21 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | Arnie | 42308
Hi John, I say "Amen" to your statement: believe that because of our love and gratitude toward our Lord Jesus and through the grace of God we will desire to be obedient to all of the commandments. But thank God we will not be judged according to our ability to keep them. The problem I find is if we don't try to live by the commandments just exactly as God has given them to us, men will keep them in the manner THEY THINK they should, which means they will ultimately justify not keeping them at all. Satan in the Garden of Eden deceived Eve and Adam by telling half truths, Telling Eve that if she ate of the fruit of the tree she wouldn't die (false) that she would become like God, knowing good and evil(true). We should obey God in the manner He tells us, not be deceived into beleiving half truthss, We indeed will fall short, but we never give up nor make excuses for our selfs, we dare not CHANGE HIS PRICELESS WAY OF LIFE. Greetings John, When you read col 2:17 in the KJV you get a little different veiw regarding the Sabbath day and being judged. Col 2:16-17 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. KJV In verse 17 the word "is" has been added, it dosen't belong there. When you read it without the "is' you find that the "body of Christ" (the church) should be the judge in those matters. Arnie |

25 | God IS love, what IS love? | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 42231
Dear Meusing, I'm looking for something more definitive, If you say "all that God is" your right of course, but that leaves to much to the human mind to decide what "all that what God is". Arnie |

26 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | Arnie | 42222
Dear John, Faith alone? In James he says that works are required with faith. What kind of "works" would these be, certainly not our ideas, but the standard that was given by God.

Dear JdthCstl, Can we use the same reasoning for the rest of the commandments? We can steal, but those who don't steal in remembrance of a commandment are ok, we can go through each commandment with the same reasoning. You can see where were going with this. Arnie |

28 | Crucified with Christ | Luke 24:45 | Arnie | 42165
Scott, yes it is, The problem I have is just as we are crucified with Christ on the cross, I find I keep wanting to come down off the cross and do my own will, or when we are baptized in to His death, I want to keep coming up out of the water. But thanks be to Christ and to God our Father for their long suffering toward me, and the grace I have been given. I believe we come to start understanding His will when we are ready to give up this life at repentance, come to realize that our natural mind will only bring damnation, and accept the very mind of Christ in us. 29 | Can a man know God without a Bible? | Rom 10:17 | Arnie | 42162
Searcher56, I believe the two verses do not conflict, God will reveal himself to all men as it says in Romans 1;16ff and indeed God will send His faithful ministery to reveal His truth, the problem that usually occurs is that MEN put a time frame on Gods salvation. Men limit God's power to save.
30 | Was Jesus Christ the God of the Old Test | 1 Cor 10:4 | Arnie | 41690
Dear Ray, Thanks, what I find most interesting is that Christ entered into a marriage covenant with Israel, at Mount Sinai, Israel promised to faithfully obey all the commandments of God only to fail miserably, the part I find interesting, (I would like your comments) is Christ must have known that Israel would fail. Rom 9:32-33 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. KJV Why would He enter into a relationship knowing it would fail? Arnie |

Dear Joe, Did Adam and Eve know that they were not to eat of the forbidden fruit by seeing Gods great eternal power in the creation or did God TELL THEM they were not to eat of the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil" God has always used a human instrument (angels in some cases) to tell/ reveal is truth. I have posted romans 1o:13-15 which plainly tells us that we are taught the gospel by God sending someone to teach us. Rom 10:13-15 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! KJV You asked if I think reincarnation or spirit prison is the second chance, no, I certainly don't, I believe those who haven't been given the first chance will be RESURRECTED IN THE FLESH, i find that in Ezk 37. Ezek 37:1-14 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. 4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. 11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. KJV This is a PHYSICAL RESURRECTION. Arnie |

33 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41403
Dear Joe, You call what I believe nonsense, I am new to this forum, I find most posting and replies interesting, I certainly don't agree with everything I've read but I don't think I would respond to them by calling their post nonsense. I know Christ was accused of blaspheming God the Father, Paul was accused of heresy, what is most interesting is that when Christ came with the gospel, it wasn't the Romans (the people you say are doomed to eternal hell fire) who were offended by His message it was those who were the "Experts" in religeous matters. Let me respond the same way Paul did, Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: KJV Arnie |

Dear Joe, "Romans 1 makes it very clear that every single human being who is able to perceive creation around them in any fashion has received God's revelation." your using verse 20 to make this, well the very next verse tells who hes talking about, Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, KJV Which God is he referring to? ALLAH? Romans 1 is talking about people who have come to know the truth and rejected it. Arnie |

37 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41350
Dear Joe, Its context is Paul telling Timothy that prayers, supplication, and intercesssions and giving thanks be made for ALL MEN. He then goes on and mentions Kings and all in authority. He tell Timothy that this is Good and acceptable with are Savior. Its sound to me like when he says God wants ALL MEN to be saved Thats just what it means, God would have ALL MEN to be saved. I think the omnipotent God I have come to know is capable of saving all ( I think it will be most of humanity WHEN they come to know Christ) who want to give up their own lives and put on our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Joe, I agree that we do not deserve the gifts from God. They are just that gifts. I'm not really shifting gears regarding another day of salvation, we can put several different candidates in line who have never had a first chance to know the truth, to accept Christ. 16 year old muslim suicide bombers, unborn children, children who have died young, anyone who has never been taught the truth, no fault of their own.
