22 | Things to Consider when studying the Bil | Gen 6:13 | fmp6954 | 235992
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN STUDYING THE BIBLE A. Who is doing the speaking and to whom are words being spoken? Read Gen:6:13,14 B. What circumstances in the context might affect the meaning? Read John 2:13,19 then 20,22 C. Is the language to be understood in a literal or figurative sense? Read John 10:9 D. Partial truth can lead to wrong conclusions correct understanding occurs only when all verses dealing with a subject are considered. Mat 26:51 and Mark 14:47 and Luke 22:50 and John 18:10 E. More difficult passages must be understood in a way that harmonizes (agrees) with less difficult passages. 2peter 3:14,16 , Rev. 1:1. 1:3 Rev. 22:6, 22:10 F. Bible study must be undertaken with an open mind not prejudiced by opinions or preconceived ideas. |

question #1 you said i don't like to be labeled I admit that that was the wrong choice of words, what I didn't like was being called a campbellite I do not follow campbell I follow Jesus. #2 I did mis-spell a word but you knew what i was talking about. Theopedia is openly bias! Their would be not a problem with definitions of words if the person writting would use words that are easy to understand. when you use uncommon words you have to look them up to try to get the meaning of what was being said, you get multible diffinations so you never know for sure what that person means. so no communications takes place. I would like to correct you on your last point, You quoted that I said I truly believe and determined that I was the only Christian on the forum, You miss quoted and mis-understood what is said. I said as far as I can determine. I have only been on this forum a short time, and interacted with only a couple people enough to know they do not fit the mold for a christian as stated in the scriptures. And I hope you will forgive me for mispelling any other words you might find. And Yes I am frustrated but not because people do not meet my mind or belief, simply because I see so many people that are lawless and speak many great thing about the lord but do not obey his words. See Matthew 7:21,23. Oh by the way your post was great, totally understandable. In Christ Fmp (Fred) |

I used wikipedia for the difinition of theology simply because it is non-basis unlike the web site you quoted. I don't really care what the difinition is because my point is IT WAS WRITTEN BY HUMANS!! and that puts it in the same catagory as a Commmentary. I prefer Doctrine as that is the inspired word of God. And what is your point of trying to label people all the time? Would you like to be labeled ? fmp |

Richard Hooker defined "theology" in English as "the science of things divine It is a scientific study by Men not inspired by God, theology is what humans say about the Bible so no more credibility then a commentary . fmp |

36 | How do you feel about the Ten Commandmen | Ephesians | fmp6954 | 235837
G'Evening Steve It looks like you have lots of reasons to keep the sabath holy, I say go ahead an worship any way you desire. I would like to make one more point I don't think God wants you to try to worship two laws at the same time see Romans 7:1,4 Would it please God for a woman to have two husbands at the same time? Would it please God for a Christian to try to live by the Old Testament Law and the New Testament at the same time? the 4th commandment was not included in the New testamant it served its purpose and now it is obslete. 37 | Why no prophets anymore? | 1 Cor 14:5 | fmp6954 | 235830
hello Nathan If you notice in 1 Corinthians Paul is speaking to the Christians in Corinth, about spiritual gifts these Christians were coveting the gift of Tongues so Paul is telling them that the gift of Prophesy was the greater gift. So Prophesy was active at that time. but the written Word was not available to them then. Notice in 1 Corinthians 13:8,10 8 Love never fails ; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away ; if there are tongues, they will cease ; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part ; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away the Perfect being the word. ( Jesus was perfect and he was the word) So all spiritual gifts ceased at that time. As far as the last prophet goes I don't have a clue. Only Prophets now are false prophets. Thank You fmp |

38 | How eagles renew their strength | Is 40:1 | fmp6954 | 235828
Greetings Thati I don't know if this answers your question but I cross referenced Isaiah 40:31 here is the result. Job 17:9; 9 "Nevertheless 1the righteous will hold to his way, And 2he who has clean hands will grow stronger Ps 103:5; 5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is 9renewed like the eagle 2 Cor 4:8-10, 16 8 we are 1afflicted in every way, but not 2crushed ; perplexed, but not despairing 9 persecuted, but not forsaken ; struck down, but not destroyed 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body 16 Therefore we 1do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. have a good day fmp |

39 | How do you feel about the Ten Commandmen | Ephesians | fmp6954 | 235827
Greetings Steve Just trying to spread a little more light on this subject. If you will notice Paul says in Galatians 3:16,19 "the Law was given until the Seed should come. The seed refered to is Jesus. So God intended for the Law He gave to Moses and the Jews to Last only until the time of christ. Also Notice in Luke 16:17 and Matthew 5:17,18 Jesus came to fulfill the law. Jesus said the Law would not pass away until all was fulfilled or acomplished. Does Jesus say the Law would never pass away ? Jesus said the Law would pass away when all was accomplished (fulfilled) , not before. Trust in the word. fmp |

40 | How do you feel about the Ten Commandmen | Ephesians | fmp6954 | 235826
good morning Steve Unless you are jewish the Law and the 10 commandments were not binding on you. see Exodus 34:27,28 notice that God made his covenant the Ten Commandments with Moses and the nation of Israel. Not Christians. When the New Testament came in to effect 9 of the 10 commandments were re-instated with the exception of the 4th commandment to keep the sabath. Have a good day! Fmp |
