Greetings and welcome to the forum. The returning of Christ to this Earth referred; to as the Second Advent, and commencing with the term, rapture has numerous verses found in Scripture. What ever position one might hold, and there are four that are basically held and they all cling to certain pet verses to substantiate their position without elaborating on the other verses that refer to the same function. It’s interesting to when people find out that the coming of the Lord isn’t a verb, which shows action, but a noun that comes to us from the Greek word PAROUSIA which represents an event. Just as the lord’s first advent took aprox. thirty three years to fulfill the second advent will take it total of years to complete. The Lord’s return will actually cover “two events” that both take place in the same day, just as it did in Noah’s time and Lot’s time, first the deliverance to a place of safety for the believers then God’s wrath is poured out on those left behind, the rapture signals the beginning of God’s wrath. So to accurately put a time on it, it would be safe to say that the rapture will occur just before the wrath of God commences and a close look at II thes. points this out. 2 Thes. 1:3-10 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (Here is the timing found in verse 10) 10when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. Chapter 2: 1-5 back this up and further points out that this is the time of the rapture. 2 Thes. 2:1-5 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? The rest of the book explains what we are in for before this things take place and it isn’t going to be a bed of roses! I hope this helps, even though it isn’t good tidings to know what’s in store for the believers when these times come about but I’m sure the Lord can see us through it all for His praise Glory. That’s why it will be a glorious appearing. Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, CDBJ |

Faith in Jesus Christ for salvation is based on what He did for us not what we do for Him. John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Let the Lord clean up your life as He sees fit, all you are asked to do is have faith an trust in what He did for you not what we do for Him: the Father isn’t impressed with what we do for Him, He is only impressed with what Jesus did for you on the cross!!!!!!! Read the book of John through about three times and as you read ask the Lord to show you the truth. CDBJ |

Water baptism is the first ritual that one can fulfill as a new believer in Christ. Water baptisms are wet rituals, while real baptisms are dry. The baptism of the Spirit seals the new believer. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, At the moment of salvation God in His grace does 40 things for us, 39 of them are irrevocable while one is revocable; that one is the filling of the Spirit. God says that He will never leave us or forsake us but the moment we sin He is quenched and draws back because we from that point on are functioning under the control of our old sin nature or as Scripture puts it, controlled by the flesh. We are commanded to be filled. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; This is in the imperative mood in the Koine Greek so it’s something we can do and it is accomplished by the exercise of 1 John 1:9. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. By naming our sins to God the Father we are put back in fellowship and under the control of the Holy Spirit again up until the next time that we get out of line by sinning! CDBJ |

Greetings, It sounds to me like you are on the right track. Don’t let you emotions get in the way of believing in God’s promises; that is the quickest way to be defeated in one’s spiritual walk! Read all of Heb. Chapter 11, then notice what it says in verse 39, then understand that God is the one who reveals truth to us through His Spirit. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. I don’t know how long you have been a believer in Christ but for me it’s been over 46 years and I am still learning how to trust the Lord through the application of the faith rest technique. If you don’t understand certain things ask for wisdom and apply the following. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: The more time spent in studying God’s word the better off you will be! 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. That’s solid information alright but it isn’t exactly what that verse has in mind. Just like the natural man is born into this world with the equipment to function in this world, like wise the one who is going to function in the life to come, i.e. life with God or everlasting life needs to be born of the spirit so that he has the equipment necessary to understand spiritual phenomenon. That’s why Jesus said the following: John 3:1-6 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Before we can go any further, have you come to the place yet where you know for sure that you have been born of the spirit? CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. The verses that emphasize your point in question is found in Hosea. Keeping to the text of this verse in context one must put the verse in it’s proper perspective. Hosea 4:1-10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. 2By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. 3Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 4Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. 5Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. 7As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. 8They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. 9And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. 10For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD. In order for one to understand God’s word there are certain things that must take place first using I Corinthians as a good example. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Are you familiar with what it means by the natural man? CDBJ |

Greetings Biblicalman, You could intensify the effectiveness of your posts if you would include the actual verse and not just the address. Very few people actually take the time to look up the verses from the address location; Example: Faith doesn’t come from the address but the Word it’s self which I’m sure you are aware of. Romans 10:17 (New American Standard Bible (1995 Update)) 10:17 (NASB) So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Have a great day, CDBJ |

152 | God sees us through the blood of Jesus | NT general | CDBJ | 229394
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I’m afraid your question can’t be answered with Scripture in those exact words. The following is referred to as positional truth; notice the word “IN”. It is as though God sees Christ and we are secure in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (New King James Version) 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. It’s because of the finished work of Christ that we are able to come to the Father but only when we put our “entire faith” and hope for eternal life in the person of Jesus Christ. When this is done we are accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6 (New King James Version) 1:6 (NKJV) to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 2:8-9 (New King James Version) 2:8 (NKJV) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. If the object of our faith is anything other then Jesus Christ all of our faith and or religious activity is in vain and the result will be “eternal separation” from God. Romans 6:23 (New King James Version) 6:23 (NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. It isn’t until we place our entire faith in Christ that God grant to us the privilege of knowing for sure that we have eternal life. Those that don’t have this assurance aren’t fully trusting in Jesus and therefore they don’t have the Holy Spirit as a proof or witness. 1 John 5:10-13 (New King James Version) 5:10 (NKJV) He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

153 | Atonement | NT general | CDBJ | 229245
The fact of the matter is we are all dead spiritually in God’s eyes because of dear old Adam. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Christ came into the world to be our substitute and take the punishment; the punishment that we will receive if we don’t trust in His finished work on the cross. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The last verse is only effective if one places all of their hope for eternal life is the person of Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. A person doesn’t have to die to find out if the will have eternal life, God’s Word tells us now and it’s a sure thing! John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. That pretty much sums it up; if one fully trusts in Jesus they have eternal life right here and now; the moment one trust in Christ He indwells them from that point on. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Have you come to that place yet in your life or is that something you are working on? CDBJ |

156 | why are there rewards in heaven | 1 Corinthians | CDBJ | 229068
Greetings Sethknorr and welcome to the forum. The works spoken of for salvation are quite different from the works accomplished by one who is already a believer in Jesus. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. This verse is talking about salvation. The following verse is a reference to that which the believer accomplishes while in the body but the work falls into two different classes, one will count and the other will be burnt up. 1 Cor. 3:12-15 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. The day is the judgment seat of Christ, for believers only, which is for rewards. The gold, silver and precious stones are only produced when the believer is under the control of and filled with the Spirit at the time the work was accomplished. If one performs good deeds and it is done through the energy of the flesh,i.e. under the controll of his old sin nature, it will be counted as wood, hay and stubble and it will burn up. The big question is how one is supposed to be filled with the Spirit. The believer in Christ is filled with the Spirit from the very moment they believe in Christ for salvation, only they can loose this filling when they grieve or quench the Spirit. Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1 Thes. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit so it is something we have to do. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; What grieves or quenches the Spirit is “unconfessed sin” in the believers life! In order to get back in fellowship and be filled with the Spirit one MUST exercise the following. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This fills one with the Spirit only until the next time that they commit a sin! The big mistake that believers make is that they ask God to forgive them and that doesn’t work! He has already said He would forgive if we will just “name our sins to Him”, that’s what the word confess or HOMOLOGEO in the Greek means, i.e. admit to it as in a court room case. Keep short accounts and there won't be a problem. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Greetings, Could you please show me the verses in the Bible where angles help us with our prayers to God the Father? I know the Holy Spirit helps us but I didn’t know about the angels performed this duty. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. I was always under the impression that it was the Holy Spirit that saved us. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Have a great day, CDBJ |

I certainly hope that you’ve held firm on your conviction and conveniently removed the first eight verses from the book of Hebrews in whatever Bible translation you ascribe to? Since you insist that 1John 3:1-5 is the Father you better work on removing Isaiah 53:10, 11 as well. Isaiah 53:10-11 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. These of course are only starters, but going on the truth of 1 Cor.2:14 we might as well leave it at that! 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
