21 | ABANDONED WIFE: Can remarry? | John 14:27 | compudex | 101602
Dear arapga, By your description she already knows the answer. If she is able she could file for divorce of adultery on behalf of her husband's conduct. She could then get some help with child support. But, again it would be most convenient for her to stay divorced. If she does not ponder on her estate and can look straight into the heavens and say, "not as I will but your will be done" then she will reap much reward. One of those rewards will be peace of mind. And the security that she has done the right thing. If not, both parties, her and the churchmate, will be in jeapordy of willful sin. The whole congregation of her church and his church should bombard heaven with pray for the willful husband. Call in your prayer request to as many pray lines you can think of and get this man to the light. The single churchmate should be the one to spearhead this quest, if he loves her as stated. The parties will be in double jeopardy because their union would be without faith and so they will compound their error even more. Praying for you! |

22 | LONG ABANDONED WIFE: Can she remarry? | Matt 19:9 | compudex | 101576
In your question you use the word "wife". Does this mean she is still married? In any event: (Mat 19:9) And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. |

25 | seven positions or classes of saints? | 2 Tim 3:16 | compudex | 101417
It is interesting to note that John was commanded to write down these things. Seven times write to the 'angel of the church' (singular). Then at the end of each letter we read - "he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (singular) saith unto the churches (plural). If you can bare it - I guess you could say that one could find themselves in each of these positions or states. NOTE: If any other person is reading this, Please put all that is said into context (read the previous threads). I am not writing any kind of presidence for a doctrine here. Personally and truthfully - I have re-read these letters again, and, during my lifetime, I could have been a member of each of these churches. Only by the Grace of the Cross are we here! Peace! |

Spiritually - the bride. For we today are the fruit of the laborers that have sewen in the fields all these many years since then. So reading and heeding the Words written to the Seven Churches has to do with us also. 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: |

27 | Spirit or spirit? | Prov 5:21 | compudex | 101393
Hi, Ray: How are you comparing these two scriptures? What are you getting out of them that shows their connection? John 9:29 is the Pharisees talking with the ex-blind man. Luke 13:27 is Jesus talking about those that claim to know Him. Although both instances have to do with hypocrites. |

29 | Did Jesus teach hate? | Luke 14:26 | compudex | 101202
One opinion: Jesus was eating and talking with the chief Pharisees and He knew there hearts and their deeds. The Scripture says they were watching Him. Jesus talked about how they lifted themselves up too much. Then one of them said (14:15) "Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God." Jesus responded to this platitude with the parable of a great supper. I think Jesus was relating to the Pharisees (because they knew the old testament) the account in Duet. 13:6-8* where it condemns putting other gods before the Lord. And when the bidden to the supper parable all had excuses not to come to the supper, in essence, is what they were doing. Putting there own interests before the Lord's. And with that, the word 'hate' is well used. And it doesn't conflict with the Commandments in that cense. *Deu 13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; |

30 | Balanced, centered, or lukewarm? | Eccl 7:18 | compudex | 101151
Aixen7z4: Because of your question - is there a feeling of condemnation that has crept into your thoughts? Are you feeling that you have not or are not doing all that you can? If so, this thought is not unique to Christians. Often we find that sometimes an idea comes into our heads that we are not right in God's eyes. A seed of doubt. An attempt to steal joy. In the Gospels Satan tried this very thing with Jesus. Sowing doubt in our minds. Hot, cold, lukewarm. Ecclesiastes has a recurring word in it, vanity. This tool is used with precision in the hands of Satan. Getting us involved into looking inside ourselves too much. A mother holds her child and you can see the love she has for it in her eyes. Does a mother love her child less when she is washing dishes and you don't see the love? No, the spirit of her love is still the same. It is just not being displayed. Did Paul love the Lord less when he was making tents? (Acts 18:3*) No, it was not displayed, in that he was not out preaching and teaching. Yet, it was displayed because he was supporting himself. And actually, the mother's love was displayed by washing the dishes and keeping up the house as an act of loving her child. Therefore, what we do throughout the day can show our love to the Father just by doing daily responsibilities. God is not going to come into your kitchen and wash the dishes for you. Paul worked and supported himself, did his daily chores just like us, and tended to his calling, teaching and preaching. He was called to a full time ministry but he did his daily responsibilities as well. Do not separate Romans chapter 7 and Romans chapter 8. The words "there is therefore" in Rom. 8:1 means "what I am going to say next has to do with what I just said". My supportive Scriptures, cause I am still man: Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. * Act 18:3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. God works in us everyday toward getting us to the mark. Every day can be an adventure. Nothing can remove you from the Hands that love you. Mark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. Grace to you! |

31 | Christian Opposition Polictian SINNED! | Rom 13:1 | compudex | 101135
Dear Pratical Bible Student: Could you clarify your question? Is it that you know someone that is in "the opposition party"? Does this mean that you are in the other opposition party? Then the term 'christian politican' is almost a contradiction in itself. But, assuming one christian was of one party and another christian was of the other party, the Scriptures come to mind that one of them is not like minded. "Of one mind": the right way! 2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 1Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: "Definition": Politician pol·i·ti·cian (p¼l”¹-t¹sh“…n) n. 1.a. One who is actively involved in politics, especially party politics. b. One who holds or seeks a political office. 2. One who seeks personal or partisan gain, often by scheming and maneuvering: “Mothers may still want their favorite sons to grow up to be President, but . . . they do not want them to become politicians in the process” (John F. Kennedy). 3. One who is skilled or experienced in the science or administration of government. Unfortunately the very word 'politician' has a bad connotation. Normally we think of a politician in the light of definition number 2 above. "Of one mind": the wrong way! Revelation 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. So, I guess you would have to judge the intent of their heart. I am glad I do not have to be the judge! Peace! |

33 | why do we baptize differently? | Eph 2:9 | compudex | 100997
The word trinity is a theological term meaning 'The union of three divine persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in one God'. If you are a believer and die before being baptized God has promised you eternal life. Otherwise there would be a 'work' involved in order to be saved. God said, "Not through works lest anyone should boast." Your salvation does not depend on any physical labor that you can do. Baptism in the New testament is 'sort of' like circumcision was in the Old Testament. It is an outward sign that an inner work had been done, a pact between you and God, being buried with Christ and rising into a new life committed to Him. Being baptized in Jesus' name and being baptized in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost are really the same thing. You are being baptized by someone who has the authority (in the name of) given to him by God. Jesus said whatever you do in 'my name' the Father will do it. That is, whatever you do that is in accordance to the will of the Father, will be done. Not, whatever is self exhaulting. Question: After Jesus rose to sit on the right hand of the Father, were the disciples rebaptized in His name? Are they saved? |

34 | Wating place before heaven? | 2 Corinthians | compudex | 100249
Jesus told the man on the cross he would be with Him that day. (Luke 23:43) Paul tells us that being absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. (2Cor 5:6-8) Paul also states that when Jesus returns he will bring those that have passed on with Him. (1Thes 4:13-17) |
