21 | Adam and Eve ashamed of their nakedness? | Gen 2:25 | heisthe1 | 42793
Praise God, good question, and here is some insight. Before the fall, Adam and Eve, Gen 2:25, were both naked, "and not ashamed". The idea of nakedness is far more than mere nudity, it has the sense of being totally open and exposed as a person before God and man. To be naked and "not ashamed" means that you have no sin. Nothing to be rightly ashamed of - you really can be an open book to another person. Genesis 3:7, satans temptation was all the more powerful because there was truth in it. It was true that "your eyes will be opened, and this was fulfilled in this verse, but their eyes were instantly opened to their own sin and rebellion. Thank God for being free. |

Hello, That would be an excellent question to the one who first posted this question. Let me ask you, is there a difference between "feeling happy or "being" happy? In your last post you stated "Can we be content when we are deeply distressed". So why didn't you just come out and say you were refering to Mark 14:33. Thank God that you haven't been distressed to the point of shedding sweat of blood :) as it is written in Luke 22:44 (or have you?). But anyway, what do you say? God Bless You !!! |

36 | why Jesus called Chief corner stone | Is 28:16 | heisthe1 | 33926
Basically, Gods people in the old testament weren't able to build on Gods law. There hearts were full of evil. Now in Isaiah 28:16 God calls Christ a foundation stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone and a sure foundation. In 1Cor.3:9, God not only calls us labourers, but Gods building. Jesus came to give us TRUTH and to build on a sound doctrine (foundation), but Jesus said that the stone that the builders rejected (Jesus) became the corner stone, Mat.21:42. After Christ was crusified and ascended, Eph 4:11,12 says "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelist, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare Gods's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be BUILT up, why? verse 13, until WE ALL reach unity in the faith and knowledge of the Son of God and become MATURE, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. In order to build on a foundation, in the O.T. a stone was placed at the extreme corner, and the foundation was built from there, it was called the corner stone. Finally, and I end with this; 1 Peter 2:7 says "Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. I thank God for the Chief corner stone. Heavenly Father, I thank you for this person who hungers and thirst after your righteousness, let their cup over flow. I pray that we continue to be BUILT up IN Christ, the Chielf Corner Stone. In Jesus Name, AMEN! |

37 | Thorn in the flesh | Is 57:1 | heisthe1 | 45688
Hello mbooker, Here are some scriptures to enlighten your post. PAUL'S THORN. "...There was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me..." (2Corinthians 12:7). This verse is frequently used by ministers to prove that sickness can be the will of God, and that Paul was sick. First of all, even if Paul was sick, it is no proof that it was the will of God. David committed murder and adultery - was that the will of God? Judas betrayed Jesus - was that a moral act? Just because someone in the Bible did something does not automatically make it right. Even Satan is in the Bible. You have to read the implied principles from the experiences of biblical character as well as the directly stated principles in the Bible. Nevertheless, Paul was really a solid proof of the supernatural healing power of God - even in his experience. Many Christians have been deceived in this area. Notice Paul says he had "a thorn in the flesh." The words "scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes" in Joshua 23:13 are also used the same way. Since when did it become a sickness? Paul was simply using an expression commonly used in those days. When you say, "Tom is a pain in the neck," you are talking about a person that bothers or annoys you, not a sickness. To further confirm that, Paul says the thorn was "a messenger of Satan." This tells us it was a person or demon, and that he was from Satan, not God. What Paul experienced was most likely persecution from people (inspired by Satan). Most of them followed Paul around to preach circumcision to the people right after Paul leaves a city. Some even reacted to Paul's preaching with physical violence. This is why the evil spirit or "messenger" was a "thorn in the flesh," or a "pain in the neck." You need to know the truth about the biblical passages that have been used to preach sickness. Many times those passages are some of the greatest proofs for healing. Some of them prove neither healing of sickness - just the need for wisdom. For example, if the Bible says that someone accidentally fell off a building and died, does that prove sickness, or that it is not God's will to heal and protect? No, it proves the need for wisdom and caution. By the way, this happened and Paul resurrected the dead man by the POWER of God (Acts 20:9-12). God bless you, stand firm on the Word of God. |

38 | Mt. 27 Dead men walking | Matthew | heisthe1 | 34631
You have a sixth sense! However I respond in part from an commentary that is too great to include here, it states; This matter is not related so fully as our curiosity would wish, for the scripture was not intended to gratify that. We may rise many enquiries concerning it, which we cannot resolve.. To whom they appeared (not to all it is certain, but to many), whether enemies or friends, in what manner they appeared, how often, what they said and did, and how they disappeared, are secret thing which belong not to us; we must not covet to be wise above what is written. The relating of this matter so briefly, is a plain intimination to us, that we must not look that way for a cofirmation of our faith, we have a more sure word of prophecy. see Luke 16:31 So now you know in part as to why there is not much written on this subject. Hey with all that excitement you have, why don't you go pray for some of those dead people walking around out there, some need reviving! God bless you!! P.S. Contact me if you like to have the web site, for its complete commentary. |

39 | Reasonable outcome for this verse? | Matt 5:37 | heisthe1 | 40902
Ray Here is a commentary that I recently read, it begins with verse 33 to 37. Jesus interprets the law concerning oaths a. The scribes and Pharisees had twisted the law YOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE LORD'S NAME IN VAIN to permit the taking of virtually every other name in a false oath. b. Jesus gets to the point: God is part of every oath anyway; if you swear by HEAVEN, EARTH, JERUSALEM, or even YOUR HEAD, you swear by God anyway - and your oath must be honored. c. But having to swear or make oaths betrays the weakness of your word; it demonstrates that there is not enough weight in your own character to confirm your words. i. How much better to let your YES BE YES and NO BE NO. Praying that this information gives light to what you are seeking. God Bless You as we celebrate OUR Lords Crucifixion and Resurrection. |

40 | Struggling with divorce question | Matt 19:9 | heisthe1 | 33016
Greeting to you in the name of OUR Lord. Sister Let me say that you are not the only one who has experienced this situation. First of all quit your "struggling" Jesus has already set, and is making you free. Romans 8:1 says "there is therefore NOW no condemnation to them who are IN Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, KJV. God hates divorce, but he loves you because of what Jesus did for you on the cross, for you and your husband. God sees you in the future, not in the past, amen? AMEN! Gal 3:13 says that Christ has redeemed us from THE CURSE OF THE LAW.... Now sombody is either playing with your head or that lying devil is twisting and turning upside down the word of God for you. I'm here to say it's that lying devil, if he can get you to doubt or question your relationship with God or your marriage, then he is doing his job! Agree? We need to protect our marriages, We as believers have been provided with everything that we need to live and operate as disciples of Jesus, Jesus intended that every time the devil saw a Christian, (especially married Christians) that Christian would be "armed and dangerous," and a direct threat to the devil. We should be speaking of our JOY not of doubt, amen? AMEN! The Father has already done all that He needs to do. Jesus has already done all that He needs to do. And the Holy Spirit is here now, doing all that He needs to do. So it comes down to us! What are YOU doing about it? What are YOU doing to stop it (struggle)? The GOOD NEWS is-that the devil is defeated and that Jesus has redeemed us all, out from under the curse of sin, sickness, poverty, ignorance, twistedness, wickedness and perversion-and into the wholeness, that brings salvation, deliverance, health and prosperity, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. What are YOU doing? How many of your ancestors' lives has the devil robbed, murdered and destroyed (marriages)? How much of your inheritance has been eaten away by sickness, disease, theft and destruction? But, you didn't know that YOU HAVE AUTHORITY OVER THE DEVIL! But I leave you with this question: "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW THAT YOU DO KNOW?" God has a great plan for you my sister, so you stay in there and fight the good fight, and Love your husband, and you both enjoy what God has purposed in your lives. Jesus Loves You, Your brother IN Christ. HeIsThe1 |
