21 | Where and when did Gentiles originate? | Bible general Archive 4 | son of god | 207842
Abraham came from Mesopotamia, when God called him to come out from among his kidred in Gen. chap 12 Abraham was a desendant of Shem. Noah had three sons and there are only three basic races of man on the earth. everyone else is a product of climate and geographical location. God chose The Jews through Abraham to reveal himself to his creation, how we should live and worship God. In Acts 17:26 Paul says that all men are of one blood, meaning Adam. of the four basic blood types all four are found in all three races. So your question should have been where did semites come from? NO!, I am not anti semite, after all Jesus was a Jew.
22 | Why is death God's enemy? | 1 Cor 15:25 | son of god | 207773
I dont feel that the bible ever contridicts itself, thats why it is called a two edged sword because it discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. it only appears as a contridiction when we bring our own agenda to it and take it out of context. in Romans 8:29 Paul says For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn of many brothern. This is justified by Christ statement in Matt.25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepard divideth his sheep from the goats: That is also the sentiment of Matt.13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. If people feel they may loose thier salvation, that means they probably do not have any to loose. For without faith it is imposible to please God Hebrews 11:6. |

Thanks a lot Cheri, thats the most intelligent response I have ever heard about that; but I have always been content with Deuteronomy 29:29 to satisfy my curiosity about things that can not be explained, rather than just wild speculation. Shalom to you, and keep up the good work |

24 | Questioning Apostasy | John 10:28 | son of god | 207667
Not wanting to debate either, but this is why people church hop because they are not committed to anything in particular especially the Lord. What I am trying to convey is that church membership is like belonging to a social club and does not mean one is a true believer. a true disciple that is a disciple indeed does not get offended by his brother to the point of comming to blows, which is why some fall away. I know people that have left the faith because they could not get along with anyone.
25 | Heb6:4-6 Loosing salvation or what? | Heb 6:4 | son of god | 207665
In what way did I mis-qoute the text Hebrews 5:14 KJV,but strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil? meat being the word of God in its entirety and not just selected scripture that fit our agenda.Sometimes when we disagree or are convicted by something we hear or see what we want to hear or see. I was illustrating to the sister what the text was saying, you may call it paraphrasing which is what most bible translations do. The point of OUR discussion is she asked me to demonstrate why I chose one version over another
26 | Heb6:4-6 Loosing salvation or what? | Heb 6:4 | son of god | 207648
.You ask what version do I ascribe to I personally prefer the traditional King James Version. I am going to give you an example of what I am saying in Hebrews 5:14 KJV it says a mature christian can discren both good and evil as two seperate entities because good is not alway good and evil is not alway evil, note most other translations use the phrase discern BETWEEN good and evil. for example we have nit-pickers in the SBF and though they think they are being clever they are just plain mean spirited.
27 | Why is death God's enemy? | 1 Cor 15:25 | son of god | 207645
Christ was not necessarily afraid of death itself, he knew he would be ressurected, thats why he said destroy this temple and in three days I will rebuild it.John 2:19 when he said let this cup pass from me he was talking about taking on the sins of the world and being scouraged.
28 | Heb6:4-6 Loosing salvation or what? | Heb 6:4 | son of god | 207643
Hebrews 6:4-6 is all a part of a longer passage begginning at 5:13 through 6:12 the Hebrew writter is addressing Christian immaturity. . This is why Jesus teaches us to pray give us this day. there is a fundamental difference between daily forgiveness and etrnal salvation.

30 | Why were they called wise/foolish virgin | Matthew | son of god | 207497
the designation virgin has nothing to do with sex! In scripture an unmarried woman was called a virgin see I Corinthians chapter 7, if christ is the bridegroom which he is then no one is married until he comes. get your mind out of the gutter. The foolish ones were the ones not prepared for the Lords comming.

34 | Is church membership biblical? | Heb 10:25 | son of god | 207327
is church membership biblical? I would that the whole of the book of Acts is about the unity of the body of Christ. That in connection with Hebrews 10:25 confirms that very Yes Church membership is biblical. The purpose of this comming together is to build each other up(edify) that we may be more effective witnesses. Though materialist will dispute this but that is what God meant by meat in mine house back in Malachi.
35 | Sheol Hell or World of the Dead? | Eccl 8:14 | son of god | 207325
In the story of Lazarus and Dives, Hades rendered Hell is a region of of departed spitits it corresponds to Sheol in the old testament, keep in mind this all took place before the ascention of Christ.
36 | pure isrealite | Matt 1:1 | son of god | 207303
Jesus was born in Betleham of Judea as was prophesied in Micah 5:2, but that alone does not confirm that his blood line was pure Isrealite. My mother was born in Dallas,Texas and my grandmother was born in Tyler,Texas, but I was born in New York city and lived there for many years when I became an adult, but I was raised and educated in Texas. Does this make me a New Yorker or a Texan? Yes God chose the Jewish people to reveal himself to man. Thats why Issac was the son of promise and not Ishmeal as some Arabs would have us believe. But Jesus was a composite man. composed of every race known to man. We can make scripture say anything we want to believe. Your reference in 1st Peter2:9,10 is refering to the Church not Isreal, this is just a restatemnt of what he told Isreal in Dueteronomy 10:15. weigh that with Hebrews 7:12. Lets examine Romans 9:24-10:4, now as for sister Bathsheba lets look at Song of Solomon chapter 1
37 | pure isrealite | Matt 1:1 | son of god | 207205
this post is for brother Jim I believe you said that Jesus ancestry was pure Isrealite. here in Matthew chapter 1, aside from Rahab, we see Ruth the Moabites and Bathsheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite, even though this is the lineage of Joeseph, this is also Jesus connection to the thrown of David. Though it can be argued that Mary too was of the house David, in the big picture what is the significance? are we not all Abrahams seed Acts 17:26 This is probably why Paul tells us in 1st Timothy 1:4 not to give heed to endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than Godly edifying.
38 | too deep | 1 Tim 1:4 | son of god | 207202
Brother Hank, I enjoyed your story of the old and young preachers. Your post was very well put.I suppose the phrase Bible trivia is a poor choice of words.I believe what Paul was saying is that when we focus on the old covenent, we trivialize the redeemptive work of Christ. Yes indeed all scripture is God-Breath 2nd Timothy 3:16 and there is nothing trivial about the Lord God Almighty
39 | too deep | 1 Tim 1:4 | son of god | 207171
To all my brothers and sisters that obsess with how many generations from prophet A to prophet B and who was king of what tribe and when and all other manner of bible trivia, while I commend you on your zeal know the innermost things of God,beware of allowing knowledge to become an idol, rather concern yourselves with things having to do with salvation and walking in brotherly love and unity of the body of Christ. conentrate on pauls admonision to Timothy I Timothy 1:4,5,6,7.dont try to be soo deep!
40 | After death is spirit with w / you? | 2 Corinthians | son of god | 206965
Necromancy- is the art of conjuring up the spirits of the dead, for the purpose of revealing the future. this is straight from the devil. It is also called divination or demonology. The first record of this practice is found in Deuteronomy 18:9-12 it was strickly forbidden by God. In the new testament in Acts 16 Paul cast out a spirit of divination out of a young girl and was cast in jail and the Holy Spirit freed Paul and Silas and God got the glory. please stay away from soothsayers, the ocult and devil worshippers.
