21 | "Verses (equals) no cussing" please? | Not Specified | 2Tim215 | 180411
I have just recently stopped cussing; I finally figured out how totally stupid and meaningless it is. A friend of mine has started cussing and no matter what I tell him, he won't believe me and STOP. Any recommendations, bible verses, etc to help me out would be awesome. thanks. |

23 | Theological Terms: Various Heresies | 1 John 4:2 | 2Tim215 | 180408
Sorry to but in, but this is kinda confusing for a blonde like me : ) Okay. Let me get this straight. Jesus is an ordinary man (except that he was born of a virgin, etc) with the Holy Spirit as his soul? fully God, but fully man? He is the Lord, and he has been given authority over everything. He died as a final sacrifical Lamb, but showed his authority over death by rising on the third day. Am I correct on all points? thanks. 2 Tim 2:15–Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. NASB |

You know, you're absolutely right. And it is awesome God hasn't told us everything. Thank you for correcting me once again. The only little detail is…our baptist church doesn't say the Nicene Creed…and I've only heard it once before. Do you know where (a web site) I could find it or something? I'd appreciate that. thanks once again. |

Hmm. Well, we know from common experience that a lot of women are abused by their husbands. And we know in 1 Cor 14:35, "If they (the women) desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church." So, judge for yourself. |

I think this might explain it; God is in heaven, but he sent a man with the Holy Spirit as Jesus. The Holy Spirit unites them. god bless |

31 | Whats a womens place in the Church? | 1 Tim 2:12 | 2Tim215 | 180383
Okay. I know this sounds wierd, but just hang with me, here. I was baptized at a young age, but there was no faith. In 2000, our church did the Fourty Days of Purpose (by Rick Warren). I realized I had to get my life straight. "but I'm already baptized!" I protested to the heart-wrenching knowlegde I had to accept Christ as my savior. I couldn't stop thinking about it. The feeling is like a persistent whisper, and yet so powerful it almost makes me start trembling. Well, this time I told God i'm sorry for my sins, and would he please save me with Christ's blood? I knew I'd done the right thing. i went forward in the Invitation to be baptized (again) but this time I knew I was following my Lord (see, my Dad wasn't too hot on the whole idea but I did it anyway). Now, I found something Ezekiel did/saw/whatever! in the Old Testament–you know, when he's standing in the cave and God was like, stand at the entrance when you hear me come by. So the wind, fire, and earthquake came but God wasn't in them. Then a whisper came and Ezekiel knew it was God. This feeling is like a river, taking my heartbeat with it. It's the smallest whisper; the knowledge that I MUST glorify Jesus's name and share some wisdom he's given me. Example: One day, our pastor was talking about walking on the water. He said we have to be like Peter; he obeyed his lord and walked on water. But, we have to keep our eyes on Jesus or we'll sink. Well, his words made me think of Cross Country, in which I run. See, the rules of "water walking" are just like CC––You have to keep your eyes up (on jesus) or you slow down, You can't walk off the track/quit or you're disqualified, etc. and I KNEW, down in my heart, that I needed to share the revelation with the congregation. I didn't have a single "good" reason to go forward and tell it except that that feeling was shaking my world. So I went forward. Another example: A friend of mine has anger management issues like you wouldn't believe. He's angry at everything and everyone, including God. Our church has a Christmas Play every year (it usually includes the nativity, but it has a different plot every year) and I got the Feeling to invite my friend to it. I knew it would be hard. He's always with his other friends, and he kinda scares me anyway. But I swallowed my huge fear and gave him the invitation anyway. I guess you could call the feeling a burden, too. It's like a weight on the shoulders of my heart. I would be credulous about the feeling, too, if it wasn't for the fact my words spoke for Jesus's name every time. it feels good to get that out onto paper. thanks for asking. god bless. |

32 | Will there be night in heaven? | Revelation | 2Tim215 | 180382
thanks. Rebuke may not be fun, but it sure gives a lot of wisdom. And thanks for making me see I wasn't being completly clear. It stems from having a friend who goes to church but doesn't belive in Hell. Aside from that, I think of hell as where god is Not. You know, he is the I AM; he is here, now, and every single second of the Present is occupied by Him. another friend of mine thinks Hell is satan's paradise. "He's used to fire!" he says. "How is hell going to hurt him?" So I say not even Satan can lift a finger without God ordaining it. In Hell, Satan will be tormented forever in the Vacuum created by God's absence. And I know; God is here, but torment is here, too, because the first humans chose Sin instead of obeying God. Thanks for correcting me. I stand gratefully corrected. god bless. |

34 | Will we have flashbacks of the past? | Revelation | 2Tim215 | 180380
Hmmmm…I never thought of it that way. Thanks. Although, I think when it says, "every man will be judged for his works," it means everyone, believer or not. Isn't there a verse somewhere that says, basically (because I have an awful memory) something about goats and sheep, the sheep to his right and the goats to his left? I don't know. Now, I don't know what you meant in, "People can believe what God is telling them now, in His Word, or they can believe it when it’s too late!" Because the Bible says, "Every man has been appointed to die once, then be judged." (somewhere in the NT) No offense or anything. I'm easily confused. Anyway. Now, asking which of the Trinity may be judging my be splitting hairs again; I think all three will judge because they make up one God. God is supreme, he knows what you did wrong, the Holy Spirit will testify, and Jesus will be the one cementing our fate; if he lived in us through the Holy Spirit or not, he'd know. Of course, the only thing I remember about judgement is us belivers are going to be judgers of angels, but that has nothing to do with this. : ) Oh yeah; I remember something else!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay…somewhere it says, again basically, "Everything we've done will be as if it's been passed through the fire when we are judged." The point is, whatever didn't make it though the fire is worthless. And I KNOW this verse is in the Bible; I spent a whole week thinking about it this year. Probably in the Johns or Corinthians? IDK. thanks for the wisdom! |

35 | Will there be night in heaven? | Revelation | 2Tim215 | 180364
Okay, I've been thinking. 1. We are saved FROM the Curse of sin, we are saved from the Law (because the law leads to death), and we are saved from death. Look in Hebrews for being saved from the law. Oh yeah, by the way. No offense!! I'm not very bright and I don't know what "eschatological" means…I can understand by the context, but please remember who you're "talking" to…thanks… anyway. 2. In fact, I don't think they SAY hell is seperation from God, but when you put two and two together, four comes pretty close. a. How can God possibly punish people in a place where He is? b. and besides, all the descriptions of hell (the fire doesn't go out, the worm never dies, etc) point to the absence of God. Why? c. In Job, we see Satan come before God and have to ask to torment the goldy man. Even Satan is bound by God's will (of course!) and a place without God is pure torment. No light, nothing to hope in, nothing to enjoy with a pure joy, no relief from pain, the list is endless. 3. "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES BEFORE THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME." (somewhere in the gospels) John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." I don't know, but that's pretty clear to me about what Jesus says in the way of eternal life. And I salute you for "Need I cite 2 Tim 2:15?" But I have a lot of friends who split hairs about what the bible says, instead of foucusing on the most important. Sometimes, we have to "debate" and discuss, but it must be in sacrifical love and submission. We cannot overlook misunderstandings, but must correct them in LOVE. thanks. |

36 | wife dating another married man secretly | Rom 13:14 | 2Tim215 | 180363
Well, it would be very suspicious, to say the least. It really depends on what the wife knows in her heart; if she knows she's betraying her husband, she is committing adultery. In the end, it's up to God; he is the judger of man's heart (somewhere in the new testament, but I can't remember the exact words).
37 | Whats a womens place in the Church? | 1 Tim 2:12 | 2Tim215 | 180361
I agree with both Adam and Eve being in the image of God. After all, He gave both genders the brain, soul, and authority over the earth (genesis 1:28). And I've never thought of man and woman being one body and the female is the inner organs…thanks… |

and you are absolutely right. I stand corrected, and I'm going to think for a very long time. one last question, just because I'm thinking, not because I want to jab at you. What if there is something that must be done–I must do it. But, there is no one to speak for me. What do I do? thanks. |

39 | from romans 6 12-14 two examples of sin | Rom 6:12 | 2Tim215 | 180302
We offer our bodies to God by doing what he wants us to do. Usually, it is sacrificing what WE want for what God wants. And I think you're on the right track. Keep digging! |

40 | from romans 6 12-14 two examples of sin | Rom 6:12 | 2Tim215 | 180300
I agree with others who have answered this question. My take is; we are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to God. That probably means everything we have is for Him to use as a sacrifice of Love (3 John something-or-other). Also, we are to be temples. I bet someone was asking Paul, "Should we go to the temple to worship God?" and Paul said, "Our bodies are temples. Take care of them." See, in the OT, the temple was where God's spirit lived. The priests offered sacrifices there, to where his spirit hung over the Ark of the Covenant. In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit lives IN us, instead of a huge gold building. So, since God's spirit is in us, Romans tells us to get rid of sins and un-godly things. "…For fresh water and salt water cannot flow from the same spring." (James 3:11-12) |
