25 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236308
I have found the OKJV to be remarkably accurate and it's the only version I read with the exception of the Hebrew.
26 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236303
I read the OKJV. The purpose of an offering is for the priests and people to eat it. An offering of fruit or bread, etc. is perfectly acceptable and God said he would never cause another flood. The sign of this covenant is the rainbow
27 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236302
The world will never end, it will just radically change. God will recreate and renew the heavens and the earth and the fire will be on earth-not hell.
28 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236301
If you saturate yourself in the scriptures so that you can quote them verbatim from memory, you will be able to meditate and receive answers from the Holy Spirit. All of my doctrine is biblically based and conforms to the word of God.
29 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236293
The flood cleansed the earth and the curse was removed. Offerings from the ground are perfectly acceptable. Gen. 8:21
30 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236289
I disagree. The bible doesn't say but doesn't what I said make sense?
31 | Are we supposed to observe the Sabbath? | Bible general Archive 2 | Susan B Lange | 236286
Right, that's one of many laws that they changed or negated. Sunday is the first day of the week. The Sabbath is the seventh day (Saturday)
32 | Are we supposed to observe the Sabbath? | Bible general Archive 2 | Susan B Lange | 236279
Keeping the Sabbath was the outward sign of the covenant, and it's important to keep it on the seventh day-Saturday. Jews and some Christians observe this, it honors the creator God and his creative work and identifies us as his people.
33 | In the Midst of Enemies | Luke 10:3 | Susan B Lange | 236278
Loving your enemies is a new testament concept. In the old there was "enmity"-hostility or hatred between the wicked and the righteous. Gen. 3:15. This is the main reason bad things happen to good people-the wicked do wicked things to the righteous because they hate them, theres a couple other reasons too. The enemies of God will be burnt up and sent to hell. Ps. 37:20
34 | Dinosaurs not on Ark so now extinct? | Bible general Archive 4 | Susan B Lange | 236277
Dinosaurs are actually mentioned in the bible. The Hebrew is "nephilim" and it's translated "giants" Gen. 6:4. If the flood was worldwide, they were destroyed in the flood.
35 | baptism | Gen 2:21 | Susan B Lange | 236276
"Created in Gods image" means a physical likeness-God is a human person in spirit form, and has always planned on living on earth. God used to be the king of Israel before Saul and he plans on reestablishing the kingdom of heaven on the earth-the land of the living.
36 | Explain Proverbs Ch. 20, verses 6 and 7 | Prov 20:6 | Susan B Lange | 236275
I prefer the OKJV, it makes more sense and is self explanatory
37 | Why did God allow Polygamy? | Gen 2:21 | Susan B Lange | 236274
In the beginning, God allowed incest (we're all one family) and later on he allowed polygamy. This was for procreation purposes and to multiply the seed of a patriarchal society. It's interesting that women never had multiple husbands, it's always multiple wives. A man could keep a multitude of women pregnant at the same time.
38 | why no meat in the wilderness? | Ex 16:3 | Susan B Lange | 236273
"sacrifice" means "to make sacred" Life is sacred, even the lives of animals is sacred. The Torah laws regarding the rituals of sacrifice were not given yet. Adam and Eve were vegetarian, meat wasn't eaten til after the flood and the only dietary law was the prohibition against the consumption of blood which means you don't eat meat raw. An animal had to be slain as humanely as possible so it didn't suffer.
39 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236271
Cains offering was not accepted because it came from the ground and at the time the ground was cursed. Gen. 3:17, 5:29, 8:21
40 | blood ordinances and ten commandments | Matt 5:16 | Susan B Lange | 236208
I absolutely agree. A "fat" heart refers to prosperity, pride and corruption, and they happen in that order. We are to circumcise our hearts as well as our male children (mainly for health reasons)
