You are being hyper critical. Please read the request. It is not a statement. It is a framed question...should you take the time to study it. Also....'To my knowledge'...is not conclusive. Please save it until you are ready to be more definitive. |

144 | Cain's wife is from who? | Acts 17:26 | G. Preston | 223605
Grandpa, Perhaps I understand the thought process behind your point. However, we are reminded that The Bible Is the ...'inspired word of God'... and is presented for us as a ...'road map'...(if you will) for us to get from this fiscal life to eternal spiritual life. It is complete. Some parables which apply here; 1)....'some things are reserved for Gods' knowledge only....' 2) ...'it shall be revealed in due time'. Points for consideration. |

145 | Cain's wife is from who? | Acts 17:26 | G. Preston | 223603
Beja, I submit you may be applying that parable a little narrow. With logic,a wide interpretation of...'made from one man"....is that Adam was the base creation from which additional creation numbers were drawn. e.g Eve. The Bible reflects other examples. For instant ...Christ was baptised ...not because he had sinned...but, because He desired an example for us to follow. |

I am not aware of the Bible/Genesis,et al, saying that God only created Adam and Eve. Just that they were the first creation. The reference to them is an example of creation and may not reflect the totel content of the act of Creation of man. It makes sense that God created more in numbers. To dispatch this reasoning infers God allowed the conditions for incest...which the Anti-Christ folks love. Reactions/Opinions are invited. |

149 | Is the Jews are the elect people of God | Rom 10:12 | G. Preston | 196778
The Jew of today does not believe that Christ as depicted in the New Testament/New covenant was the Messiah. They did believe in G-d under the old testament/covenant/mosaic law, as they believe in G-d today. Thus the difference. |

151 | how do iknow if jesus is calling me | 1 Cor 7:9 | G. Preston | 196079
One should be guided by scripture; Matt 19:12 "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it." 1 Cor 7:9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1 Thess 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; |

153 | Is fingering before marriage a sin? | 1 Thess 4:3 | G. Preston | 196075
Scripture teaches us to avoid temptation. There are many references in the Bible of the effect upon us. Here are a few references which provide guidance in understanding and dealing with temptation; James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. Matt 26:41 "Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Luke 22:40 When He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." Luke 8:13 "Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 22:46 and said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation." The Bible teaches restraint. Knowing we will be tempted, study scriptures, pray and pray again. |

Suggest ID #s 1826 and 2970..they have good writings. Enter under ...search...upper right. Proper guidance is not available from Hagee on this one,IMHO. But, suggest we MUST NOT be confused between the Jew of the time of the old covenant and the Jew of today, under the new covenant with Jesus Christ. That is not distinguished in your question. |

156 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 195538
Doc, The reason I consider it an error when translated in connection with Holy Spirit...Pneuma is Ghost. But,for hundreds of times in other general scripture translations it appears as spirit. I could never undestand that phenomenon, quite frankly. Strongs Dictionary was used in my reference. Tyndale is hardly a guide on this topic for me, although he serves to fill space in the history books. For Christ, Preston |

157 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 195466
Brenda, The only "errors" I have seen in the Bible..KJV..are errors in translation. Those are not to be construed as errors in what G-d is presenting us as a road map for eternal salvation. As with any human touched process there will be errors. The 66 books of the Bible were written by 40 some authors... man... over several centuries, in different languages, then translated from those language(s)to english with errors in translation. There are several examples, such as; The Greek word PNUEMA,which means spirit, was improperly translated to Ghost. So we have Holy Ghost used in Scriptures. Properly, it is Holy Spirit. While it should be the goal of each person to know all scripture, we should not loose sight of plain and clear Bible teachings of the three things we must know and accept for eternal salvation; 1)Repentance 2)Baptism 3)Then we must live a righteous life according to G-ds' commandments. It is often said that those are presented in the Bible in a manner that a ten year old can understand. You may wish to do a general search using "Errors in the Bible"...and you will have no problem in having material to read on the subject. A WORD OF CAUTION....validate before you accept findings. |

158 | during the 3 days? | Matthew | G. Preston | 195406
With respect. You extracted my writings from proper context. I am presently familiar with Pet. 1:20, and am not surprised of its' reference by any good Bible student, in due time. I was not aware that the discussion had reached an "Interpretative" state. Wasn't the proponent in the process of discerning a proper conclusion? Was he not asking questions? Further, please note:..."one's own interpretation". Meaning two are more are obliged to review, analysis, discuss, debate in the process of concluding...with help from the Holy Spirit...per scripture;..."where two or more are gathered, there I will be also". During that process, where scripture is not sufficiently clear to a proponent, is he not permitted to engage as an interlocutor? If not, please give scripture reference. Also, if not, please explain the process by which proper interpretation becomes established? Bible students recognize some scriptures are not sufficiently clear for immediate conclusion...less this and 75 percent...estimate...of exchanges would not be necessary. Positions which contribute to stifling discussion or intermediate opinion in the process of finding proper conclusions of The Words' meaning is not G-d's way, I submit. Less much productive discussion of scripture would be lost. Isn't the concern... how an interpretation is accomplished?: without arguing, criticism of position and malice towards opponent and without other proper decorum? It is not my desire or intent to violate forum rules which I have familiarized myself. Please be specific and direct me to the words of such rules I am in violation of , as you have charged. |

159 | during the 3 days? | Matthew | G. Preston | 195387
BradK, Your patience is requested. Why did you react in such manner to, admittedly, a "speculative" answer? Aren't you convinced that G-d had the Bible written thru man, in its' fashion to foster and promote individual interpretation and intent? I am....and I believe He did it for a purpose. That is to urge us to study, analysis, discuss, debate and do it all over again. Thanks. I am new on the board and wish to gain insight. |

Jesusman, Amen, on the butchering of scripture. It seems prevelant today, consistant with end times teaching of..."tickling the ears"... I refer to it as "Spiritualizing the Bible". |
