21 | HOW COULD JESUS BE A DESCENDANT OF DAVID | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 39748
I think we should like Jesus, submit ourselves to Him. He does not call Himself the Father. He does not call Himself the Holy Spirit. We should belive Him when He speaks of them as separate persons. Other wise we are saying that Jesus is a liar. Jesus: I will pray to the Father that He will send the Holy Spirit" You: No, you will pray to yourself that you will send yourself. Who is right? Jesus is not the Father. Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. |

What you just wrote directly denies the word of Jesus. It also denies the words of the Father. look at John 1 :1 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was WITH God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.] 2. He was present originally WITH God. Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Lu 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. The Scripture is clear, Jesus is not the Father or the Holy Spirit. Mt 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 1 Cor 15:27 For He [the Father] has put all things in subjection under His [Christ's] feet. But when it says, All things are put in subjection [under Him], it is evident that He [Himself] is excepted Who does the subjecting of all things to Him. [Ps. 8:6.] 28 However, when everything is subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will also subject Himself to [the Father] Who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all [be everything to everyone, supreme, the indwelling and controlling factor of life]. |

Jesus is not God the Father. God the Father spoke while Jesus was on earth. Jesus talked to God the Father. Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as another person not Himself. Yes the Father has spoken to us through His son. He is not his son. his son is not his father. The Father said "This is my Son hear Him." You refuse to hear what Jesus said for your own theories. In other words you are disobeying God the Father. By your own words you deny everything Jesus said in John 14-17. He does not say I am the Father, He says "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me,at least let these works that I do in My Father's name convince you.] Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me. See, he is not speaking about himself John 14:26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. He is not speaking of the Holy Spirit as being himself. But you do not believe Him. Jesus was With the Father before he became a man. Jesus was with the Holy Spirit before He became a man. |

Hi, if I may, my wife and I have often been under attack with doubts about our salvation. I know the Bible says: "I know whom I have beleved and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." 2 Tim. 1:12 I do not have to be busy trying to keep my salvation for it is in His hands. I like the old hymn that goes: From whence this fear and unbelief, If God, my Father, put to grief His spotless Son for me? Can He, the righteous Judge of men, Comdemn me for that debt of sin Which, Lord, was charged to Thee? Complete atonementThou hast made, And to the utmost farthing paid Whate'er Thy people owed ; How, then can wrath on me take place, If sheltered in God's righteousness And sprinkled by Thy blood ? If Thou hast my discharge procured, And freely in my place endured The whole of wrath divine ; Payment God will not twice demand, First at my bleeding Surety's hand, And then again at mine. --- PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME --- Turn, then, my soul, unto thy rest; The merits of thy great High Priest Speak peace and libery ; Trust in His efficacious blood, Nor fear thy banishment from God, Since Jesus died for thee. Kept in Christ's love |

I am not sure I am saying this right, but here goes ... Just as we in 3 dimentions can see the beginning and ending of a line (2D) and every point (1D) along it, so God can see the beginning and the end, and every choice we make at one glance as it were. That is not to say that every move we make is fixed, but that God can see the full quantum possibilies of every action. Imagine a being of over a thousand dimentions, and then multiply that by another million and we won't begin to know the immensity of God. All we Know is what He has told us. John 20:31 But these are written (recorded) in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of God, and that through believing and cleaving to and trusting and relying upon Him you may have life through (in) His name [through Who He is]. [Ps. 2:7, 12.] |

What else do you want? He took the punishment for our sins upon Himself so that we can have peace withGod. If we do not accept that then we are saying 'I do not accept tha Jesus took the punishment for my sins' and we will have to take that punishment ourself because we have rejected Him and His sacrifice.

31 | are kids saved if their parents are | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 42271
Yes, based on our belief in Jesus who is our judge. John 3:17 For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him. John 3:18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation--he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] John 5:24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life. John 5:25 Believe Me when I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the time is coming and is here now when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear it shall live. John 5:26 For even as the Father has life in Himself and is self-existent, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself and be self-existent. John 5:27 And He has given Him authority and granted Him power to execute (exercise, practice) judgment because He is a Son of man [very man]. John 5:28 Do not be surprised and wonder at this, for the time is coming when all those who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, John 5:29 And they shall come out--those who have practiced doing good [will come out] to the resurrection of [new] life, and those who have done evil will be raised for judgment [raised to meet their sentence]. [Dan. 12:2.] John 5:30 I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord--but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me. |

32 | Why is forgiveness so impt 4 Christian | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 42540
The entire Bible stresses the need for forgiveness. Even Adam needed forgiveness. the books of the Old Testament and the New both show our need. In the Old, forgiveness was shown through the sacrifices. the New showed us that the sacrifices were types of what Christ did on the cross. He was and is the Lamb of God. Without forgiveness we are left with only God's Jugement against sin. |

33 | Where did Adam. Eve, and Cain go ? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 42721
Huhnn?? what is your question? Genesis is the revelation of God of His redeeming work. Cain and his decendants rejected God. Around the time on Noah it is recorded " Ge 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." There is no distintion between Cain's descendants and Seth's or place mentioned other that the earth. |

38 | Does Lev 23:3 say to gather on Sabbath? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 42944
Yes, to the Children of Israel who promised that : Ex 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD. There is no command to worship Jesus our Redeemer, not that we need any command to do what is a pleasure and a joy to rejoice in His resurrection. |
