21 | With knowledge comes pain and responsibt | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89426
I once read, "You can buy books, but you can't buy brains." I would add, "you can pay for and earn a degree, but intelligence is free." Unfortunantly if it dosen't come with a price tag, most people overlook it today. Yet, if there is a price to pay, they don't want to pay the price. If I interpriate your comment correctly, I believe we both agree that it would be best to stear clear of the Seminary, or in the very least, to be prayerful and wisely discerning. It seems to me that the worlds history in my lifetime has already been recorded in the New testiment. Doesn't it you? I'm so thankfull that our Lord has blessed so many with the knowledge of what a Pharisee really is. That they would pass their knowledge on without fear of shame and rebuke; that they would feed the flock with the PURE bread and teach them to fish for themselves, is my prayer. George |

23 | Big mouthed Christian, or no? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89993
If I weren't to accept your apology, then I couldn't ask you to accept mine, which I do, for you have just described one of my biggest faults as well... And my feelings are as yours, for this is not the way I wish to be perceived Oddly enough, this past Wednesday, just prior to services, our preacher was telling how he wanted to rebuke someone evangelizing at another preachers church which he was visiting, but for the sake of the other preacher, he didn't. Our associate preacher hadn't heard what the preacher said before the service. In his sermon, the associate preacher delivered something to this affect; " Everyone worries about hurting someone’s feelings. If what they are doing is against Gods word, then it is a Christians (duty) to inform them of Gods word, whether it hurts their feelings or not." This is what (I, George) have read in the word. Some would say that one preacher had contradicted or rebuked the other. I see no contradiction. I do see something therein that could almost be referred to as rebuke in the associates message. However, I simply can't say. What are your feelings, thoughts and scriptural foundations for such, on this matter? I invite anyone who is "Spiritually Mature" to respond this question. Please, back up whatever you "State as fact," with scripture (NOT an interpretation thereof.) If it is opinion, forgive me, but I'm simply not interested. Yes, I am BLUNT. Sometimes too blunt. I normally get the attention of others though; with my "cave man" method. I like to think of it as the same method used by John the Baptist. Of course, he lost his head over it. Paul was hated by many. And he was not as blunt as I. They both lost their lives because of their mouths. Wouldn't you say that some have to be hit hard to get their attention? My posts seem to hit many very hard. I doubt that any will die due to my posts, but hopefully some will live due to what they may have learned therein. Medicine does not often taste good, but it is a necessary tool for healing, if and only if the person taking it takes it as it was intended, NOT, as in their opinion it was intended. As the Doctor prescribed! I'm not the Doctor. I'm not even the Nurse. I am only one who delivers the medicine. If the patient doesn’t like my method of delivery, does that mean that he should not take the medicine? I’d say, it’s his health! If he don’t like me, let him get someone else. There are those who do like me. God gave me this big mouth of mine. He also gave me scripture, and if He can't use my big mouth combined with His word, to His benefit, then He AIN't GOD! But HE IS! AND I pray that He will. I also pray that if it is His will, which I believe it is, He will teach me how to control it and when to (and not to) open it!!! And anyone who would agree with that on my part, should ponder for themselves as well. Lord, help us all! cuz here we go again... George |

24 | Just a thought. What's yours? | 1 Cor 11:18 | GeorJoy | 102462
Just a thought… What is the church? Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. It is; People in a community environment. It is; People worshiping. It is; People loving one another, sharing Christ. It is; People evangelizing. From his book “Spiritual Gifts,” I quote B. E. Underwood. The tendency to drift and to loose certain vital emphases makes it absolutely necessary that there be prophets to speak the Word of God to His church in every age. Who recognizes the prophets when they stare them in the face? I contend that, though perhaps not legally, yet biblically, The Bible Study forum can be classified as a church. Every church needs a Pastor Teacher, a Shepherd. I would like to think that herein we could consider our Lord and Savior as just that; our Shepherd, pastor and teacher of The Bible Study Forum Church over the Internet. Scripturally denominated, believers of the Word. One should pray that our Lord will give us patience to accept the diversity of people in our church, that together we would make up a group strong enough to serve God in any way… Just a thought. What's yours? George |

25 | Why so blind? | 1 Cor 13:12 | GeorJoy | 91441
I know the answer is in scripture, but I can't put my finger on it. My questions are as follows; 1) Why do people who (appear) to be sincere twist the true meaning of scripture? If possible, I would prefer scriptural quotes as an answer, ie "KJV Mar 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand," with limited paraphrases, devoid of OPINION. 2) Is the entire bible as a parable to some, or only portions that they choose not to accept? Or is it as is said in Ecc 3:1 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven," to include understanding as well? George |

28 | "a thorn in the side"? or Not? | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 100602
George appears "to stress God's wrath in his witnessing!" Forgive me, but I must ask, "Please elaborate." I have many areas of weakness. This is one some would call "a thorn in the side." One I have given much thought and prayer to. Is this truly the way I depict myself? Do I not "state His Word as it is written, and then try to explain it to those who either do not understand, or simply do not agree with what it says?" To Love is the greatest commandment. Yet, isn’t it important to know of the wrath that comes to the disobedient. All constructive comments are welcomed. Not perfect yet, but In Christ George |

29 | Just wondering about your wandering | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 101115
Jehonadab. I have noticed that you seem to pick and choose which questions others ask of you, you will answer. Then you follow up with a wordy scroll that would boar and confuse the most learned lawyor. What is your purpose? What is your logic? What is your belief, or disbelief? Do you have a purpose, logic, belief or disbilief, or do you simply love to fill your screen with senceless babble? Just wan-der-ing Not wondering; waaandering George |
