141 | Why the children? | Num 33:55 | azurelaw | 224838
Read Matt 19:14 in context to see what is Jesus' teaching to His disciple. Consider the cultural background in the passage : women, children - their status in the Jewish society. Contrasting the helpless and low class (children and women) with the rich young man relying on his own righteousness and richness. So, the message is not about children have a place secured in heaven for their innocence, but rebuking those deeming themselves high status (or of higher value and rich) and self-righteous but not depending on God. My 2 cents :-) Shalom Azure |

142 | Why the children? | Num 33:55 | azurelaw | 224836
Dear Inquisitor, You say: Thus they're (children) assured a place in Heaven. However, scripture teaches that we are sinful even in our mother's womb. So how could children be innocent? Ps 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I too am sinful]. [John 3:6; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3.] Shalom Azure |

143 | went to Seir or not | Gen 33:17 | azurelaw | 224787
Thanks Searcher, for your input. Yes, for sure God is in control of everything. I, such a fallen human and fallen mind, just could not help to express the "hindsight". Anyway, my point is: Did Jacob go to Seir? I think he did not. But some commentator said he could have gone there but stayed for a short while. Shalom Azure |

147 | The true Gospel Jesus proclaimed | Matt 4:23 | azurelaw | 224547
Dear 00123 Had Jesus not reminded us about the tares already (Mat 13:24-30)? The point is not whether people agree with you (as per your post 224502) or not, but as believers, what should we do at our church among our fellow members/brethrens. We do not know one's heart, not even our own which is deceitful, too. (Jer 17:9) Please leave the judgment to our Lord. Our responsibility is to discern, admonish, PRAY and LOVE. (1 Cor 13) instead of holding a "holier than thou" attitude. Shalom Azure |

150 | Greetings to all on this Lord's Holy Day | Is 58:13 | azurelaw | 224423
Dear findrichard, You may call me Azure :-) We all are sinners saved by the wonderful grace of God. When I was new to the forum, I always reminded myself about the limitation of such communication platform - text. We cannot hear each other's voice nor can we see each other's faces. This kind of media could appear to be cold especially when we want to express our thought precisely. So, I try not to read too much emotion or feelings into the posts in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding. As an old timer (well not that old actually :-D) on the forum and my interaction with Beja, Brad, Searcher and Lionheart, and some others, I can assure you that they are brothers in Christ always speak the truth in LOVE. Don't think that you are condemned (I deeply believe this is not any of their intention) nor feel offended when being asked for correction or clarification. When we post, we have to also consider how other silent readers of the forum interpret what we have written. And we are to be careful with what we teach (James 3:1) Therefore, concerning the subject discussed, I think Beja has explained in his post 224421 about his concern clearly. I really hope that you would take his remarks into consideration. May God bless you and keep you. Shalom Azure |

Dear findrichard, Your post struck me when you complain users' cursing you which is beyond the fact. As I've read those posts associated with the thread, what I see is sincere (and so as your greetings, I believe) admonition addressed to you to comply with the guideline of the forum. I don't understand how you would discern such advice as "curse". Since you are new to the forum, those old timers are trying to guide you to pay attention to the TOU in order that your posting legitimation can be sustained. Thank you. Prov 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend,... Shalom Azure |

152 | did Christ reveal to the disciples | NT general | azurelaw | 224177
Dear Pew, "...the kind of body that Saul saw on the road to Damascus..." Did Paul really see Jesus' body? (Acts 9:3-8, 22:6-7) or was he blinded by the glorious shining light from the resurrected Jesus? Shalom Azure |

154 | Crowns we cast at Jesus feet real or not | Rev 4:10 | azurelaw | 224146
Dear Pastor Beja, I agree with you completely. I also think believers more or less have got some of the "crowns" in this life. (Psalm 103:4, Gal 5:22-23 and Jesus' teaching of the beatitudes) Shalom Azure |

Dear Ariel, Well, what I have suggested to you, I - myself didn't do it thus experience the same mistake a couple of hours ago :-( That makes me recall something in the Mere Christianity by C.S.Lewis that : men seldom need to be taught, but to be reminded of [I don't remember the exact wordings]. By the way, it would be nice for forum users to know each other better if you could fill in your user profile as I see that you have been registered for about 6 months. I sure hope you enjoy the forum and we may learn and grow together in His Holy Word. Shalom Azure |

Dear Jessica, Welcome to the forum. This is just a warm reminder as per below TOU for your reference: * Postings must be Biblically based and not opposing the Bible's sole authority (sola Scriptura), Christianity, or the deity of Jesus Christ. Therefore, it would be strongly advised that you include books/chapters/verses in your posts aptly cited. Thank you. Shalom Azure |
