21 | If not saved and suicide done Lost??? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 234161
Mikep, If one believes and yet does not practice the conviction is the major point. One must follow through to receive. There is no eternal life until after death. |

22 | If not saved and suicide done Lost??? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 234146
Mikep, Eternal life is not received until AFTER death. The act of suicide is before death. See St.Luke 9-62....et al. This applies as well to the question of..."once saved always saved". We must not confuse preparation/qualifying/eligibility for eternal life with receiving eternal life. |

Will be glad to post them. In the meantime...have you read the complete Bible? If so, what version? |

Justme, I suggest we discuss G-d's word and stay away from playing psychologist. Please avoid directing me/someone on how to answer a question. I don't chase rabbits...I allow my beagles to do that. They are better than me. Respectfully. |

30 | Book of Life | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 233155
Citations for application of... common sense... when it comes to G-d's word were requested. They were provided. All versions are available on line. Thus, assessible to those here. I am still waiting for the poster who said baptism is not necessary to provide citations from the Bible. Is that a concern of yours also? |

You may wish to review these examples; Jere. 49-7 CEV Prov. 3-21 CEV 8;14 NLT, 21-16 NLT, 11-9 MSG. 2-6 CEV There are numerous others.... should they be needed for your understanding of the point made. |

Doc, I give wide birth for individual knowledge of the Bible before citations. Most here have read the Bible and can relate...some cannot and I am always ready to assist those when properly requested. I am still waiting on Bible references from the poster who questions the need for baptism under G-d'S word. |

What Bible version are you quoting?
34 | Book of Life | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 233117
Doc, Your inference that I use intel other than G-d's word is troubling, to say the least. Consenus as to methodology is usually a challenge. I use the Bible to garner understanding. Secondary/residual writings rarely get my attention. We must remember G-d charges each of us to reach our own conclusions from His word ...which includes intent by use of common sense. |

35 | 1. Is God sovereign? 2.) Free Will? | Job 1:8 | G. Preston | 233115
Azure, Scriptual support is contained in the Bible which clearly delineates...."G-d as Creator of all". That is basic to belief in G-d. I don't believe in responding to everyone as if they know nothing of the Bible...it is often received as.... demeaning. |

36 | Book of Life | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 233113
Doc, This is very basic...am I to understand that you disagree with the conclusion? If so why? |
||||||
37 | 1. Is God sovereign? 2.) Free Will? | Job 1:8 | G. Preston | 233112
Doc, I suggest when incomplete quotes are used it is out of context and can be misleading. In context the quote would be; "If you wish to reject that assertion...please give me your opinion of why G-d created satan?" Am I to conclude that you reject the assertion? I can address your additional commentary later. |

38 | 1. Is God sovereign? 2.) Free Will? | Job 1:8 | G. Preston | 233107
Searcher, LOL... study of all history tells me that scholars and sect leaders are not always correct and their positions must be considered in view of their motovation and objectives. Where Bible doctrine is absent from understanding....how does one reach a conclusion? I don't share your thought that common sense is "dangerous and foolishness" ..even when it comes to Bible study. Example, many believe the 2nd advent of Christ is when the rapture occurs. They opine the Bible is not totally clear. However, common sense tells me that the 2nd advent of Christ will not be for a split second, a blink of the eye ...if you will..and then His presence on earth ends. That does not pass the application test of common sense for purpose. |

39 | Why does God respect Satan's opinion | Job 1:8 | G. Preston | 233106
Tim, Point well emphasized. No one should try. I am convinced G-d had the Bible written the way it is to foster study, debate, discussion, etc. But, one thing is crystal clear....how we are to prepare ourselves and live in order to receive eternal salvation. It is not ours to explain G-ds' actions. |

40 | 1. Is God sovereign? 2.) Free Will? | Job 1:8 | G. Preston | 233104
Doc, Apology not necessary. I give no equal respect (there is no basis under which I would do such) when referencing G-d. G-d stands alone in my reverence. |
