21 | Ray's Homegoing | Ps 116:15 | Mommapbs | 171414
Update for Forum Members - I just received word that former SBF member "Ray" entered the presence of the Lord April 28, 2006. His wife wrote, "I was with him all day and night, and he was peaceful and calm. My prayers have so been answered with grace and mercy; and I know that Ray is in the fullness of joy-- with all of his Questions Answered by the One in Three." I'm sure his family will appreciate our prayers at this time. In Christ, mommapbs Please leave this up for a bit so others have a chance to read about Ray. |

22 | Will you pray? | Acts 2:42 | Mommapbs | 169329
Greetings Brothers and Sisters a SBF. Can we be obedient to the entire part of this verse? This is a request for prayer for Ray VanderHart, a former member. Although there was a period of controversy over some of Ray's posts, I respectfully ask that this forum put aside its differences and please pray for Ray. He is in declining health and under hospice care. I ask that you pray not only for Ray's comfort and peace but also for his dear wife Christine. Thank you. Anyone wishing to send snail mail to Ray my contact me through my personal profile. In Christ's love, mommapbs |

23 | How is one true and one not true? | John 5:31 | Mommapbs | 165639
Could someone please explain how this verse compares to Jesus statement in John 8:14 "Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going." How is one testimony true and the other "not true"?
24 | How do we receive Him? As Guest/Owner? | John 1:12 | Mommapbs | 163937
How do we receive Him, as Guest? as Owner of the house? Is there a difference? How does each response glorify Him? Explain. Is there a problem if we respond in just one way - either/or vs both/and? What results might we expect? Please support your answers with Scripture - thanks! (This is not homework, just something I'm processing right now!) |

25 | What does the word "these" reference? | 2 Pet 1:4 | Mommapbs | 163295
To what in verse 1:3 "seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." does the word "these" reference?
26 | What is the "word?" | Ps 119:16 | Mommapbs | 163235
Since the Bible as we know it was not written, what is the "word" that is David referencing?
27 | spirit or Holy Spirit? | Job 34:14 | Mommapbs | 162838
I am confused about the word "spirit" here. Whose spirit is this? Is this referring to the Holy Spirit?
28 | What are the things? | Heb 6:9 | Mommapbs | 159865
What "things" accompany salvation? (What are we to be convinced of here? What evidence might we expect to see of this?)
29 | The peace of Jerusalem? | Ps 122:6 | Mommapbs | 157290
Please comment of the implications of this command to "pray for the peace of Jersualem"? Is this different from praying for world peace? Are they related?
30 | Who does "your" refer to ? | Ps 122:9 | Mommapbs | 157289
Who does "your" refer to in this verse? "brothers and friends" of v. 8 and/or Jerusalem (the nation of Israel?) v. 6?

Re: "him who warned them on earth" Who does "him" refer to in this verse?
33 | Who are "your opponents/" | Phil 1:28 | Mommapbs | 155650
Who are "your opponents?" In the prior verse we are instructed to be "standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;" The word "striving" indicates that there is a struggle, an opponent; can you identify yours? (For those of you who think you can "go it alone" in your walk as a believer in Jesus Christ - take note of the plurality here and especially of the word "together"!) |

34 | Flesh of Jesus admit and separate? | Heb 10:20 | Mommapbs | 155576
Is the veil Christ's flesh or do the words "that is" refer to "a new and living way?" In reading the Amplified, might it be both? Does the flesh of Jesus admit and separate? |

35 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Mommapbs | 155507
Are those who shrink back to destruction referenced in v26? Can we say that those who have heard the Gospel and refuse to believe it (those who refuse to accept Christ as their propitiation for their sin) are those who "go on willfully sinning" ("those who shrink back to destruction")?
36 | Who is giving the tenth? | Gen 14:20 | Mommapbs | 154928
Who is giving the tenth of all here? (Please read from v 14 onward to the end of this chapter.) As I read this passage it is confusing. I'm wondering if Abram gave ALL he returned with to Melchizedeck and then HE (Melchizedeck) gave a tenth of all to Abram. Any Hebrew scholars out there to shed some light on how this is translated as Abram giving the tenth? (Let's keep Hebrews 7:4 out of this.) |

37 | Questions on the goodness of man | Rom 7:18 | Mommapbs | 154080
I'd like to revisit this verse. (imo)Paul is qualifying the residence of goodness in the believer here. But, is there anything "good" in unregenerate man? Since man is made in the image of God, does this make him "good"? Is unregenerate man's dead spirit "good"? Please provide scripture to support your answers. |

38 | The rest of God? | Heb 3:19 | Mommapbs | 154061
What is the "rest of God"? Please refer to the following chapter for some insight. Is there a difference between obedience and belief? Can one obey the law of God and still be called disobedient? (See previous verse)
39 | Two questions on this verse | Heb 3:13 | Mommapbs | 153995
Two questions on this verse: what is meant by "Today?" and secondly, how does the "deceitfulness of sin" harden the heart? (see previous verse)
40 | Church discipline? | 1 Tim 5:22 | Mommapbs | 152419
Although we may not "lay on hands too hastily" do we participate in the sins of others when we do not confront the sin? This passage is about elders and rebuking them - but does this excuse us from confronting sin in church? I'm wondering about church discipline here. |
