22 | Cleanse Conscience? Dead Works? | Heb 9:14 | formereverything | 121052
This sounds poetic but can anyone explain simply what this verse is saying? How does Christ sacrifice cleanse the conscience? What are dead works? As opposed to living works? |

23 | The Blood, The Body | Heb 10:20 | formereverything | 121134
Can this be interpreted as a reference to communion or eucharist? What I get from these verses is this: We enter the presence of God BECAUSE of the BLOOD. And We enter THROUGH the BODY. The KJV translation: 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; New Century Version 19 So, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place without fear because of the blood of Jesus' death. 20 We can enter through a new and living way that Jesus opened for us. It leads through the curtain -- Christ's body. The Message: 19 So, friends, we can now - without hesitation - walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God's presence is his body. 20 |

25 | What is the the white stone in Rev 2:17? | Rev 3:12 | formereverything | 120892
The white stone refers to the new name by which all redeemed will be known. Revelation 3:12 tells us what that name will be. 3: 12 says "the name of My God and the name of the city of God". In speculation I would assume the name of god to be Jesus, Emmanuel-God with Us, the city of God being Zion-the pure in heart. Therfore the new name we will be called in paraphrase is "the pure in heart who abide in Jesus". Names represent the character of the individual in the Bible. This being the case, God would give us a new name as he gave Abram when He called him Abraham or Jacob whom He named Israel. Isaiah 65:15 says that God will call his people by a another name. |
