Okay, im not trying to create a war here. I am a committed and born again christian. I am also not alone on my convictions, viewpoints and info. 22 | Did Jesus spend 3 days in hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | dougboy777 | 16740
Does 2 Cor. 5:8 really say that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord? I have heard that from churches and people all my life, but when you read it actually, it appears to be saying that we are confident, and hoping to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. Not at all saying that one is the direct result of the other.
23 | Are we really "1 nation under God? | Bible general Archive 1 | dougboy777 | 16735
Most of the "founding fathers" were deists' not christians, and many were agnostic. Thomas Jefferson and George Washington and Bejamin Franklin were all Deists'. Thomas Jefferson even rewrote the Bible to his liking leaving out all miracles and claimed himself as a deist, or, just belief in God
24 | Rev 8:7 grass burned -9:4 no more grass? | Revelation | dougboy777 | 16728
Well, most tranlations say in in Rev 8:4 that 1/3 of the earth was burned, and then restates the 1/3 for the trees, and just leaves it off when refering to the grass, but it goes back to that 1/3 of the earth was burned, all of the grass on that 1/3 was burned, and only 1/3 of the trees of 1/3 of the earth was burned.
25 | Opinions of J. Falwell on WTC attack. | Rom 3:23 | dougboy777 | 16670
How can we blame the "lost" for allowing the WTC and pentagon attacks to happen? If, indeed it was orcastrated by militant islamic groups, their personal vendeta is against "christian america" not "secular america". They don't like military activity in mideast and other muslim nations and view it as "Holy wars" so, how Jerry Falwell could blame anything on the secular people in america is beyond me. The fault lies on the portion of the church, especially the ones in government, that are riding on the fence. The ones that can't seem to distinguish the difference between their love for God and their love for Country. Should we pledge allegance to the flag, or pledge our allegance fully to God?
26 | Are we really "1 nation under God? | Bible general Archive 1 | dougboy777 | 16667
Is America really a Christian nation? Can this nation can be counted as a nation under God?
27 | Where was God? | Bible general Archive 1 | dougboy777 | 16665
That sounds right to me. Although God may be distant from the nation as a whole for turning away from Him, he is still close to His church, and that is why this is not just a wake up call for America, but a wake up call for the church, it's time to go to work. With so many souls searching for answers and security, the harbest is great! What a great time to go in to action for God. The tragedy of last week is not what we have been anticipating, but a nation desperate for answers and hope and security, is what we've been praying for. Holy Spirit, come and empower your church to do your work. Amen
