142 | I'm looking for specifics, see below | Matt 11:23 | Chusarcik | 91868
Thankyou, I understand the concept of what Jesus is saying, but am looking for more specific information on what were the sins of the cities of Tyer and Sidon and where these two were located geographically? I read the two references you gave and they did not answer that question. Any more specific information to answer my two questions? Chusarcik
143 | Questions on Matthew chapter 11 | Not Specified | Chusarcik | 91713
Matthew chapter 11 speaks of Bethsadia, korazin and Capernaum, cities that reject Jesus. Jesus says of these cities that it will be worse for them on judgment day then it will be for the cities of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom. I am wondering if Bethsadia, Korazin and Capernaum were corresponding types of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom? Can anyone shed some light on that possibility and also, what were the specific sins of Tyre, Sidon and Sodom? Where were these three cities located geograpically? Chusarcik

EdB, I guess I'm just having trouble with the wording of the scripture? Your answers makes sense, but each time I go back and read 10:23 literally, it looks like Jesus was saying to the apostles they would face persecution, but that He, Jesus would return before the apostles reached all the cities in Israel. How do we get they wouldn't run out of cities from that statement? I appreciate all the work you're putting into your answers and am just trying to reach an understanding that matches what the verse says, Chusarcik |

148 | Good info but doesn't answer my question | Matt 10:23 | Chusarcik | 90766
Thanks for your quick response and the informaiton is appreciated, but that is not my question. I'm not looking for the time of Jesus' return at all. My question is whether or not we are to imply that Jesus meant ALL NATIONS in Matthew 10:23 when he referred to the phrase, "cities of Israel" not being all reached by the time He returned. Can anyone answer this question? Chusarcik
149 | How does Israel represent all nations? | Matt 10:23 | Chusarcik | 90761
I believe you're right and my question isn't about the time of Jesus' return, but more about why he specifically stated in 10:23 that the message wouldn't reach all the CITIES OF ISRAEL before Jesus' return if we are to imply that cities of Israel here really meant all nations. Can anyone clarify? Chusarcik
150 | Any other opinions on this? | Matt 10:23 | Chusarcik | 90755
I will do that and does anyone have further comments answering what Jesus means in Matthew 10:23 where He says He'll return again before the apostles will have gone through all of the cities of Israel if we are to imply Jesus really meant all nations when He said all cities of Israel? Chusarcik
151 | Just one more question on Matthew 10:23 | Not Specified | Chusarcik | 90738
In reading the previous answer for my question on Matthew 10:23, I understand that Jesus indicates to the apoostles that the message of the gospel will not finish reaching all nations before Jesus' 2nd coming, but in thinking about this I have another question: Why does this verse say the apostles won't finish spreading the gospel specifically to all the cities of Israel if rather than to all cities of the world if we are to take it that Jesus meant all nations here? In Matthew 10:23 my NIV Bible, Jesus says to his apostles that they will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes? This can't mean Jesus' 2nd coming will happen before they finished going through the towns because he still hasn't come? So what does Jesus mean here?
