I have a question concerning your comment. I know that i have been several different denominations and the ones that i went to had differng beliefs on how to baptize, on whether you are once saved always saved, or salvation is our choice, differing beliefs on what happens when you die, the transubstantiation or consubstantiation of communion, and other things.

24 | Women in the church | 1 Cor 14:34 | "Here I am Lord" | 109020
Maybe not exactly but in Timothy we see the qualifications of pastors and elders and it does refer to a man of one wife, and so being that man are to be the spiritual leaders and that the are to be the head of the house i do not see where women are to be the spiritual heads. Yet that is not saying that women cannot speak in church, i havn't seen other than in that one place where it could mean that.

Not a problem. One thing that is a comfort for me is that God is in charge and His plan will pravail. And even though this thing might seem insurmountable "anything is possible with God." We all have to forgive because Jesus tells us in Matt 13 that if we do not forgive God will not be able to forgive us. And we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, we all are in need of a redeemer. This world is a very dark place and Satan has made it very hard to truely find the truths in God's Word. I encourage you to continue studying and to not look to other people to find doctrine but only to the Bible. Millions of people died so that we could have the freedom to live by the Bible let us not take the blood that they and Jesus shed lightly. God Bless You as you follow in His steps Here I am Lord |

Hi, this is a question that a lot of people ask. And many people wonder why there are so many different types of denominations when the BIble says there is only one God, one baptism, one faith, and we all know that there is only one Bible. If you follow the history of the Reformation you can see where each denomination came from. We can start with the Waldenses who found the truth of following the Bible alone, Then HUss and Jerome who found the truth of obedience, the the one most people think of as the first one Martin Luther broke away from the Catholic church, and his new found truth was righteousness by faith and grace, then Calvin found the truth about Spiritual growth, then the Anabaptists- truth about baptism, Wesley - Holiness, and from those people and on down the line we have the other denominations. One thing that i have had to ask myself is to make sure that all my beliefes i can find and support from the Bible. So that when other people come and ask us, we can show them why we believe what we believe. There is a very interesting book that has changed many people's lives called "The Great Controversy" and it goes through the history of the early church from the reformation down the time line to our days today. If you look at each denominatio you will find different beliefs, but we have to always remember that the founders of the denominations were based on the Bible alone.

Yes there are many answers in the Bible concerning your question. In the story of the prodigal son found in Luke 15:11-32 we see how this mans son left him and scandered all of his money and his life as well, when the son came back the father made a great feast. The older son, who had not left was very upset, and the fathers response was that the older son had always been with him and could have had anything but the younger son (verse 32) was dead, and is now alive, was lost but is now found. This parable is refering also to our lives. We sometimes leave God and we are lost/dead, yet when we come back to Him we are found/ alive. Also, we can look at the life of Judas, when he first went to follow God i do not believe that he was lost yet at the last supper Jesus says that it would have been better if he had never been born at all. Matt 26:24 In Acts 16:30, 31 we can see where someone asked how to be saved, and the response was to believe on the Lord Jesus..." And in Acts 2:37, 38 Peter tells the people to "repent and be baptized" In the story of creation when Adam and Eve were created they were created perfect and intended to live forever, when Eve and Adam sinned, if they would have died then they would have been lost for they had disobeied God, yet from the gift of salvation and their repentance they were able to receive that gift of salvation. In the garden God gave them freedom of choice, He knew what was best for them but they choose the other way. In Galations 6 :7-8 it shows us that we reap what we sow. I hope that it helps. God Bless |

32 | Restoration of a fallen Pastor | Gen 1:1 | "Here I am Lord" | 108982
Hi, The main verses that i can think of are found in Matt 18: 15-17. Yet I would also like to say that the reason for doing this is for restoration not for discipline. It would be the best thing for everyone to have your pastor repent and be able to be brought back into the fold. In verse 17 it refers to treating them as heathens, now we have to remember how Jesus treated the heathens. He treated them with love in order to draw them to Him. That is what we are called to do with people who have left the faith or are unrepentant, we are to love them and minister to them to hopefully bring them back to God. I hope this brings some answers. God Bless You. Here I am Lord |
