21 | For Nick - Niece possible or not?? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 14091
Nick: you say that Cain MUST have married his sister. Is there any reason why you would discount the possibility that it may have been his niece? I'm nat saying it was his niece or had to be his niece. I had always believed it had to be his sister, given the information available to us. However, someone on this forum has pointed out that it may have been his niece and it seems to me that people here are not willing to address that possibility.
22 | Decendents of Jesus today? | Bible general Archive 1 | Raymondo | 14030
Sorry, no descendents. Distant relatives? It is quite possible. I had never really thought about that before. Thank you very much for bringing it up!! Hope that answers your questions. Please note that there are totally separate meanings "related" to descendents and relatives. |

24 | For Ed B. | Bible general Archive 1 | Raymondo | 14027
Ed: I am in total agreement with what you said. Yes, I think it is excellent, concise writing. I thought perhaps you had cut and pasted it and was curious as to the writer but now I know it was indeed you. Please take it as a compliment. I look forward to reading more of your responses. |

26 | can all churches worship together as one | Bible general Archive 1 | Raymondo | 13992
There is only one true Church. This Church consists of all the true believers alive on this earth at the present moment. There are true believers and conterfeits in almost any "Christian" church. Only God can see their true hearts and motives. My objective is to love all people towards becoming whole-hearted followers of Jesus. Therefore, if a person or group confesses Christ as Lord and God, then I would have no problem worshipping with this person or group. However, if said group does not follow clear and plain teaching of the Bible (as I interpret them of course) in regards to Christ and the fact that he is God from the beginning who took on flesh to provide a way of redemption for an absolutely lost and depraved world, then I cannot in clear conscience, join with such a group in worship and fellowship. That is my opinion at this time but I would love to hear more from others and discuss other views. I recently read a book by Chuck Colson called "The Body". It expanded my thinking in a lot of ways and would recommend it to everyone. (This is not to say that I agreed 100 percent with everything he wrote.) Agape Love to all. Ray |

28 | For Peches | Bible general Archive 1 | Raymondo | 13990
Peches: could you explain what you mean by "God's was created from this beatiful....." I'm not sure if there was a typo or if just missed your meaning. Thanks!
29 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 13532
Actually, I have just learned that it may not have been one of Adam's daughters.
30 | Possibly a niece? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 13480
For Cain to marry his niece, it would mean a younger brother married off and having grown children before Cain married. This is the only way I can think of for him to marry a niece and not a sister. Is this what you are saying is a possibility?
31 | Niece? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 13188
Thanks Steve. I totally agree. That is why Mark Ostertag's statement threw me off, MARK SAID: "Because of the long life-spans, Adam and Eve's descendants may have been very numerous and widely dispersed before Cain even took a wife-that is, any inhabitants of the land of Nod would have been descendants of Adam and Eve, who had many sons and daughters." |

32 | Niece? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 13172
I think I'm confused. Are you saying that a younger brother had children before Cain did?

34 | Cain was first? | Gen 1:1 | Raymondo | 12868
Mark said: "Adam and Eve's descendants may have been very numerous and widely dispersed before Cain even took a wife-that is, any inhabitants of the land of Nod would have been descendants of Adam and Eve." I may be wrong but I thought Cain was their first son. The above statement seems to imply possibly not. |

35 | Figurative vrs literal language? | Not Specified | Raymondo | 12857
Quote from a friend: """My opinion also stands that one (Christian) must take the bible 100 percent literally, or 100 percent figuratively. There can be no in between. If one reads a part that does not make sense to them, it is up for interpretation. But if one believes so earnestly in God, then how can he deny that the Bible is God's word and law? Yet they go on to say, this or that certain verse is not meant to be taken literally. Would that not be questioning God's word? How does anyone know which part is literal and which is not?""" I am at somewhat of a loss and am wondering if there is someone out there that can help me with a clear answer. |

37 | When was Adam created? | Not Specified | Raymondo | 11192
How long ago did God create Adam and Eve? Is there a study or a paper of sorts to support your answer? I'm thinking I've heard 6000 to 7000 years ago but have no way to verify that. Thanks in advance.
