21 | raising the dead- no possible today?? | Matt 16:24 | teragram123 | 54828
God has not changed. His promises are still for us. The problem lies within the believers. We in USA have been fed a diet of prosperity and an easy cross, live anyway you want and have Heaven too... USA is under a deceptive gospel. The book of Acts portrays a far differant gospel than what the USA church is believing. 2 Tim. 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Many miracles are indeed taking place in other countries even the dead being raised! here is a good teaching site...http://www.watchman.ca/ |

22 | Should We Get Married Again? | Matt 19:4 | teragram123 | 55526
1 Cor. 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: [11] But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. No sin is unpardonable accept one - Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Even if he was unfaithful to his vows during separation... Christians are given the ministry of reconciliation... by grace given us we can and should forgive others...no matter the sin. 2 Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; charis, Greek 5485, Strong's - the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; Many say I can't forgive them... but that is where we need nore grace... divine influence in the heart reflecting into our lives. Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. If we want grace toward our sin - we must be willing to extend grace toward another's sin as well. Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Marriage is a sacred institution in God's eyes. Sad to say, too many profession Christians today refuse to forgive unfaithfulness of a spouse, but if they themselves are unfaithful, they plead grace for themselves. Unfaithfulness is not the unpardonable sin but the liberal minded Christian has made it so unless it of course is their own unfaithfulness... than we hear about the power of God's grace to forgive them! Matthew 10:8 ... freely ye have received, freely give. |

Matthew 10:8 ... freely ye have received, freely give. Back to the original translation from the Greek... fornication is spoken of in the passage... not adultery. Liberal views say it is adultery so they can divorce their mate. Jesus did not give a reason except Hardness of the heart and un-forgiveness toward the mate. Joseph was about to use this "law" to put Mary away before being stopped by the Holy Spirit...He assumed that her virginity had been taken since she was pregnant. The fornication he assumed referred to Deut. 22:13-21 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, [14] And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: [15] Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: [16] And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; [17] And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. [18] And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; [19] And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days. [20] But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: [21] Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. No one was ever to marry a non virgin.. Leviticus 21:14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife. Deut. 22:28-29 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; [29] Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days. Only the cause of “fornication” was the excuse for divorce... but than Christ dismissed even that reason... no reason for un-forgiveness and hardness of heart... forgive as you yourself have received forgiveness or if he took her virginity, he was to marry her Why has Christians made unfaithfulness the unpardonable sin? |

24 | Is tithing just O.T. or N.T. as well? | Matt 23:23 | teragram123 | 55713
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Proverbs 3:9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: Ezekiel 20:40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. Ezekiel 48:14 And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the Lord. Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Luke 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Many debates over the tithe being for the New Testament Christian. One thing if very clear... the tithe is the Lord's. The tithe is Holy. What would keep one from not tithing other that fear of doing without, greed, unbelief? Faith is what pleases God. |

25 | If God gave us brains, why wouldn't he w | Mark 16:16 | teragram123 | 59595
In your comment... “because there is so much to doubt about every religion that I've heard about, and NO proof?” seems to be a large part of the confusion. Christianity is not a RELIGION but rather a relationship. 2 Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Denominations is probably what you are referring to by the term Religion. However, if you will simply read the New Testament for yourself... you will see the proof you are searching for, if you seek the truth with a pure heart. Do not read it to prove a point, but rather to find the savior. You admitted that you were an unbeliever - “I have heard the Gospel and I am as of yet a disbeliever” . What do you disbelieve? The word of God? That is you free will choice, but it leaves you in a very precarious position, since Jesus clearly tells us - Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. The question is not whether or not you believe a certain denomination, but that you believe the Word and repent and be saved. That is the first step. Until you are not saved... you will not need to look for a true gathering of God’s people. After you are saved, the Spirit will guide you to a place to fellowship with true believers. He see your heart... whether one of disbelief or one of hungering and thirsting. 2 Cor. 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: Most of the scriptures are hid to you till you receive the basic truth ...that Jesus is savior... and accept that. Than the spirit will open the gospel to you as you walk in the light you receive. God gave you a free will to receive or reject the truth. John 1:11-13 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 3:3-8 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? [5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. You ask for proof... History itself tells us that Jesus actually lived and died. Now you have to decide what you will do with this Jesus. |

26 | Mary is Sinless? | Luke 2:24 | teragram123 | 63867
Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is often misunderstood by non Catholics. It does not refer to the conception of Christ in the womb of Mary but rather the conception of Mary's mother with Mary... thus saying that she was immaculately conceived ... therefore spared from the original sin. There is absolutely no scripture to support this erroneous doctrine but it is taken from the Babylonian Mysteries Religion as well as many other of the Catholic doctrines. |

27 | Condemned Already: from birth? | John 3:18 | teragram123 | 63597
I agree with you... It seems the hardest part of evangelism today is to convince one that he is indeed a sinner in need of a saviour... if we could do that many would see and cry out. Isn't that the same problem Christ and the apostles faced in their day? 2 Thes. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Christ is trying to get back into his own church! |

Dear Stokeyhk, I have studied the watchtower... New World Translation... I find it interesting that in Joh 17.11 Jesus says that He has the Father's Name! Quoting from that translation... Also, I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I am coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name which you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are. |

30 | What makes Christianity different | John 14:6 | teragram123 | 54825
I knew God ... being raised Catholic... but I never knew Him in a way of a relationship... like a best friend. When I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and trusted Him in that by discontinuing to go to the confessional... a divine event took place in my life. The date of my new birth was March 23 1976. Christ became a personal friend, redeemer and Lord. His Word became my constant companion. I knew about Him before my conversion... but I know Him and know that He knows me now. I went from a religion to a relationship... most people have some sort of religion but that does not gain us our entrance into Heaven I could not truely know God the Father without knowing Christ His son for He is the only avenue to knowing the Father. John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 2 Cor. 10:18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. Now I know He knows me ... we speak daily! Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Knowing about God is not what it is about... but knowing Him and that can only be acchieved thru Christ alone... Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. We can not know God the Father if we do not know His son 1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. |

33 | Can one be saved by just repenting alone | Acts 16:1 | teragram123 | 60426
Acts 16:27-34 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. [28] But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. [29] Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, [30] And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. [32] And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. [33] And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. [34] And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. |

35 | Guilty of blood of others? | Acts 20:26 | teragram123 | 55079
To ReformerJoe It would seem evident the church is given a commission... not a suggestion or option.. Proverbs 3:27-28 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. [28] Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. [18] When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [19] Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. [20] Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Ezekiel 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: Ezekiel 33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; [4] Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. [5] He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. Ezekiel 33:6-7 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. [7] So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. The failure of the church in this regard has brought us the conditions of today. I do not believe that the church of Paul's day would have been taking time to answer questions like... "can I smoke Pot and be a Christian?" O how there needs to be time in the Lord’s presence for Him to give revelation to HIS will and not the desire of our own hearts. Philip. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. |

36 | confused | Rom 4:5 | teragram123 | 54805
Ages and Dispensations Age—Revolution of Time: 1.Age defined - means any period of time whether long or short; time; season. In this sense there are numberless ages 2.Past ages 3.Present age 4.Future ages 5.Creative ages 6.Five main ages in time: (1)The antechaotic age—from the original creation to chaos during which time Lucifer ruled the earth in perfection, before he fell and caused the earth to be flooded (This age took in all the period of the dateless past, the original creations, Lucifer's reign in perfection (Eze 28:15), the period of rebellion by Lucifer and pre-Adamites, the war between heaven and earth which culminated in Lucifer's defeat (Isa 14:12-14; and the chaotic period on earth after Lucifer's defeat (Gen 1:2; Jer 4:23-26; 2 Pe 3:5-7). These periods were of unknown length, and could be called the Eternal Past. (2) The antediluvian age—from the beginning of the six days of restoration of the heavens and earth to a second habitable state (Genesis 1:3-2:25) to the flood of Noah's time; or, from the flood of Lucifer (Genesis 1:2) to the flood of Noah (Gen 6:8-8:14). This age included the dispensations of Innocence and Conscience—1,656 years (Gen 5). (3) The present or postdiluvian age—from the flood of Noah (Gen 6:8-8:14) to the Millennium (Rev. 19:11-20:7). This age takes in four dispensations: Human Government, Promise, Law, and Grace—already over 4,545 years by A.D. 2000. (4)The age to come—from the second coming of Christ to the New Heavens and New Earth This age will last 1,000 years (5)The age of the ages—from the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:4-10) into all eternity when God will move His capital city from the planet Heaven to the planet Earth to reign forever This could be called the Eternal Future. Dispensation—A Moral Time: 1.Dispensation defined. The word itself is not in the Old Testament, but is used four times in the New Testament This does not mean that there were no dispensations in the Old Testament program any more than it means there was no devil in Old Testament times simply because the word "devil" is not used in the Old Testament. The Greek word means an administration, stewardship, dispensation, or guardianship. It refers to a moral or probationary period in angelic or human history during which God dealt with angels or human beings according to a particular test or responsibility, under which each was to remain true to his trust of administering affairs for God under His direction. 2. Nine Features of Each Dispensation: (1)Definition or name (2)Length of time (3)A favorable beginning (4)Test for responsible agents (5)The purpose of God in each one (6)The means of God in accomplishing His purpose (7)The failure of responsible agents (8)Judgment of God upon responsible agents (9)God's provision of reconciliation for fallen agents When these nine points regarding each age or dispensation are understood, then God's plan for man as a whole becomes clear. Each dispensation has its own particular beginning and ending; each is characterized by distinctive principles of God's dealings; each has a favorable beginning; each has a definite test; and each ends in failure and judgment, except the final and eternal one. Nothing but confusion can arise from reading certain meanings into Scripture that do not apply to a particular age. In each dispensation, God has a definite and different immediate purpose, all working toward the ultimate purpose of ridding the universe of all rebellion so that all free moral agents will be willingly and eternally subject to God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost, as originally planned, with God all in all forever Some part of one age may apply to another, but forcing the purposes of God to be the same in every age distorts Scripture and confuses the understanding. Study the history of each period carefully, and the prophecies given in each that predict a definite change in God's dealings or plan to the ultimate end. Harmonize all passages with the whole plan of God revealed in Scripture. Then one can see from God's perspective His purposes and plans for free moral agents who prove worthy of eternal trust 3. The Bible Divided Dispensationally: (1)The original creations (Gen 1:1) (2)The chaotic earth (Gen 1:2) (3)The restoration of earth (Gen 1:3-2:14) (4)The dispensation of innocence (Gen 2:15-3:21) (5)The dispensation of conscience (Gen 3:22-8:14) (6)The dispensation of human government (Gen 8:15-11:32) (7)The dispensation of promise (Gen 12:1-Exo 12:37) (8)The dispensation of law (Exo 12:38-Mat 2:23) (9)The dispensation of grace (Mat 3:1-Rev. 19:10) (10)The dispensation of divine government, or the millennium (Rev. 19:11-20:15) (11)The dispensation of faithful angels and the redeemed—the new heavens and new earth, the eternal perfect state (Rev. 21:1-22:5). 37 | If any man destroys the temple | 1 Cor 3:16 | teragram123 | 55547
have you consider this verse? Ezekiel 3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. God still hates sin... the way of cleansing is made simple by Christ Blood, confess and be cleansed - never the less God will still not tolerate sin in the Christians life. Galatians 6:7-9 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. [8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. [9] And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |

40 | meaning of the word GRACE | 2 Cor 5:17 | teragram123 | 62098
Strong's definition is the best I have heard... "Strong’s charis, khar'-ece; from Greek 5463 (chairo); graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude) :- acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy)" If we say we live by grace our life must reflect it outward toward others as well as manifest the work of the Spirit on the inside. Grace indwelling the heart will be seen and heard by all. It is far more than salvation and security for all eternity... but rather a manifestation of a new creature in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
