21 | Satan can't read minds | Jeremiah | Ric | 116
I don't know if Satan can read minds or not, but I know he will try to tempt you with all of his might. Just remember that God won't allow Satan to tempt you with something you can't handle. ................. 1CO 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it. 23 | Daniel: Son of man? | Dan 8:17 | Ric | 136
In Hebrew, "son of man" means an individual man. The Lord used this phrase in addressing Daniel, and over 80 times in addressing Ezekiel.
24 | Why "son of man"? | Dan 8:17 | Ric | 160
The phrase identifies Him with humanity (Heb 2:14-18) and with the heavenly Son of Man (Da 7:13-14).

26 | What does this verse mean? | Matt 6:7 | Ric | 125
Prayer is central to a believer's life. But Jesus said we should avoid meaningless, repetitive prayers offered under the misconception that mere length will make prayers efficacious. Jesus labels all those who pray repetitiously like this as pagan! Jesus is not forbidding all long prayers or all repetition, only meaningless prayer. Jesus himself prayed at length (Lk 6:12), and also repeated himself in prayer (Mt 26:44), but it was not meaningless prayer.
27 | How many brothers did Jesus have? | Matt 13:55 | Ric | 18651
James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas are called the Lord's brothers (Mt 13:55). Jesus also had some sisters (Mt 13:56).
28 | Why did Herodias want John the Baptist b | Matt 14:3 | Ric | 92
Because John the Baptist had denounced Herod's adulterous union with Herodias, his brother Philip's wife and his own niece. Law prohibited marriage to one's brother's wife while the brother was still alive. ......................... Luke 3:19 But when Herod the tetrarch was reproved by him on account of Herodias, his brother's wife, and on account of all the wicked things which Herod had done, 20 he added this also to them all, that he locked John up in prison. 29 | Rapture - Bodies or souls disappear? | Matt 24:27 | Ric | 637
Philippians 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (NIV) (Also read: 1 Corinthians 15:19-54) Yes, I believe that our bodies will dissappear from this Earth, but we will receive glorified bodies then too. |

30 | Mary is Sinless? | Luke 2:24 | Ric | 31835
I don't know? But Scripture states that Mary gave a "sin offering" according to Jewish law, if she was truly sinless she would not have had to give the sin offering. |

31 | Is the abyss hell? | Luke 8:31 | Ric | 135
My Bible dictionary states: ABYSS (Gr. abyssos). In the NT it refers to the world of the dead (Rom 10:7) or the nether world, the prison of disobedient spirits (Luke 8:31; Rev 9:1-2, 11; 11:7; 17:8; 20:1-3). In classical Greek it meant the primeval deep; in later Judaism it included the interior depths of the earth and the prison of evil spirits. |

32 | Is this the first time John saw Jesus? | John 1:29 | Ric | 162
There's no Biblical account of this being the first time that John and Jesus met, but they were cousins (both of their mothers were sisters) and I think thay might have grown up with each other. Remember that John leaped in his mother's womb (Luke 1:41) when Mary met Elizabeth (Mary's sister), so being filled with the Holy Spirit John knew that the baby in Mary's womb was the Christ.
33 | can you know people you never met before | John 3:16 | Ric | 810
I believe it because we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, you know - one big family! And if we are one big family, we should know our brothers and sisters. Sorry that I can't think of any Scripture to back this up, but that's just what I think. God Bless! In God's Grace, Ric |

35 | Did Jesus back up His claim in Jno 8:58? | John 8:58 | Ric | 5103
"Before Abraham was born, I am" could only mean a claim to deity. "Was born" implies the event of entering into a new state or condition of existence. "I am" (G1609, G1639) implies continuous existence, including existence when Abraham appeared. Jesus was, therefore, asserting that at the time of Abraham's birth, he existed. "I AM" was recognized by the Jews as a title of deity.
36 | reincarnation in the bible? | John 9:3 | Ric | 878
John 9:2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was in order that the works of God might be displayed in him. (NAS) Your answer is in the next verse. People who take Scripture out of context to try to support their dogma come a dozen to a dime. Please try to show the context of the passage to the people whom try to support their "beliefs" by using Scripture out of context. But it's sad to say that most of the time they won't listen to God's true Word. |

39 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | Rom 6:3 | Ric | 99
COL 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (NIV) .................... This passage shows baptism as symbolizing the believer's participation in the burial and resurrection of Christ.
40 | What's the Greek word for homosexual? | 1 Cor 6:9 | Ric | 2713
1CO 6:9 ë ouk oidate hoti adikoi theou basileian ou klëronomësousin? më planasthe: oute pornoi oute eidölolatrai oute moichoi oute malakoi oute arsenokoit Here is the Greek N.T. verse 1 Cor. 6:9. As you see the last word is "arsenokoit". So yes, Paul did use that word in his letter to Corinth. Here's the Nave's refferance: HOMOSEXUAL [H3879, G780, G3434]. Sexual activity between members of the same sex is universally condemned in Scripture. Male homosexuality forbidden by law and punished by death (Lev 18:22; 20:13). Male and female homosexuality condemned (Ro 1:26). With other sexually immoral persons excluded from the kingdom of God (1Co 6:9-11). Sorry, that is all I can find in my books so far for you, I hope it helps some. In God's Grace, Ric |
