21 | Why's my NASB diff. than online versions | Bible general Archive 2 | lorenzosjb | 115055
I think the first and best part is praying together asking God to let the Holy Ghost to give understanding. Christianity is a not a religion is a personal retionship with Jesus Christ. As a parent I try to emphasize Jesus Christ, His Word and Love. Give her a perspective about was the verse is telling her, because I think that is more important that she understand it before memorizing it. I think literal approach of NASB is much better than NIV or other paraphasis bibles. Maybe you can choose the version (KJ or NASB) depending on the passage and the meaning you want to give to her, or maybe you can choose other verses that explain better and simpler, you can use a concordance to look upon passages with same words or meaning. Is up you and of course the guidance of the Holy Spirit. There is to much controversy about bible versions, maybe you can learn about it and have a better opinion. A good objective source is Josh McDowell's: "Evidence That Demands a Verdict: Historical Evidences for the Christian Faith" where many topics including bible versions. Find it at Amazon. Also I think I will be a blessing not only to memorize verses but having a devotional for kids. Have you tried The Mailbox Club? This have made wonders to my 5 year daughter. Email them at http://mailboxclub.org/signup.asp, and they will send you free of charge devotionals to your mailbox where you can read it to her, she can draw and memorize scripture. Finishing a course they will send you a nice diploma to encourge your little girl to continue learning about God. Also for yourself please go to www.ednetusa.com and enter the english part of the site to discover easy to download and print devotionals that will touch your heart (as have touched mine) very deeply and very easy to understand and give word to your child. 31 | The names of the bible are wrong? | NT general Archive 1 | lorenzosjb | 136122
Hi, I have several questions about the bible. Why the "Book of James", is not called "Book of Jacob"? It is true that the names and places in the Bible have been changed and aren't using the correct Hebrew names? For example, "The Book of Matthew" should be called "The book of Mattityah"? Thanks, Lorenzo Jiménez |

35 | Galatians 3:19: ordained through angels? | Deut 33:2 | lorenzosjb | 125605
Hi, Galatians 3:19 NASB, says: "Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made". My question is about "ordained through angels". What does it means?. I thinked the Law was given only by God Himself. Thanks, Lorenzo Jimenez |

37 | What is the correct way to pray | Matt 6:9 | lorenzosjb | 132384
In latin america more and more often we see people saying public prays with words like: "By the authority of God", "Receive the blow of the Holy Ghost" (the preacher blows to the audience, "Receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit". TV channels like Enlace (sort of TBN spanish channel) asks for money in exchange of blessings: "believe God and what you give to the ministry will multiply!?" So is there a complete study of how to pray? As we are new born in Jesus, do we need to seek and follow only what is in the New Testament? Thanks, and sorry for the grammar. Lorenzo Jimenez |

39 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | lorenzosjb | 147498
Can doctrine make us lausy christians? I think Once Saved Always Saved doctrine can make us mediocre christians. Do you think our commodity christianity is the worst thing Satan had done? Early christians where very close to God because of the persecutions, etc. In Christ, Lorenzo |

40 | Can doctrine make us lausy christians? | John 17:17 | lorenzosjb | 147511
I am sorry, I don't want to create controversy in any form. My question is because Christianity has become much very different from the time of the Early Christians, and I want to know what role does human doctrine had on this impact. Now people read more about Self Guide Books than the Bible. Sorry if I upset you or any of the Forum, In Christ, Lorenzo |
