141 | Disease or Bad Personal Choice?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86921
Granted, I DO need prayer, so maybe we should both pray for spiritual wisdom. I'm not condemning Love, I just get slightly irritated when it appears that we accept the part of the bible that fits us, and trash everything else we don't like. The bible's perspective on the sin-Homosexuality- is clear. It's an abomination unto the Lord. The bible's perspective on the sinner-Homosexuals-is also clear. Love the person, hate the sin. "Love rejocies not in inquity, but the truth.." My question still stands, "Whoes truth, God's or Man's??" If it's God's truth, He has an awful lot to say on the issue, and none of it looks to promising for the sin itself. If it's Man's truth, then all we're going to do is justify the wrong that we do so it won't be wrong, INSPITE of what God's truth says. Would you mind if we discussed what some of those verses mean?? |

That's a real interesting perspective. Let me ask you this; Is the bible a book that Christians should follow, or is it a book of fairy tales written long ago for a distant group of people?? I ask this because the bible tends to indicate that Love rejoices not in iquity, but in truth. So who's truth does Love rejoice in, Man's or God's??
145 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | TheCurtMan | 86892
Ed, thanks for your response. I can't help but to think that there is more than one reason for a course of action. I think that Christians are attacked spiritually not so much to get us to loose our salvation, but to ruine our testimony before God and man. If an unbeliever see you stumble in a particular area, one of the first things they say is; "and he's suppose to be a christian." Your testimony for God at that point is no more good in the eyes of that person. What makes it worse is that YOU might be the only bible they read. You and your actions. The adversary has been called many things, biblically, including the 'accuser of the bretheren'. He can accuse us all he wants, but The Judge is the same one that says that no one, at no time can pluck us out of His hand. And just for the record, I'm not out for a debate on this issue. I know it's been hashed time, and time again. I'm honestly curious about my brothers and sisters perspective on the matter. For me, this is ONE of the many ways I learn and understand things. Mommapbs, Greetings!! I would appreciate your assistance in a matter if you don't mind. Your's and anyone else who might have a point of view. I'm under the impression that the only time the bible contradicts itself, is when someone do not have the full understanding on two or more verses, and right now I think I might be that someone. ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED-I encountered this post and answered in the positive, using Romans 8:1 and 8:35-39. You answered in the negative using Heb. 6:4. I'm wondering if you would be interested in a discussion of these verses?? I could do this myself, but I've really come to appreciate your perspective on scripture, yours; Hanks; Radioman2; and a number of others. So whatta you say, help a brother out?? |

Hank, Thanks, that's exactly how I feel about it!! But let me ask you this, do you think that we as Christians are doing all that we can in this matter?? I mean the last time that I looked, God was still in the Prayer Answering Business. Do you think that if we were praying like we should that things would have gotten this far?? |

148 | Pt.1 Female Overseer | 1 Tim 2:12 | TheCurtMan | 86341
First of all I think it is unbiblical to take a 'conditional biblical principle and aply it across the board. One can not say that a woman can never have authority over a man, because like I said, our Father never elaborated on this in the areana of the work field, therefore one can not say it aplies. He was specific in the areana of the household, and Sunday Morning Service. Also, there is a difference between being a Pastor, and being a Teacher, and scripture tells women that they should teach. It implies that they should not teach a man is all. Have you notice that young women today don't know how to be a young woman?? Why is that?? Because they haven't been taught properly that's why. Man isn't the only one in the world that needs to be taught. Teaching for the Woman of God is a commandment. So why get upset over what we can't do and focus on what truely needs to be done. Christians all over this world is falling short of our Heavenly Father's Expectations because our focus is not where it should be, and I'm no exception |

149 | handling relationships as a Christian | Matthew | TheCurtMan | 86234
Hey Gab, There is this story in the bible about a women that lost her son to injustice. She went to the King because she wanted justice. She wanted him deal with the matter. The King kinda paid her no mind at first, so she kept going back, again; and again; and again. Finally the King gave this women what she wanted just so she would leave him alone in the matter. You ever tried that with God?? Keep your partner lifted up in prayer. CONSISTENTLY. The Lord wills that none should perish, so keep praying for her salvation, or her return to the Lord, and you might be surprise at the results, God has the tendicy of going over and above our expectations on occasions. |

I know this story about this guy that fell down three flights of steps. He broke up the entire left side of his body, arms; legs; finger; toes; the whole nine yards. When the was reading off the list of broken bones the guy kept praising God, finally the doctor asked him why he was praising God when he did so much damage to the left side of his body. The guy replied, "I could have done the same amount of damage to the right side of my body as well, thin I'd really be up the creek."

Actually I think that if there are issues with the Word of God, then it should be taken up the The Author, don't you think?? Or at least His Holy Spirit. The bible doesn't mention a womans' authority over a man in the work force, just in the household and in the House of the Lord?? Maybe you should ask The Author why He didn't elaborate a little about the workforce. And please get back with me when you get your answer, because I really do need to know. |

Greetings!! I have spent much time studying about the Witnesses, The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, and discussing scripture with the Witnesses. Their beliefs are so far out in left field that you can not find them by radar!! They do not believe in the Trinty. They acknowledge that Jesus is a god, not the God of the Bible, but a god. If Father God is a God, and Jesus is a god, then that leaves alot of room for polytheism. They give more credit to the adversary being a person then the Holy Spirit. Plus they're exceptionally good at twisting scripture. Unless you are a very mature Christian on a completly unshakable foundation, I'd personally suggest that you stay clear of them. If you'd like to discuss their beliefs and compare it to what scripture actually says, I'm willing. I still have all my notes and other information including the New Worlds Translation Bible-an example of how a bible should not be translated; Reasion from the Scriptures, and much more. However; if you're already engaged in study time with them, I strongly suggest that you go out and purchase two books. The First book should be a Parrallel Bible which includes the NASB; the NIV; the King James or the New King James. The Parrallel bible lined up with the New Worlds Translation will really aid you in seeing the difference in perspective between the truth and the joke. Secondly I suggest 'Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah Witnesses', it's by a guy name Ron Rhodes. You will be in my prayers The CurtMan |

157 | can a women preach and teach men | 1 Tim 2:12 | TheCurtMan | 85819
A person has the ability to choose what he or she believes. There is an ULTIMATE sense of right and wrong. How do we determine what this ULTIMATE since of right and wrong is?? Through the Word of God. The Word of God tends to give a difference between Pastoring and Teaching. The bible does not prohibit a woman from teaching in arenas other than the Pulpit, and difinitly progibits a woman from Pastoring. If you choose to believe a principle contary to Biblical Principles, that is your choice. However; I have read some of the comments to your question and for the most part they all seem to have a common thread, which is, answers based on Biblical Principles. And as far as a Husband and Wife Pastoring Team is concerned, although that woman do have her covering, she is STILL in violation of scripture, and the husband is in violation for allowing it. But just out of curiosity, the word Bishop in 1 Tim. 3 can be translated as Elder; Sheppard; Overseer or Pastor, these are men roles. According to Eph. 4:11, Pastoring is a Spiritual Gift. If the will of the Father is for a Pastor to be a male role, they why would the Holy Spirit give this gift to a women?? |

158 | To think clearly and Biblically | Ps 119:105 | TheCurtMan | 85816
Radioman, I've come to accept the fact that no one can really force anyone to think clearly nor biblically. All you can do is share the Biblical Truth in love and pray for the best. No one really wants to be told that their beliefs are incorrect, but if that's the message that the Father wants them receive, then it's our Christian Responcibility to enlighten them on sound doctrine. I've read a number of your replies to certian questions, and thus far they all seem to be Biblical Truths based on Biblical Principles. If what you are doing, you're doing out of Love and Obedience to the Father, then what's with the apology?? To my knowledge Paul did not apologize to the Jews for sharing the truth with them, nor Jesus to the Pharisees, and He knew what the price would be, but that did not prohibit Him, nor did He offer any apologies, why?? If it's remotely possible, I'm interested in a one on one with you in reference to spiritual matters. Your perspective on matters is one that I appreciate. The CurtMan |

159 | can a women preach and teach men | 1 Tim 2:12 | TheCurtMan | 85750
The CurtMan again, There is one other point that I'd like to mention. I've taken this discussion up with women pastors and I find that the overall majority of the time they tell me that what Paul wrote was for that particular time. To me that makes no sense. That tells me that my God is incapable of writing His word in a fashion that crosses the boarders of Culture and Time, plus there is a verse in the bible that indicates that our God is the same today as He was yesterday, and He'll be that way tomorrow and forever. I'll try to get the address on this one for you later. |
