage is a great blessing to mankind. Our nature is fleshly and marriage can protect us from the sins of lust and fornication - there lies part of the blessing! And No! NO! and NO again - our spirituality is not determined by our marital status. Hope this helps. prayon |

40 | what if i can't pay all of my tithes? | Mal 3:10 | prayon | 172770
Greetings vocab and welcome to the forum! I have been exactly where you are at. I used to be a single parent having to make it on my own. I would like to give you a few lessons I learned the hard way... First, when I didn't pay all my tithes what I was virtually saying was I need to keep some of this money to make ends meet because I don't think you can take care of it for me... When I paid my tithes with a joyful and trusting heart like the bible says I should I found that my checkbook was never in the negative even though my calculations said it should of been. I still don't know where the money came from but I always had money in there whenever I needed something. On the flip side if say my tithes were 300.00 dollars and I only put 200.00 in sometime during the month something would come up and take that other 100.00 plus some more from me - whether it was a doctors visit, a flat tire, a house repair or many other things. And this happened every time - you would of thought I would of learned my lesson after the first couple times wouldn't you.... Malachi 3:10 says, "Bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way," says the LORD of Armies. "See if I won't open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings. Whether I think I have enough or not I pay 10 percent on any money that comes to me whether it is income or not and I am a living testimony now that what He says about flooding you with blessings is true! Place your faith in Christ and His promises. prayon |
