21 | run, that ye may obtain. | 1 Cor 9:24 | teragram123 | 62546
1 Cor. 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. This clearly warns of not inheriting due to unclean living. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Holiness is NOT an OPTION! John 15:6-10 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. [8] Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. [9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. [10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Romans 11:17-20 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; [18] Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. [19] Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. [20] Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. [22] Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. [23] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. [24] For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? 1 Cor. 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. O that we let GOD be true and every man the liar! |

22 | being clean escaped | 2 Pet 2:20 | teragram123 | 62544
This does not sound like one that is unconditionally secure thought clearly saved from his sin at one time... “being clean escaped and after they have escaped the pollutions of the world” Truthfully we could never excuse this and say “they were never a clean sow/dog in the first place” Apostates will suffer the loss of their souls. Compare the parable of the sower.... seed took root... sprung up “for a while” Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. [6] And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. [7] And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. [8] And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. This clearly shows a beginning but a lack of “continuance” in the truth. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Luke 14:28-30 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 2 Cor. 8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. 58 TIME THE TERM “if ye” is used in the New Testament alone... saying that a promise hinges on a “condition” if ye .... 1 Thes. 3:8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. 1 Cor. 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? Rev. 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Rev. 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev. 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. What is implied to those DO NOT overcome? Apostasy is more than a falling, but rather a purposeful forsaking. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; FALLING AWAY - apostasia, defection from truth (properly the state) ["apostasy"] :- falling away, forsake One can not forsake what he has not yet embraced, nor fall away from what he never joined himself too. Compare Demos... Col. 4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. Philemon 1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers. Paul acted under the power of the gifts of the Spirit ... he would have “discerned a false believer” had Demas not “really been saved”. Yet we see that Demas became an apostate.. forsook Paul and returned to the “pollutions of the world” 2 Tim. 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. Paul compared the walk with Christ to a race... ONLY those that continue to the end win the prize. |

23 | made partakers | Heb 6:4 | teragram123 | 62543
These passages are written to the saints, believers, not the world. Clearly Paul warns of the danger of apostasy. Scripture warn that no sin shall enter Heaven. The words Paul uses are enlightened which mean to “illuminate, to make to see” Same word used in Hebrews 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; and in Ephes. 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ENLIGHTENED - photizo, to shed rays, i.e. to shine or (transitive) to brighten up (literal or figurative) :- enlighten, illuminate, (bring to, give) light, make to see. TASTED - geuomai, to taste; by implication to eat; figurative to experience (good or ill) :- eat, taste. PARTAKERS - metochos, participant, i.e. (as noun) a sharer; by implication an associate :- fellow, partaker, partner. These point clearly to a person that is saved. Those that support Unconditional security excuse the truly backslid believer by saying “well they probably were never really saved in the beginning” These verses are talking about one who sees, experiences, and partakes of Christ and then forsakes that truth. In other words... they trample the blood of the Christ. Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? TRAMPLE - katapateo, to trample down; figurative to reject with disdain :- trample, tread (down, underfoot). DESPITE - enubrizo, to insult :- do despite unto. A contrast to this is when men are blinded... John 12:39-40 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, [40] He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. The same word used for “tasted” is used in these following verses... and clearly refer to an experience. Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. John 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 1 Peter 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Same word used for “partakers” is used in Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Clearly this again is an experience. Many times the word “repent” is used in scripture, or perish 2 Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. These verses clearly warn of apostasy, falling away, forsaking the truth... [20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. [21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. [22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. |

24 | CONDITIONAL ETERNAL SECURITY | 2 Pet 1:10 | teragram123 | 62542
CONDITIONAL ETERNAL SECURITY Following is support of the belief of “conditional” eternal security... Faith must strive.. show itself by “works” One never looses his freedom of this choice to serve the Lord and choose righteousness. No glory is given to God when a so called believer is “locked into” a relationship and more than a person bound to a marriage where there is no love. Though the marriage remains intact to the natural eye, in essence, the marriage is no longer a working relationship. Relationship without love, results in bondage, not freedom. Christ has delivered us from bondage of sin, not merely to be in bondage to HIM. We remain with a freewill. Unconditional salvation removes the freewill. Many who claim this erroneous doctrine are heard saying “I couldn’t go to hell if I wanted to”. How foolish! Will a just a Holy God force someone to live eternally in a place he did not desire with his whole heart? Never has God said He had to prove His love to us beyond the sacrifice of love on the Cross of Calvary; but many times and many ways He cried to the heart of His followers. “if” you love me, keep my commandments. Love is not proven by a relationship that cannot be unbroken. Obedience must have the freewill option to disobey or else the freedom of choice is taken away. It is not longer obedience but slavery and bondage. Only by the element of freedom to disobey, does obedience shine forth as an act of love. If one can never “loose” his salvation, satan would have no reason to tempt, indeed there would be not temptation if one could not “forsake” the way. God never forces His followers to follow, they freely choose and freely “continue”. The references that are often used to support the “Un conditional Eternal Security” view are: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The New Testament teaches the possibility of backsliding from and forsaking of the truth. Apostasy - “falling away”.. abandonment of the revealed truth. Exodus 12:21-23 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. [22] And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. [23] For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. This passage is referred to by Paul as a type of the “Passover Lamb - Christ” 1 Cor. 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: These “believers were warned very clearly to “Remain” under the protection or be destroyed by the death angel. Hebrews 6:1-9 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, [2] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. [3] And this will we do, if God permit. [4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, [5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, [6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. [7] For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: [8] But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. [9] But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. |

26 | True repentance | Acts 2:38 | teragram123 | 62099
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Repent means far more than being sorry for the deed done, because of just punishment. It is a changed mind toward that sin, and a commitment to abandon it permanently Repent - Greek 3340, Strong's - metanoeo, to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider (moral feel compunction) :- repent. "TRUE REPENTANCE True repentance has a distinct and constant reference to the Lord Jesus Christ. If you repent of sin without looking to Christ, repentance is shallow. If you are so lamenting your sin as to forget the Savior, you have a need to Whenever we repent of sin we must have one eye upon sin and another upon the cross; or, better still, let us have both eyes upon Christ, seeing our sin punished in Him, and by no means let us look at sin except as we look at Jesus. A man may hate sin just as a murderer hates the gallows but this does not prove repentance if I hate sin because of the punishment, I have not repented of sin; I merely regret that God is just. But if I can see sin as an offense against Jesus Christ, and loathe myself because I have wounded Him, then I have a true brokenness of heart. If I see the Savior and believe that those thorns upon His head were put there by my sinful works; if I believe that those wounds in His heart were pierced by my heart-sins; if I believe that those wounds in His feet were made by my wandering steps, and that the wounds in His hands were made by my sinful deeds, then I repent after a right fashion. Only under the cross can you repent. Repentance elsewhere is remorse, which clings to the sin and only dreads the punishment. Let us then seek, under God, to have a hatred of sin caused by sight of Christ's love." ---author unknown |

27 | title deed to the earth | Matt 4:8 | teragram123 | 60301
It is clear in this passage that Christ did not refute the statement that satan had made.. that he had the claim of the earth and could give it over to Christ without Him having to go to the Cross. The title deed to the earth was held at this time by satan, but Christ would soon win it from him in the battle on the cross and lead captivity captive. |

The fruit of ones life is the truest indicator of the author of the life... if one is truly born again from above. To say one is wise yet lack the fear of the Lord is be but a fool in deeds. The righteous man is known by his deeds. Yet so many believers claim to be children of the most holy God and continue to walk in carnality and darkness without the slightest concern. I AM is Holy Christian We serve a Holy God His life overflows with Holiness We stand on Holy sod I AM is Holy Christian Holiness comes from Him Thus people can not Holy be Unless they have been born again I AM is Holy Christian His beauty awes life’s powers And real untainted beauty comes When His life shines thru ours I AM is Holy Christian We serve the Holy One The essence is He hates all sin He hates what sin has done I AM is Holy Christian O that this truth were known All mankind and all would fall And worship at HIS throne. 32 | Christ did not do away with the tithe | Gen 14:20 | teragram123 | 59588
Genesis 14:18-20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. [19] And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: [20] And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. It is interesting to note that those that do not want to give a tithe will claim they are not under the law but Grace. Yet this action of Abraham to Melchizedek was about 400 years before the law came into being. Christ was after the order of Melchizedek and not after that of Aaron. which symbolizes the law. Hebrews 7:1-10 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, [2] and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace." [3] Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever. [4] Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder! [5] Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people--that is, their brothers--even though their brothers are descended from Abraham. [6] This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. [7] And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater. [8] In the one case, the tenth is collected by men who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living. [9] One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham, [10] because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor. Psalm 110:4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 5:6 And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." Christ did not do away with the tithe which means a tenth. Luke 11:42 "Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter “ without leaving the former undone” |

sacrifice of leaders con't... Pastor Francis Frangipane's Weekly Message August 30, 2002 TOMORROW'S LEADERS, TODAY'S SACRIFICE The oak tree grows out of the grave of the acorn. Return to the Cross Those who will be tomorrow's leaders will pay God's price today. Other How does a disciple actually suffer with Christ? At the core of our existence, we choose to let the way of Christ guide us rather than the way of man. The cross is the cost we pay so Christ's redemption will succeed. Our cross puts to death our self-preservation instincts, as well as our fleshly ideas and ambitions. Before Jesus will truly manifest in power in our lives, He requires an end to striving with our flesh. Self must die for Christ to manifest in power. If we will become those to whom God entrusts His kingdom, we must envision ourselves crucified. We must purpose to see Christ revealed and living within us. And we must see the time of extended preparation, however long it takes, as fundamental to our future success. Consider: Jesus lived thirty years of surrendered obscurity. Yet His life was not hidden from God; His life was hidden in God. Without outward signs or works of power, inwardly Jesus carried a cross. Daily, He chose to die to the voice of self-interest; without interruption, He lived in the warmth of His Father's pleasure. As a blue collar worker, in the mundane tasks of human existence, Jesus' life increased the bliss of God. How did He, not as a miracle worker but as a wood worker, attract the Father's unswerving focus? Jesus never silenced the voice of love nor separated His heart from its trust in God. We, too, must not assume that because men do not acknowledge us that God Himself is indifferent. If we are truly living for God, He will notice. If we are genuinely living in pursuit of Him, He will certainly measure our progress and, in time, reward our hunger with His substance. It is Needful that We Die to Self It is easy to be false, but only with difficulty do we become true followers of Jesus Christ. If we would have the Spirit of God become real to us, we must first become real with Him. Our superficiality must die and our outer man buried. Yes, we are sheltered in the Father's love, but His love does not protect us from growing up. His sheltering presence keeps us from evil, but it does not keep us from having to change. Thus, part of God's provision, even in the midst of our blessedness, is the crucifixion of our old nature. Indeed, to facilitate this death process, Christ accommodates the adversarial conflicts which come against us and uses them to perfect us. We cry, "God, protect me." But the Almighty seeks not so much to protect us, but to perfect us. Our perfection, our maturity, our conformity to Christ's faith, love and character is the protection offered by the Father. You see, there are enemies in our lives from whom God has no intention of delivering us until we have changed. They are specifically and divinely allowed, for they attack and destroy that element of our nature that lives outside of our conformity to Christ. In other words, you will always have people slandering you until you are un-manipulated by the words of man. You will frequently have people who curse you until you learn to bless them, and not react. |

In other words, you will always have people slandering you until you are un-manipulated by the words of man. You will frequently have people who curse you until you learn to bless them, and not react. |

35 | Isn't adultrey grounds for divorce? | Hosea | teragram123 | 58197
I am sorry if my response came across as uncaring. I care too much at times and get very involved in the fight to keep marriages together... not merely defend the excuse so many use today for divorce. I have found that most people claiming the divorce clause had lost the luster of their marriage long before the excuse came about and jumped at the way out... saying Christ made the way out. Did not Christ tell the Pharisees that it was not so in the beginning? Besides if adultery is the only clause for Christians to divorce... why is it not the reason that is put before the divorce court? Everything else is named against the spouse. .. but again as Christians are we to go to court one against another? I find it rather hard to take a spouse to court and still fulfill the Love verse... 1 Cor. 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. [5] It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. [6] Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. [7] It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. [8] Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. But again... if most be honest with their own heart... they were getting burned out on the relationship long before the unfaithfulness came in.... could it be the reason for the unfaithfulness? Maybe we should rename the reason for divorce- selfishness, or love-less- ness? Vows are made on the mountain tops and walked out in the valleys of our life. No body needs a vow on their wedding night... but years later when there just isn’t the spark (lust? maybe?) left in the relationship. That is the very reason the vows were made in the first place... correct? |
