21 | what is your point? | Gen 1:12 | Jeshuafreak | 55114
Thank you ...and no.. I am pretty sure that I need spport from my wife, my Christian brothers and all of you. Please pray for me to have the strength from God to deny my flesh. There is no temptetion but that which is common to man.. He will not let us face the temptation w/out also giving us a means of escape. There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I am a blood washed pilgrim and I am a soldier of Christ .. Lord keep me growing into the fullness of the man You want me to be . Thank YOu Lord. Amen
22 | friends with weed are friends indeed? | Gen 1:12 | Jeshuafreak | 55113
YOu said, "Sounds great! But, I wonder, will these friends quit smoking pot for you? " I hope not...I hope they quit for the Lord and for themselves... |

23 | what is your point? | Gen 1:12 | Jeshuafreak | 55112
"1 Cor 5:11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. " I know this verse well and I do sense your genuine heart felt emotion and love for me in Christ. I feel as Paul at times, "wishing that I were accursed , for the sake of the salvation of my brothers and sisters who still smoke pot." my paraphrase and I couldn't tell you the address either. You know brother, I do know alot about the Word... but honestly I don't have too much practical experience living this Christian life. I know more about living life on its terms instead of on God's terms. I did stay clean and sober for 3 and a half years. I was in N.A. along with my mom. She was a heroin addict (on methadone now). I was in N.A. first to support my mom and started to get to some of them and it was good for me ...to a point. I learned that I could do life without drugs, and booze or anything else. I did not know the Lord then . I prayed to a higher power. God as I created him. See my God was a blender mix of evrything I thought was spiritual. I didn't want to go to church because I was living a sinful lifestyle. Though I didn't know it then. I was learning secular humanism and the human potential movement first hand. I was indoctrinated with all that stuff. I was the same person at the end of the three years. I was just aware of my ability to not have to do dope. I saw many people go in and out of those rooms and the sob stories and year after year it was the same thing...boring. I learned how to be a user of women. I was addicted to sex as well. I was is sick denial there... cause I thought I loved them. ***incidently this is all going to be in the book....the Lord is helping me put it together.*** I was and am now ADD growing up. And very hyperactive. They startedme on Ritalin, which is amphetamines (speed). This would make me mellow because it "over-amped" my system and I became the opposite of what I normally was. Gramma got me off those , thank God. In later years (H.S.) I expiremented with speed a little and didn't like it because it made me quiet....lol..not my nature to be quiet. I believe God made e the way I am and wants me to be completely free of substances. I was conditioned to party when I was growing up. Then from 16 to 19 I was conditioned to live clean and sober and be a self centered individual. From 19 to 24 I condoitioned my self to party constructively. I was a functional drug user. I worked 40 hours a week..sold a little pot to support my habit. I was smoking free weed...then I stopped selling it and bought it. It is very expensive , and I was spending quite a bit of money... I shudder to think how much I have actually spent on getting high... Thank You Lord for Your forgiveness. Thank You Lord for sending Your Son on ahead of me to pave the way on that via dela Rosa.. Thank You Jesus for laying down Your life for mine...that YOu chose me to be found in YOu even before time. I prais e You and honor You and glorfy YOur name forever AMEN******Sometimes I just want to shout JESUS!!! |

24 | How do I know I am a real Christian? | Not Specified | Jeshuafreak | 55103
How do I know I am a real Christian? To find God without having to be "religious" I walked into a Religious Education classroom in a public school in Australia and with tongue-in-cheek wrote in large letters across the blackboard: "I hate religion" “Man, in this class, you'll get shot,” gasped one student in amazement. “But I’m sold on real Christianity,” I responded. “Well, what’s the difference?” several chorused. "Let me explain," I replied. Go to http://www.gospelcom.net/actsi/htbs1.htm **** to see the reast**** |

You said, "No, you can only quit once. Temporarily not using is not the same thing as quitting." AND I AGREE...but what I said was- "I have made many breaks from pot." Sometimes long for 3 years and shorter 1 year.. YOu also said**** "You are correct that you must leave behind your old life, especially your party friends, not because of your harsh judgement of that lifestyle and those you share it with, but rather because you see that you cannot survive their company nor withstand the forces that drive their using." With all due respect you don't know me or my freinds...I have tight friends who have known me for years and would do anything for me...they just happen to be ocasional pot smokers.. I will not judge them for that they will have to stand before the Lord one day , just like you and I , and give an account for the things done in the flesh... Think real hard and search deep in yourself...maybe there is something similair in your life that your flesh likes alot AND MAKE APPLICATION. Don't sit there an piously make your assumptions.. it is not atractive, nor uplifting. I know where I satnd...like David said in Psalm 51 my sin is ever before me.. AND GUESS WHAT? WE all sin. Confess it to the Lord and ask Him to do the changing and He will . No matter what happens He is the one that is causing all things to work together for good in the lives of genuine believers.. those of us who know Jesus personally. Thank again for advice.... You said at the end of your post**** "You must not think that you can help them while you are still in bondage to this. Yes, we are salt and light, but don't deceive yourself into believing you are either until the Lord delivers you from this. Many have fallen because they underestimated how deeply the hook is set." This is very true... my case in point.. one day I will be able to go into a smoke filled room and not be drawn to it or adversaly affected by the temptation.. but I will be able to share the goodness, mercy and grace with them that Jesus has for them. -Jeshuafreak |

27 | IS TONGUES FOR TODAY? | 1 Cor 14:5 | Jeshuafreak | 55085
I was saying that it is not THE only evidence that is is only one of many and not every believer , myself included , speaks in tongues. go to www.equip.org for books like COUNTERFEIT REVIVAL and CHRISTIANITY IN CRISIS by Hank Hanegraff. There are many false teachers and false Christins for that matter exhibiting counterfeit gifts, and counterfeit signs and wonders. BENNY HINN, REINHARD BONKEY , KENNETH COPELAND, T.D. JAKES, Frederick K.C. Price, Kenneth Hagin, Jesse Duplantis, Joyce Meyer and others. Each of these teachers are immensely promoted on the TBN Network. *****ALSO READ THE FOLOWING ARTICLE****PROPHETS OF PROFIT WITHIN THE WALLS OF THE CHURCH****** http://www.globalnetexec.com/prophetsofprofit.htm |

28 | what is your point? | Gen 1:12 | Jeshuafreak | 55084
I have made many breaks from pot.....I am not the personality that can't handle it on his own... I end up becoming legalistic and judgemental on those who still smoke it. They know how I get when I don't smoke it. I don't come around I don't call them....I hardly leave my home. I wrap myself up in a protective security blanket of Christian friends and church. This is in part wrong to do.. Christians have an obligation to the lost, misinformed and immoral brother. We need to be salt and light. thank you for the advice though. |

Read the article it is against marijuanna ..I lost in this debate and I am diciding to side with God's Word. All I wanted was a good solid agument..not based on emotions I wanted cold hard object facts.....and not opinionions. I wanted a good solid argument against smoking pot... For years I justified it's use in my life. I am now fully convinced that I can no longer smoke it and have biblical support for doing so. Please read the debate that convicted me.*****One Toke Over the Line By Douglas Wilson http://www.christkirk.com/images/Marijuana.html |

You said, "Of course, the problem comes only if the actions are sinful. I understand that this is precisely the question you're asking in regard to smoking pot, and my point is that experience shows time after time that drug abuse interferes with one's relationship with God" I say AMEN!!! http://www.christkirk.com/images/Marijuana.html Did you take time to read this article? Thank you for your comments though unnecessary The talk was a great argument on why Christians should NOT smoke pot. The Holy Spirit is not an it He is a He. He is God and tongues is AN evidence not THE evidence......And WE RECIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. If have excepted Christ as your Lord and Savior you have the Holy Spirit. YOU SAID******"Yes it is! I am a Pentecostal, and we believe that the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost(Spirit) is tongues. When you receive the Holy Ghost you are actually accepting Jesus Christ into you, and once It is in you It tells you what to say. Oft times it is a Heavenly language and no one can understand it, and other times it is in a different language that you do not know how to talk but someone who speaks that language can understand you a receive what God has for them through you. It is very much real and very much for today. I have myself received the Holy Ghost and it is the most wonderful feeling you will ever experience. It is Scriptural too! Acts 2:4, Luke 12:12, 1Cor 6:19, Romans 5:5, Isaiah 28:11 ... this is just some of the Scriptures that tell about the Holy Ghost!" |

34 | do not get drunk with wine | Eph 5:18 | Jeshuafreak | 54911
My soul might be perpetually dropping showers of tears, if it might know the doom and destruction brought on by that one demon, and by that one demon only! Though I am no total abstainer, I hate drunkenness as much as any man breathing, and have been the means of bringing many poor creatures to relinquish this bestial indulgence. We believe drunkenness to be an awful crime and a horrid sin. We stand prepared to go to war with it. How many thousands are murdered every year by that accursed devil of drunkenness! - Charles Spurgeon |

I especially liked his ending. I will pray more on this, I don't want it to be an issue for me and to hinder my reaching out in love to my pot smoking Christian friends. I have isolated and cut them off like lepers when my love should be of the top most priority. I can't put myself away in a Christian comune I have to reach out to those who are in bondage and perishing for the lack of knowledge. "Christian liberty is given so that we might learn to be holy. "That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life" (Luke 1:74-75). Those who desire holiness have to walk away from marijuana for good. " |

Having been on the losing side of the marijuanna debate I am now completely convinced that it is sin and I can now longer entain the thought of a positive defense I humbly bow in retreat. Thank you again all of you for the lively discussion. Check out this article which is a true debate on the issue and he is a true Christian his argument is against the use of marijaunna by Christians.. it was very persuading. I can no logically debate this topic with my pot smoking Christian friends. Thank you again all of you and please let's move on. We have taken up too much space on this already. One Toke Over the Line By Douglas Wilson http://www.christkirk.com/images/Marijuana.html "But suppose this is granted, but a further question is asked. What about the fellow who is not wiped out? He smokes marijuana but remains (at least in his own mind) fully functional. He grants that "drunkenness" is always wrong, but denies that marijuana has to produce "drunkenness." Why cannot cannabis provide an equivalent experience to wine gladdening the heart of man? We have to look at this argument carefully. We have seen that drunkenness is flatly prohibited by Scripture, but we have to recognize that other uses of alcohol are approved and encouraged throughout the Bible. In order to do this, we must back up. According to the Bible, alcohol has at least five lawful scriptural uses. Let's look at each, and see if there is a parallel to marijuana at that point. The last one we will consider is the "gladden the heart" argument." SEE ARTICLE FOR THE WHOLE DISCUSSION. |

37 | question to smoke pot or not | Gen 1:12 | Jeshuafreak | 54896
The folowing is a quote from a larger article at: ******http://www.christkirk.com/images/Marijuana.html********** One Toke Over the Line By Douglas Wilson "In some places, the standards have simply collapsed. This is nothing other than old-fashioned backsliding, and it is common in modern evangelical circles. But in the midst of this general ethical slide, another phenomenon has appeared, one which is still comparatively rare. In the Reformed world, some have taken the banner of Christian liberty and have begun to wave it in favor of certain practices that would once have been rejected out of hand. One prime example of this is the idea (now current with some) that smoking marijuana in moderation is part of Christian liberty and no more to be rejected than enjoying a glass of wine at dinner." "Christian Liberty A classic statement of the meaning of Christian liberty is found in Chapter XX of the Westminster Confession of Faith. Because the "Christian liberty defense" of marijuana smoking is coming from what might be called the flotsam and jetsam of the Reformed world, I am beginning with the historic Reformed statement of the doctrine. At first glance, this might seem like an odd place to begin a discussion of smoking dope, but it actually makes a good deal of sense. Christian liberty is a fine-sounding phrase and rolls easily off the tongue. But our fathers in the faith were not as enamored of slogans as we are and have dealt thoroughly with the deeper ramifications of all this. We should consider their words carefully and learn from them when we ask, "What should we mean, exactly, by Christian liberty?" The first paragraph of this chapter in the Confession establishes the doctrinal foundation of all that follows. The liberty which Christ hath purchased for believers under the Gospel consists in their freedom from the guilt of sin, the condemning wrath of God, the curse of the moral law (Tit. 2:14; 1 Thess. 1:10; Gal. 3:13); and, in their being delivered from this present evil world, bondage to Satan, and dominion of sin (Gal. 1:4; Col. 1:13; Acts 26:18; Rom. 6:14); from the evil of afflictions, the sting of death, the victory of the grave, and everlasting damnation (Rom. 8:28; Ps. 119:71; 1 Cor. 15:54-57; Rom. 8:1); as also, in their free access to God (Rom. 5:1-2), and their yielding obedience unto Him, not out of slavish fear, but a child-like love and willing mind (Rom. 8:14-15; 1 John 4:18). All which were common also to believers under the law (Gal. 3:9, 14). But, under the new testament, the liberty of Christians is further enlarged, in their freedom from the yoke of the ceremonial law, to which the Jewish Church was subjected (Gal. 4:1-3, 6-7; 5:1; Acts 15:10-11); and in greater boldness of access to the throne of grace (Heb. 4:14, 16; Heb. 10:19-22), and in fuller communications of the free Spirit of God, than believers under the law did ordinarily partake of (John 7:38-39; 2 Cor. 3:13, 17-18)." |
