161 | HCSB what's your opinion? | Bible general | justme | 241543
I really love the NASB version of the Bible. Recently I bought a Holman Christian Standard Bible, which I find it very interesting. Is there anything that is noteworthy about the HCSB to be worthwhile to know?

Very few Christians share their faith in Jesus Christ. What is one way you share you faith in Jesus Christ with others the Lord has directed you to. Do you ask The Lord to direct you to someone to share Jesus Christ during your day? Would you be willing to ask the Lord to bring someone into your life to share Jesus Christ with today? |

164 | difference in a Christians funeral? | Not Specified | justme | 241526
How should a Christians funeral be different to being Glory to the LORD GOD Almighty. I have see a number of funerals that the only difference from a non-Christian was the songs they sang. Have you given instructions the way you want to praise the LORD when you have gone to be with Jesus Christ?

166 | Has The GLORY of the LORD left the USA? | Not Specified | justme | 241525
Recently in Kay Arthur's Bible Study, she said she felt the Glory of the Lord has left the United States. After carefully thinking about this subject, I too think the LORDS protection, the US once had, may well be removed. What do you think? |

168 | Pastors have Evil thoughts? | Amos 1:1 | justme | 241524
havohej: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. No one living is exempt from having bad thoughts. Pastors are just as human, and sometimes I feel the old devil tempts pastors double time. Pray for your pastor, let your pastor know you are prayin for him. That's such an encouragement. justme |

169 | water to wine means drinking O.K.? | Gen 1:1 | justme | 241523
gbrainard: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Perhaps no other passage have people who do drink, bring as justification for drinking. As a pastor Many people would come and give verse as proof that drinking was acceptable in Jesus' opinion. But not so, the wine was reduced by 6 to 8 times, which is much different than today. I believe it's best for Christians to stay with soft drinks. That leaves no way to give a bad testimony. justme |

172 | The GENEVA BIBLE anything of interest? | Bible general | justme | 241381
EdB: Thank you. I have never actually read one, only different verses that someone has used in a quote. I have gone to a site and it allows me to read the books and chapters. I have read the history and those early settlers who came to America for genuine religious freedom, rejected the KJB. In my sorta research of my own, the first Bible printed in the USA was a GENEVA Bible. Christians were so hungry and even starved for a Bible many, many gave all they ouwed to have a copy of the Word of God. Today I sincerely doubt that most so called believers know where Acts is say nothing about Ruth, or 1 Kings. When I worked for Zondervan when Pat Zondervan was alive, I sold a Bible reading plan for families and schools, and other uses full people called THE BOOK OF LIFE. In the companies research they found very few Christians read the Bible even once a month. The Bible is the worlds best selling book, but the worlds least read. With a Bible for just about every occupation you can think of, and translations in almost uncountable languages, and numerous English versions, with many slanted to every group from homosexual, to liberal, conservative, and every denomination, yet people just are too lazy to read the Bible. There are just a few Bibles that are as close to the original thoughts of those inspired writers. Proudly the NASB is tops on my list. The one that most of my fellow believers that know me are rather surprised is the NKJV. I read it for contrast and a fresh read of what I read as a child and partly into adult years. I have come to dislike the NIV even the 1984 version. I have a ESV, but with the National Counsel of Churches approval I have deep feelings against the NCOC therefore I limit my reading of the ESV. My only desire is for people to read the BIBLE. But here again even the Muslims do not read the Qur'an or if they did then they would reject the instructions to kill infidels meaning Jews and Christians. Surely women would see how they are to be treated like slaves. So even with people calling them self a Christian does not make them a "FOLLOWER" as Jesus called genuine believers to be in order really saved and going to be a born again believer going to heaven to be forever with the Lord Jesus, and the Loving Almighty Father God. |

173 | The GENEVA BIBLE anything of interest? | Not Specified | justme | 241375
The GENEVA Bible was the Bible that the early Christian arrivals in America used. The GENEVA Bible was the first Bible printed in the United States. Why has this Bible fallen out of favor over the years? I think it would be wonderful if some Bible publisher refreshed the GENEVA Bible like Lockman did for the American Standard Version. Does anyone have any more information about the Geneva Bible that would be worth sharing? |

175 | buying something u know u will refund? | OT general | justme | 241203
Beja: Blessings dear brother: Just a word to say yes buying something, with the intention of using it and after you got what you needed for a product, is in my humble opinion a sin. I know of a large store that sells Coleman air bed matresses. People use to buy then and use them for vacation, and return them after they got home. Due to the huge abuse of dishonest people the policy now is NO RETURNS on air mattresses. Who wants a used air mattress? The huge financial loss in this one item was unbelievable. There are many more items like this that store owners deal with all year long. As Christians this is telling a lie, and a form of stealing. I am sure many of have never thought about this in depth. Blessings Beja. justme |

177 | ... | Matt 5:29 | justme | 241202
Movingon: I would like to gently give you my opinion, and I mean no snarky attitude. I have been with the Study Bible forum for a good number of years. I know there more than a few who have written books, and tracts. I can't recall anyone before recommending their own books and who it was that published it. That to me is unethical. Lockman who has blessed us to have this Study Bible Forum has made is quite clear we are to answer with Scripture. Now if someone else mentions an author that's something else. But to suggest a book you wrote is pretty much selling your book on Lockmans site. Perhaps you never looked at it this way, but I kindly suggest you reconsider recommending your books on this forum. Should anyone have a different opinion please free to express you thoughts if you feel otherwise. Justme |

178 | Suffering...how do you endure it? | Not Specified | justme | 241158
I am hoping this question-post will bring out some deeply honest answers. How do you endure suffering? What Bible verses, or hymns, or whatever do you fine brings the real closeness of the Lord to you. I am asking this not only for myself, but for those who just might want this sometime down the road of their lives. I pray a lot, especially during a medical procedure. I recall Romans 8:29 and believe my suffering is a way of more understanding in a very small way of what Christ must have experienced. I say to myself, I still have no idea what pain sin must have felt for my Lord Jesus Christ. If you have anything you would like to share please do so. Blessings... justme |

180 | Hardship and Struggle | Lam 3:1 | justme | 241156
Doc: About 25 years ago or so J I Packer wrote HOT TUB RELIGION. It was a excellent read then and perhaps it's a more fitting read for our time today. I would add that pain too is a excellent way to learn how to mature in love for Christ and our fellow brother's and sister's. God bless you Doc! justme |
