24 | Jesus wept !... did Jesus ever laugh? | Luke 10:21 | calmrage | 147390
I agree.. However, "Jesus wept" was plain and simple. Like I said before, As the Bible describes, it seems like we catch Jesus's suffering and saddness more than his happiness.
25 | Jesus wept !... did Jesus ever laugh? | Luke 10:21 | calmrage | 147386
Thanks for the answer... Yes I found one of them on Luke 7:9 "When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel" However, my point is that the Bible literally expressed Jesus's sad expression as in "Jesus wept". The Bible does not literally describe his joyful expression. Sometimes, when I am amazed with something, I may not laugh or smile, just happily shocked. Perhaps, it is the way how you read the Bible. In other words, the Bible literally and emotionally shows us the pain and suffering of Christ, but for joy and happiness of Christ, I guess in that case we have to use our imagination........... |

26 | 1. Is God sovereign? 2.) Free Will? | Bible general Archive 2 | calmrage | 147385
My understanding is that everything is created under the power of God. God has his ways of thinking. Why did he create Satan? why did he make himself suffer as Jesus? Why did he create this and that and destroy this and that? That's beyond human understanding. I have heard that the simple answer is that God wants his creation to glorify him. However, the depth of what his intention is not so easily to be understood. In other words, if we understand why and how everything God does, we will be called god. answer to q1: Simple answer, God wants to use Satan as a testing program to Job. Why? only God knows. Just like people ask why so many innocent people died in tsunami in Indonesia. It's beyond our understanding.. Is it act of God or act of Nature of act of Satan??? As a matter of fact, if you look at the whole picture, everything is act of God, but if you look at the smaller picture, maybe God let Satan do his thing again... A2. Here is example. A programmer creates a program that produce random number. He is a creator. He knows inside out of what's going on in the program. The number will keep coming out according to his calculation. He can stop the program anytime. But he chooses to let it run until he decides to stop it. We human are like the player in the program. We can choose certain random numbers, but we choose the - negative numbers, the Programmer or Creator will somehow design to unplug the game and make it "game over". Of course, our lives are in controlled by God no matter how. God created us and wants us to glorify his creation. Why? because is God. Again, if we think about the in-depth question of why. It's really hard to understand why God did all those.... However, the focus is not to understand the intention before God, but to focus our lives like we are the players, we are focusing the game, but not how the programmer makes the game. It's really beyond our understanding. |

27 | Jesus wept !... did Jesus ever laugh? | Not Specified | calmrage | 147379
Have you ever wonder why the Bible never mentioned that Jesus laughs or smiles? (Correct and quote me if I am wrong) Yes, his teachings in mountain about those are blessed... "Blessed are those..... " However, the Bible seems not to mention his facial expression about happines. Has Jesus been happy in his life? The Bible has mentioned that Jesus Wept as in John 11:15.Is there a reason for it? Or is it Christians are like Christ that most of our lives have to be pain and suffering in order to be eternally happy!??? |

29 | Believe in the Bible only right? | 2 Pet 2:1 | calmrage | 141949
Maybe this link will help you... http://shawnsettle.tripod.com/mormons/id1.html Anyway, I quite agree with you about additional book should not be added to the Bible. However, I still wonder why Christians (Protestant that is) are still accepting Catholic belief. Not just that they call Mary "Holy Mother" and worship her in a way. And I believe they also hold some sort of additional book as well. Additional book for praying purpose. I mean, to me only Protestant Christian is the true religion if you go by the book of the Bible. Other than that, I would consider them cult, or "close but not quite Christian" Mormon believers believe in one husband many wives system. That is definiately a false religion... |

30 | Why did David use five stones? | Genesis | calmrage | 129386
So he could have 4 more chance if he missed.... :) No, just kidding... I was told 2 answers. 1. 5 means judgement. 2. There is no significant meaning in numbers many times in the Bible. We should not care too much about the numbers. In this case, maybe David's hand could only grab 5 stones and he killed the giant. If he missed, he would have grabbed 5 more... |

31 | Is Church needed for high spirited ones? | Not Specified | calmrage | 129382
Too much spiritual?? or Is Church really needed for Christian especially those high spirited ones?? I have 2 highly educated relatives. They were once pastors in certain churches. They have taught the gospel to the public in church. However, due to some sort of church politics or disappointment they have been thru, and they seemed to get sick and tired of being part of the church. When I asked them why they don't go to church any more. They simply said that they don't need church. They said they OVERCOME the need to be in church. I didn't understand at first. However, I have a feeling that somehow they don't get along with most churches and/or they can't serve the way they want in church. As a result, they give up the idea of being in church. I was also told that they don't need to be in church because they already understand fully about the Bible and don't need to be preached. However, they sent their daughter to one church, but yet they don't show the presences. p.s. Lately, when they talk about the gospel with other close relatives; they seem to avoid convincing others going to church. Basically, they have no models to show that church is important or recommendation to what denomination or name of the Church. My question really is.. 1. Do high-spirited people (my relatives (a couple), pastors, rev.) need to go to church even they don't to be preached? If they somehow can't serve the lord as preacher, should they still stop going to church like my relatives...? 2. I know it's somewhere, but forgot, please quote me some words from Jesus about going to church is Christian's obligation. (one of them about proud believers should humble themselves, but in their cases, they always say they already did and it's not their problems, it's church problem) 3. Since they claim they are high spirited individuals, how do you confront them with Bible verses if this is wrong not going to church? 4. I do not wish to argue with them. If I do, they will use the argument about me not being high spirit and therefore I always end up not qualifying judging them. 5. Have you known anyone like that situation? How do you deal with that. Your sharing and thought is highly appreicated. thanks.. |

33 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116578
How do we know what God considered important??? We are not God... What God does not say literally may have some hidden meanings.. That's why we have to ponder and study about.. As for Chicken and egg question, I am sure it is Chicken first .. because God created animals first, and he didnt create egg and let it hatch by itself. So I think you are being sacarastic about that... Thanks for all your posts anyway.. I did get some insight from your views though.... God bless... |

34 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116575
Certainly... and guess what.. I just found out check this link out http://user.cybrzn.com/TITLDSIGNnsbaptist/dan3.htm uSE THE TITLD SIGN TO sub the word, can't post that *** These two verses speak of the command of Nebuchadnezzar to gather the rulers of the provinces before the image for a dedication service. Some have argued that such a condition would have encouraged revolution, but the gathering of the rulers would not leave the provinces without soldiers. Verse 3 says that "all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together," but the Question is raised, where was Daniel, since he was not listed with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It is suggested that Daniel may have been absent when the image was being dedicated or else his high position in the government may have discouraged any from accusing him before the king. They might have thought that by accusing those of lower rank first, they could then later accuse one of higher rank such as Daniel. Others suggest that maybe Daniel was in a place, during the dedication, that removed him from the gaze of the people. However, we must confess that at the present we are unable to conclusively give a reason for the omission of Daniel with his three friends.*** *** from the page i found from the internet At least my question was not just raised by me alone. Many Bible study people also ponder this question. |

35 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116570
Thank you for your answer but the Answer not acceptable.. I would rather have answer like "we don't know or Daniel may not be there " rather than saying "....wasting our time pondering the unimportant." Lots of things or questions are not even Bible related and yet we go by the Bible and explore the truth. For examples Existance of Dinosaurs. Explorer used the book of Gen, Noah's flood to prove that Dinosaurs did exist. Some posters asked about life after Death.... If they are not important, I guess we are wasting studying the truth and the Bible. My question is about Daniel, and he is in the book of Daniel. It's natural for people to wonder where he was and the purpose of God not mentioning about him at that chapter. Again, I appreciated your efford to answer the question. However, if we study the Bible the old fashioned way, we will never find out the truth of the Bible. Why do you think God put four gosepels instead of one??? Aaaah, don't tell me stay focus .. this is not important either, so stop asking..... It does not say why. But it is so obvisous that there are different angles to see what Jesus did when he was on earth doing his gospel work. Bible related questions are never unimportant.. but where it can be answered is another thing. |

36 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116561
I agreed half of the comment. Yes, we have to focus on what the Bible says, not what it does not say. However, the question I asked is not out of any thought. I was following the story line of Daniel and himself. All of a sudden, he was not mentioned, that's why I asked. I went to some Bible Study classes, there are many questions that were asked why this .. or why that.. what's the significance of saying this, does this verse have something to do with that... What does this man have to do with that... and so on... And as of this question about Daniel... He's the main character in the book. It is very natural that the question is brought up. Whether it can be anwswer or not is another thing. Otherwise, there are lots of questions that can not be answered because the Bible does not tell everything word for word. We have to go study for it. Thanks for your answer anyway... |

37 | Recognition after death? Biblical Ref? | Romans | calmrage | 116492
We will be different in the heavn. The relationship will be only as in brothers and sisters. In other way, your children will also be your brothers/sisters in heavn. There is no need to get puzzled about how God is going to prepare you to see you love ones. By then, everyone will be happy in heavn. Come to think of it, there are millions of millions of saved souls. If we use our worldy mind to imagine what heavns will be, we would then ask another question, ... how do we find them?.... Answer is, we don't have to .. by then, we will all know... God Bless. Romans 12:4, 5 |

38 | Where's Daniel?! | Not Specified | calmrage | 116490
Where is Daniel??? This may requires you to read Daniel 3 or perhaps 2 as well. Daniel 2 mentioned that Daniel has been promoted and has authority to take care of many things in the kingdom. However, on chapter 3, it mentions about his 3 friends were arrested because of rejecting or refusing worshipping the image or idol the king built. It didn't mention Daniel at all. How could he be missing in such a big event (image built to worship)? Why wasn't he mentioned in the Bible??? Did he worship the idol? Was there any significance with his absence? How do we treat something this is not mentioned in the Bible and yet it may be important? (well to some people like me anyway) Any thought?? |
