21 | Creation, feminism, and equality. Oh my! | Gen 3:15 | phruubeljiie | 65921
The maddening thing about Revelations is that there are two women associated with the Dragon; Mary (symbolizes Jerusalem) and the woman who symbolizes Babylon. Of course, Babylon is greedy and desires physical finery like gold and silk and perfumes. However, her gender remains. So are women are just both ends of the spectrum, the absolute good and the absolute evil, or am I looking too far into this?
22 | I belive this inline with mt 13-37-38 | Matt 13:24 | phruubeljiie | 65915
Okay, you're the second person who corrected me on this; I threw in that bit about purgatory to be non-denominationally discriminant. Truth is my head's really spinning about how religion is changing from the literal translation of the bible to today's accepted versions, and the religious ed teachers I talk to about this just give some non-answer. Thanks for pointing out the passage in Luke, but I felt like since I was talking about the seed that died I had to adress death in my analogy. Chris |

HOLD the phone! But when it talks in Revelations about raising the dead up to heaven, where are the souls of the dead before they enter the Holy Kingdom of God?

God's word did not die, it's impossible to really kill anything that God creates since when we die we go to either Heaven, Hell or Purgatory... It's like that new practice of freezing bodies that are still alive, to be defrosted 50 years later. God's will is put into storage like some bibles sit on mantelpieces gathering dust. The seed is still perfectly able to be transplanted in better soil, like if the person who owned the bible on the mantelpiece dies, and that bible is sent to an estate sale. A missionary picks up that bible and ships it off to Zimbabwe or somewhere where that bible is a priceless treasure to a poor family.
25 | big-bang theory | Bible general Archive 1 | phruubeljiie | 65806
The big bang theory, in my opinion, is proof that God created the Universe. In summary, it goes like this- the universe is empty space. Science cannot prove God exists, so it drops the issue. All of a sudden, there's this huge flash of light (Genesis 1:3, "And God said, Let there be Light! And there was light) that science blames on helium exploding. Slowly (a day is like a thousand years to God, remember, so 'God created earth in Seven days' might be symbolic) and He slowly creates stars, planets, and eventually life. Science is humans' feeble ability to explain the unexplainable.
26 | What does it mean man is head of woman | Gen 1:27 | phruubeljiie | 65805
Hello Ames! I'm guessing that the man is responsible for making a living and making decisions that relate to the unity in marriage. After all, God talks about how in marriage a man and a woman become one. However, if God created women in his own image, too, it doesn't make sense for him to force a woman to be controlled by a man. Can you imagine what could have happened if Mother Teresa were married to a dominating Atheist husband? When it comes to the pair as a twosome the man makes decisions, but when it's a question of just one human and God the woman has a right to free will.
27 | Conversion or tolerance? | Matt 10:16 | phruubeljiie | 65799
Jesus talks to His disciples, and tells them he is sending them like lambs into a pack of wolves. Is that referring to those who don't believe in Him, like the Jews or the Hindu or the Buddhists? I have a few non-Christian friends... should I be trying to convert them or should I tolerate their religious freedom?
28 | When do Mark and Luke join Jesus? | Matt 10:2 | phruubeljiie | 65797
In Matthew 10:2 through 10:4, he names the twelve disciples of Jesus. Not shown above are Philip, Batholomew, Thomas, Matthew the tax collector, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Eager One, and Judas Iscariot. Where do Mark or Luke come in to the picture, since they were both divinely inspired to write for the Bible?
29 | Creation, feminism, and equality. Oh my! | Not Specified | phruubeljiie | 65793
In Genesis' first story of creation, God talked about how he created man in his image, and male and female he created them... but feminists talk about how the bible says that women are inferior to men. Could someone please clarify?

31 | attempt to merge philosophy, logic, and? | Gen 1:26 | phruubeljiie | 65646
Hello Pastor Glenn! I'm only an amateur at bible study, but here's my best guess: Granted, God is not bound by the laws of physics, the laws of physics are created and bound by God. However, we as humans must look at what our comparatively tiny minds can comprehend. For instance, if you dropped a rock and it went up or flew laterally instead of falling down, would you be confused or would you feel this is the work of God? Physics and logic are our attempt to predict how things will work, though of course God can go on manual override at any time. |
