21 | Calendar of Christ's public ministry | Bible general Archive 3 | Bruce Killian | 176173
Des, I have worked out a calendar of Jesus' public ministry from His baptism to the Pentecost following His ascension. I believe it is highly accurate. It includes a narrative of His ministry and at the end a Calendar detailing the timing of the events of his ministry. See http://www.scripturescholar.com/Jesus2YearMinistry.htm If you have any further questions just contact me. |

22 | Ruth - Born of Moab or Living in Moab? | Ruth 3:11 | Bruce Killian | 176172
One more follow-up note, Boaz was the son of a Canaanite (Rahab his mother helped the spies escape Jericho. Matt 1:5) Canaanites were not allowed into the congregation of Israel until the 10th generation either. Marrying Ruth only added one more generation. I believe this story is told in part to show that there were 10 generations most unlisted between Ruth and her descendant David.
23 | What do these 430 years mean? | Gen 15:13 | Bruce Killian | 176171
I believe the 430 years refer to the period from the return of Jacob to Israel from Padam Aram, because 1) In the LXX and the Samaritan Penteuch in Ex 12:40-41 refers to the period of time in Egypt and Canaan, 2) the Massoretic Text and the LXX have the period refering only to the sons of Israel. 3) It is not until Jacob returns that there are sons of Israel in Canaan. Jacob and his sons were in Canaan for 30 years before going to Egypt. 4) The period in Egypt was 400 years, it could not be shorter because 1 Chronicles 7:20-27 records each of Ephraim's descendants generations, if the period was 215 years each father would father his son at age 12.
