Kalos, I guess I should let Steve answer for himself, but from reading his previous post, I think what he means by "more correct" is in reference to chronological order, not inspiration. retxar |

164 | Why didn't God make people to love him? | Genesis | retxar | 64045
God did not make us love Him for the same reason we are glad our families love us, but it would mean nothing if we had to force them to do it. Many people have tried to force someone to love them, but relationships like that will never work, whether relationships with each other or our relationship to God. retxar |

166 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | retxar | 14218
It has come time to put this matter to rest. The WORD is clear, let's read it for together folks. Gen 4:17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son; Enoch. Gen 4:18 To Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begot Mehujael, and Mehujael begot Methushael, and Methushael begot Lamech. Gen 4:19 Then Lamech took for himself two wives: the name of one was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah. Gen 4:20 And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. Gen 4:21 His brother's name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and flute. Therefore, Cain married the flute and harp player's cousin's father's mother's husband's father's mother. Why have we never seen this before? God bless bro, retxar |

167 | The bible is a work of fiction - discuss | Gen 1:1 | retxar | 15482
Mat 5:4 says, God blesses those who mourn. What’s wrong with that? Mat 5:5 says, God blesses those who are gentle. What’s wrong with that? Mat 5:6 says, God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty for justice. What’s wrong with that? Mat 5:7 says, God blesses those who are merciful. What’s wrong with that? Mat 5:8 says, God blesses those whose hearts are pure. What’s wrong with that? Mat 5:9 says, God blesses those who work for peace. What’s wrong with that? Psa 14:1 says, The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." 1Co 1:18 says, For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1Co 3:19 says, For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness". Psa 141:10 says, Let the wicked fall into their own nets, While I escape safely. You can still escape safely. The world says, “seeing is believing.” God says, “believing is seeing!” In Christ Jesus, retxar |

168 | When was "In the Beginning" | Gen 1:1 | retxar | 17638
The world says "seeing is believing", God says "believing is seeing". Your friends "say" they need "proof" to believe and see God's glory in creation. That is not really true (Joh 12:37). If people needed "proof" for every thing they believed in, they would not even get out of bed! Jesus did not say that His glory would be revealed to the unbelieving in order for them to believe. Jesus said only those who believe, would see the glory of God (Joh 11:40). Jesus Lives! retxar |

169 | So what is God's vs. Adam's image? | Gen 5:3 | retxar | 16249
Please consider how these verses speak of all people being created in the image of God. Gen. 9:6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. 1Co 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God Col 3:10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him Jam 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Thanks, retxar |

170 | how can I eat flesh | Gen 9:4 | retxar | 25358
NT believers are not bound by OT dietary laws. 1Col 8:8 But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse. retxar |
||||||
171 | how can I eat flesh | Gen 9:4 | retxar | 25376
You are correct. The dietary laws the Gentiles were to keep were a safeguard to not offend their close Jewish brethren, not to protect the Gentiles from defilement. We as Christians should never exercise our "rights" if it will cause a brother to stumble. I guess I was a little off base before, as the Gen9:4 ref was before the law of Moses that I eluded to, but it was reiterated with the law (Lev17:10-14). This was a command to Noah in the new world after the flood. I think the idea here is don’t be cruel to the animal being eaten and, since life is in the blood, don’t treat it as a common thing. retxar |
||||||
172 | how can I eat flesh | Gen 9:4 | retxar | 25448
You are correct. This is in response to the Corinth’s liberty to eat meat sacrificed to idols, but the principle that food does not make us or break us applies to ALL food and ALL Christians. God’s approval of us has nothing to do with what we eat or don’t eat, which was what Tony was questioning. retxar |

174 | Any thought?? | Ex 10:20 | retxar | 60844
In Exo 5:2 we see that Pharaoh hardened his own heart prior to the time that God "hardened" his heart. It’s not like Pharoah did anything against his own will. This is much like what is explained in Rom 1 where it is said that God sometimes allows people to continue in their rebellion against Him. God allowed Pharaoh's rebellion against Him to work for His glory. Deu 7:8 says that God delivered the Israelites from Pharoah's bondage with a "mighty hand" instead of a gentle hand, as would have occurred if Pharaoh had shown favor to the Israelites. Other scripture says God chose the take them out with a mighty hand instead of a gentle hand so that His signs and wonders would be increased in Egypt, that Pharoah and his army would know that the God of Israel was the true and mighty God, and that God would be glorified. retxar |

175 | Where are muslims in the Bible? | Ex 20:3 | retxar | 21113
The Arabs ancestry is traced to Abraham thru Ishmael. Many Arabs are Muslims but that does not mean the Islamic religion has any biblical basis and it certainly did not originate with Ishmael. Religion and ancestry are two totally different things. The Islamic religion and it’s god Allah was the invention of Muhammad around 600 AD. It never existed before that. The only scripture reference that could possible be talking of the Islamic religion or Muhammad would be Mat 7:15, Mat 24:11, 2Pe 2:1, etc. One Way, that’s Jesus!! retxar |

177 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | retxar | 56943
Isa 53:2 describes Jesus's physical appearance as having no "form or comeliness". This means Jesus was not a man of extraordinary handsomeness. This does not mean that Jesus was ugly, but it does mean that He did not gain any advantage or favor with people because of His looks. From what you have indicated from your post, can I offer some advice of who we are obligated to answer and who we are not? We are never obligated to answer those who’s only intent to show us up or shut us down. Jesus didn’t! (Mat 21:23) We are only obligated to answer true seekers, as Jesus answered Thomas in Joh 20:25-28. Following Jesus’s example, never fall for the enemy’s trap of making you feel pressured to answer every question that people bring up. Abide in the WORD! retxar ABIDE in the WORD, THEN you will know the TRUTH, and THEN you will be FREE! (John 8:31-32) |

178 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | retxar | 56961
Please believe me that the only "enemy" I was referring to was the one that comes to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). However, those who are hostile to the Gospel are allowing satan to use them to be enemies of the cross, nonetheless (Phi 3:18). We are not obligated to give satan a stage to stand on, and an audience to listen to him, in order for him to spue out his lies. I had a little book one time called “Christianity, The Faith That Makes Sense". I gave it away to help someone who had some legitimate unanswered questions about Christianity. I don't remember where I got it or where another one may be available, but you might do an internet search and come up with something. It offered some real answer to some of the legitimate questions for those who were seeking to know more about Christianity. It might help you in your mission, but be sure that the answer you offer are given to true seekers. A good test would be to first ask, “If I can give offer you a reasonable answers to your questions, would you consider becoming a Christian?” If their answer is no, or their response is scorn or ridicule, move on to someone who’s heart is open to the Gospel. Otherwise, you might be violating Jesus’s words in Mat 7:6" "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” The ones referred to as “dogs and swine” here are those who have hardened their hearts to the point of rejecting the gospel with hostility and ridicule. Jesus never dealt with these people in a way as to try to answer their every question they brought up (made up!). Casting the “pearls” of the gospel to these might open up the Gospel up to scorn and ridicule. This does not mean to ever let up in sharing the Gospel, as you are doing, but realize that it is a glorious thing that God has committed to our trust (1Ti 1:11). Pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the gift of discernment to find hearts who are willing to accept. Continue being salt and light! Mat 5:13-16 retxar |

180 | "What did Jesus look like?" | Ex 20:4 | retxar | 56981
The book you mentioned is a good one! I posted a link to the little book I mentioned. I would have included it with this post if I had noticed your response here. Anyway, please don’t think at all that I am suggesting you are sinning by defending the WORD of God. As a matter of fact, you sound like your right on track! I just don't know you, and I thought maybe you were like me! Sometimes I get more concerned with defending the WORD than declaring it. I think the scripture references I gave speak for themselves and I have to keep them in my mind and heart whenever I attempt to answer any opposition to the Gospel. Truth will always be on our side, so "winning" any subjective debate should be easy. I just need to stay focused sometimes that the intent of the Gospel is to set people free, not for me to “win” a debate. Your discernment between those who only want to “spit on even the idea of God” and those who are “seeking the truth” is exactly the balance between love and discernment I was talking about. Remember that those you are talking to are blinded by satan (2Co 4:3-4). Remember that no intellectual debate or any facts revealed to them will ever change anything unless they also allow Jesus to also change their hearts. Never forget that you are fighting a spiritual battle and because of that, you must put on the whole armor of God (Eph 6:10-18). Keep up the good work! We do not wrestle against flesh and blood! retxar |
