21 | Marriage, why is so importtant to us? | Mark 10:6 | bannal | 14516
I don't know if I am off base with my comment here, but your question was simply, "Why is marraige so important?" I say it isn't that marraige is important. Marraige is God's blessing upon a Man and a Woman who long to be together. Paul wasn't married and he said in 1 Corinthians 7:8 that for you to work for God it would be good if you could be like him and be single. 1 Corinthians 7:8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. * He is saying, "You won't have that extra stuff to worry about like; Husband/Wife/Kids/sickness in family/etc..... He doesn't say it is bad to marry, just that you could focus so much more of yourself to God if you weren't married. Paul also says, in verse 9, if you can't control yourself then get married. 1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. * Here he is stating that if you want to be with someone, and they you, it is better to go ahead and marry. Hope I am not in a different arena with these thoughts..... |

22 | not any more? | Ex 22:16 | bannal | 14514
I agree with your assessment Tim. It would definitely cut down on that type of behavior. It just seems as if God knows what he is doing, huh? |

23 | Do i need a resignation letter to leave | Bible general Archive 1 | bannal | 14471
I do not have a verse to go with this, but I do have an opinion. Are you very active in your church? By that I mean, do you lead any group that would need you in that particular church? Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, Song Leader, etc...... If so, then yes I feel you should give a notice of leaving, and it doesn't have to be in letter form in my opinion. Also, if you are a member of the church, with your name on the role and you want it removed, a letter is the only way to handle this. But, if you go to the church and are a pew-sitter with no responsibility of people under you I don't see why you would have to write a letter. Again, I am only giving my opinion, and I am assuming you do not want to write a letter unless it is necessary. I hope someone can give scripture if there is any other answers. |
