21 | What's Hebrew for soulWhere in Scripture | Gen 2:7 | Asis | 97967
Tara1 The Hebrew word for spirit is RUWACH. It means wind and is the word used for breath in Gen 6:17. In Gen 7:22 the word translated breath is NESHAMAH which means a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect, or (concrete) an animal :- blast, (that) breath (-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit. Is the point of your question whether animals have a spirit? God at the flood allowed those who had breath, the breath of life, that He did not save to die in the flood. He saved for Himself a remnant of the whole. In relation to the numbers that died compared to the small number He saved He refered the those who died as all (a Figure of speech). The difference between the animals and man is the breath of God (the hebrew word means breath and spirit). The Bible does not say that the animals got the breath of God. The context of the verses you cited shows in one respect man living under the old covenant and animals have one thing in common. They all die. BUT NOW we are living under a New and Better Covenant and have received the life of God, eternal life. In other words Jesus life was given for us not the animals. This is not offered to animals only us. That is the only difference that matters. Asis |

What is the everlasting covenant that the bow represents? Genesis 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. [KJV] Everytime I see the bow I remember that God will not destroy us with a flood ever again. I am reminded that God's wrath will come with fire. 2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. [KJV] We must be ready to be a witness (martyr) to everyone we meet. We must be ready to give evidence by our lives (the way we live), the way we face adversity, the way we love one another, the way we forgive, of the gospel of the Kingdom of God. When you see the bow acknowledge God as the creator and be reminded the time is short. |

24 | Do altars belong in christian churches? | Ex 17:15 | Asis | 97754
John The altar at a church is a place where we can give to God that which we desire to be rid of. I know that we don't really need a place to lay down that thing which we hold dearer than our Lord. We can give to Him whatever is coming between us and God anywhere. But the altar is a symbol much like water baptism, of a place where we can offer up that which holds us down. If a platform called an altar is needed for my brother to lay down pornograghy then build a lots of platforms. I do not believe that believers go to an altar in a church to make a sacrifice to God. It is a place where we partake of the sacrifice God has given for us. Jeff |

25 | Unclean food for the Christian? | Lev 1:1 | Asis | 105981
Brother Tim How does Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [KJV] fit in with what you are saying? Jesus seems to be telling us that the Law will stay in effect until the end of the age. I think that we as believers are not under the Law of sin and death but now are under a new Law, the law of the Spirit of life (Romans 8:2). Is it possible that when we try to do this "walk" by our own understanding and in our own effort that we place ourselves back under the Law that is still in effect for non-believers? The Law was the way to righteousness. A way that none of us could completely follow. A way of works. The purpose of the law was to show us that we, in our own effort, could not attain that which only Jesus was able to do, BE RIGHTEOUS. By our own inability to ovserve the Law in it entirety we learn how much sin is in control of our lives. We find that is is only through Jesus that we are able to attain the unattainable. Romans 3:21-28 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; [22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26] To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. [27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. [28] Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. [KJV] So now I understand that we are no longer under the law of sin and death but have a new and better contract the law of the Spirit of life. Not that the law has been abolished but that it has been superceded. In Christ Jeff |

Of course. I could never have learned about the Lord if I had stopped asking questions. Yours are all very good. Ask God for ALL He has to give you, then receive that which He gives. James 1:5-6 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. [6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. [KJV] I hope you didn't weep with sadness but with the realization that God has worked a wonder in you. The tears of a humble heart. Praise God |

27 | Is Satan ruler over the earth? | Ps 24:1 | Asis | 83712
Psa. 115:16 (NASB) The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men. Col. 1:13 through Col. 1:14 (NASB) 13For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Domain according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary means 1 a : complete and absolute ownership of land -- compare EMINENT DOMAIN b : land so owned 2 : a territory over which dominion is exercised Who, I might ask, is the head, the ruler of the domain of darkness and where is that domain located. Jesus says: John 12:27 through John 12:33 (NASB) 27“Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.” 30Jesus answered and said, “This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. 31“Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” 33But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die. Who is Jesus talking about when He said "The ruler of this world?" John 14:30 through John 14:31 (NASB) 30“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; 31but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here. Who is it that "finds nothing in Jesus." John 16:7 through John 16:11 (NASB) 7“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8“And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. What is the name of the ruler of this world that has been judged. And come to think about it how did he become ruler of this word since God gave dominion of the earth to man (Genesis 1:26,27). NOW the enemy, the devil, satan is powerless thanks to our LORD and SAVIOR mighty JESUS. Heb. 2:14 through Heb. 2:18 (YLT) 14Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he himself also in like manner did take part of the same, that through death he might destroy him having the power of death—that is, the devil—15and might deliver those, whoever, with fear of death, throughout all their life, were subjects of bondage, 16for, doubtless, of messengers it doth not lay hold, but of seed of Abraham it layeth hold, 17wherefore it did behove him in all things to be made like to the brethren, that he might become a kind and stedfast chief-priest in the things with God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people, 18for in that he suffered, himself being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted. Jesus has made satan powerless. I sometimes wonder where that happened. In Hades maybe? The only power that satan has is the power we give him. In my reading of Neil Anderson's books "Victory Over the Darkness" and "The Bondage Breaker," (by the way that is Jesus) I cannot recall reading that Dr. Anderson said that satan has authority over man NOW. satan was ruler but no more. We have a King in absentia who has given His stewards dominion to rule in righteousness until His return. For more information read the BIBLE |

28 | Thanks to God? | Ps 30:12 | Asis | 85266
justme Three years ago I started to have signs of a heart attack. I prayed that God would not allow it to come to pass. I had been praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. I was quiting smoking and I was starting an extreme diet in two days, I had turned from my wicked ways. The pains seemed to go away and I thanked God and praised Him. I slept good that night. In the mornig on my way to work the pain came back. Much worse than the night before. I feel that I was afraid to acknowledge that I might die from this. Now here is the point of my story. I became aware that if I died because of this I would be with Jesus and if God wasn't finished using me for the work He had for me I wasn't going to die. Either way that was a good thing. It was a win-win situation. A peace fell upon me so great that when I went into my bosses office and told him I was having a heart attack and he should call 911 he did not believe me. Lord, I ask that the peace that is beyind all understanding would come upon justme right now. Your word says That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. God even thopugh we cannot see each other we are gathering in the name of Jesus and we ask for healing for Ray and justme. Lord we are touching ion our heart as if we are in contact like my wife and I just were, agreeing in petition for justme and Ray. Lord I thank you that you are a God that answers prayer. We look to you for our provision. You are the healer, the great physician. We thank you for your touch upon justme and Ray. Praise you Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Jira, Jehovah Shalom. We come before you in the name of you precious Son Jesus. |

29 | Spirit or spirit? John 6:63 | Prov 5:21 | Asis | 101016
mommapbs We indeed need a spiritual understanding to realize that everything that comes our way is used to bring us to believe God. If I "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. [8] It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. [9] Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: [10] So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."Proverbs 3:5-10 [KJV] then I don't think it is failure God has in mind for us/me. We should not be trying to figure out what God is doing in our lives, but rather letting God do what He wants. I don't want to know God in my humanness rather I want to know him in my spirit man, my inner man, be a spiritual man. As I know Him this way then I can let go and let God. When I let God He gives us the eternal perspective. Your brother Jeff |

30 | Spirit or spirit? John 6:63 | Prov 5:21 | Asis | 101175
Ray I stand with my capitalization of the word spirit. The Spirit of God , the Holy Spirit quickens our spirit. Then we can discern, understand spiritual things. Everything I wrote after Jesus says is what Jesus says, my paraphrase. Have you thought about the book I mentioned Word Study on the Holy Spirit by Bullinger. My friend from IL sent me my copy. It is interesting. I will read the string and join in thank you for asking. Asis |

31 | God's children do revolt | Is 1:2 | Asis | 80424

32 | God's children do revolt | Is 1:2 | Asis | 80481
The point is they will be grafted in and are welcomed by God now. We must be careful with what we teach and say to those babes in the faith NO ONE IS EXCLUDED even those who have turned their backs on God's Messiah. In fact we should be grateful that the Jews play the harlot for it is by their rejection of Messiah that the offer of salvation has been given to the non Jew, the gentile. God has made a perfect plan and we spend so much time trying to figure it out rather than resting in the reality that He is in control. It is more important to get right with God than to figure out the day and the time. I'm not down playing the study of scripture particularly the Old Testament. It proves the faithfulness of God. It is a lesson for the Jews to see their error and more and more they are having the veil lifted from their eyes. We are in a time where God is offering to all who will believe to become a Jew, a believer in Jehovah.
33 | God's children do revolt | Is 1:2 | Asis | 80587
Hello CDJB Let me thank you for your response to what I wrote. It has caused me to think about the times. Times are coming to a close. Not all prophecy is fulfilled with the snap of God's fingers. Jesus fulfilled Is 61 in part and we fulfill it in part. Don't the conversions of many Jews fulfill what is spoken of in Romans 11:25-26. Are we being blinded so we cannot see the move of God? I cannot prove by scripture what I said. 2 Cor. 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. We must be careful not to miss the spirit of the word and only live by the letter. It can be very easy to become legalistic and miss the spirit behind the word of God. Is the time of the Gentile coming to an end - Yes. Is Israel being restored by the Jew beleiving - Yes. Will Christ return Now - I hope so, could be, not for us to know. Are we ready? God will judge but my prayer is we are. 2 Cor. 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. The veil (vail) has been removed from my eyes and many other Jews. God calls on all of us to come to Him. |

35 | Please, a straight answer!!! | Is 53:5 | Asis | 84703
Hank are you saying that Jesus' instructions to the disciples (and I think I am included) were not for now but only for the short time that the 12 were alive. Mark 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [KJV] It seems to me that the "they" are the "them that believe". If it is "them that believe" then that is us. Are you saying that Jesus didn't mean what he said? Or are "them that believe" only the 12. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [KJV] In verse 4 the word "grief" is sickness, maladay, calamity according to Strong. In Isaiah 1:5 the Hebrew word choliy (the same word translated grief in 53;4), is translated "sickness", also in Isaih 38:9. I guess I'm not following your connection that the word translated grief, which means sickness, is about spiritual healing and not physical, and that God does not heal today like He healed in the days the 12 were alive. The reason for my confusion is that God touched me after my last heart attack and healed my heart. I admit that Benny Hin was not in the room at the time and I was not dressed all in white, but the same God was in my room that was in the arena with Benny Hinn when my wife was touched by God. I have experienced the work of the Holy Spirit as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:9. Could you explain your exegesis. Brother Jeff |

37 | What does "the kingdom of God is at hand | Matthew | Asis | 81681
This is the gospel that Jesus preached. Matthew 4:23 (NIV) 23Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. It was why He was sent. Luke 4:42 through Luke 4:44 (KJV) 42And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. 44And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee. Jesus' life exemplified Kingdom living. If we want to know what Kingdom life is, all we have to do is look at the life opf Jesus. He tells how we are to BE in the Kingdom in the "Be Attitudes". Jesus said He is the door. The door into the kingdom. No one cane see the kingdom unless they be born again. He told us to first seek His kingdom (Matt. 6:33). We need only read the New Testament to know the secrets of the Kingdom. Matthew 13:11 through Matthew 13:12 (NIV) 11He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. We are in the Kingdom NOW. Colossians 1:13 through Colossians 1:14 (NIV) 13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption,£ the forgiveness of sins. There is much, much more. Matthew 24:14 (NASB) 14“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. |
