141 | Questions for reflection and comment | Matt 26:45 | Mommapbs | 110706
Why does Jesus draw attention to "sleeping and resting?" I'm wondering if this verse can be linked with His request in verse 41 where He tells them to keep watching and praying. How does watching compare to sleeping and praying compare to resting? What might we glean from this in our own relationship with the Lord? Indeed, the Lord is at hand today - His return is nearer than it was yesterday. Are we watching or asleep? Are we resting or "devoted to prayer (Acts 2:42)? Is the Lord perhaps giving US a "wake-up call?" (How might we "hear this" in the church?) |

142 | You have said it yourself? | Matt 26:25 | Mommapbs | 110526
What did Jesus mean by, "You have said it yourself?" Judas is "hiding" the intent of his heart. Did he know Who he was hiding from? Who did he fool? Do we do the same when we are confronted with Truth? Does this relate to Romans 10:8 "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"-? |

143 | Keep the Passover vs Eat | Matt 26:18 | Mommapbs | 110474
What is the difference between Jesus' desire to "keep the Passover" and the offer of the disciples in verse 17 to prepare for Him "to eat the Passover?" (Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?")
144 | Better safe than sorry? | Heb 6:4 | Mommapbs | 110365
Hi Rowdy! Once again, please clarify what you mean by "better safe than sorry"! How do you apply this to the study of God's Word? Blessings, mommapbs |

146 | What are we "set free" from? | John 8:32 | Mommapbs | 109762
What are we "set free" from? See Romans 8:2 - What is the law of sin and death? How do, or how might you appropriate this "truth" in you own life? I believe that this is an important benefit of our faith in Christ. Please support your responses with Scripture! |

147 | The Teacher and His teachings? | John 14:23 | Mommapbs | 109664
This is a two-part question. Please support your answers, give examples if possible. Is it possible to follow Jesus and not follow His teachings? Is it possible to follow His teachings and not follow Jesus? |

148 | Why more fish? | John 21:10 | Mommapbs | 109226
Since Jesus already had fish on the fire (verse 9), why did He ask the disciples to bring more? It doesn't make sense to me that He would not have enough for everyone to eat, so there must be some other reason. Any thoughts or comments on this? |

149 | Questions on user profile? | John 20:19 | Mommapbs | 109159
Greetings KenLey! You have given some interesting information, however, you did not back any of this up with scripture. I have some questions that are prompted from reading your personal profile: Who is Jesus? Where do we find in Scripture that "the Holy Presence, the Shekhina" is feminine? That God is Father and mother? That our "Mothers dwell in Paradise"? Who is Batia? This is a Bible Study Forum. I can't seem to find any reference to this in God's Word. "You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder." James 2:19 Mommapbs |

150 | Is Jesus God? Who is telling the Truth? | OT general | Mommapbs | 107247
Tara1, you wrote: "Jesus is not Jehovah, never was never will be. He is Jehovah's Son, Second in all the universe. Praise and glory to whom Jesus said to give it, the Father, our Almighty God, God of Jesus, Jehovah. Sorry to disappoint you but truth is truth." Is Jesus God? The Bible says He is (John 1:1) and He Himself claimed to be. John 8:58. Who is telling the Truth? When did Jesus become "second in all the universe?" PS: On the Eve of Emmanuel's entrance into time, your words are a poorly crafted attempt to rob us of the joy we have in celebrating the anniversary of His first coming in flesh to dwell with us. |

151 | Is Jesus YHWH? | OT general | Mommapbs | 107138
Greetings Tara1: You wrote, "Yes, Jehovah is my banner or refuge, too and He is the One I turn to for guidance comfort, and peace. Jesus’ example enables us to better understand his personal qualities such as love, compassion tolerance and peace." My question is WHO is this Jesus? Is He YHWH? Wondering about your "theology" . . . mommapbs |

152 | What is the "sign to be opposed?" | Luke 2:34 | Mommapbs | 106864
What is the "sign to be opposed?" Is this referencing the response of those as noted in Luke 23:35-59? Does this passage point also to the "sign of Jonah" (Mt 12:38-40) and perhaps refer to the rejection of the Risen Christ by unbelievers today? |

153 | What is this salvation? | Luke 2:30 | Mommapbs | 106863
What is this salvation? Note how the Amplified captializes "Salvation!" Did Simeon see salvation as a thing or a Person? Perhaps we need to embrace the Christ Child in the same manner as Simeon - with our eyes not on the creche, but on the cross. Comments? |

154 | With WHOM is God pleased? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106566
Another question on this verse! Re: "with whom He is pleased." What is the object of God's pleasure in this verse? As far as I can see there are two possibilities. Is it His "peace?" (meaning Jesus - "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Luke 3:22) Or is it mankind? Could it be both? |

155 | Is there peace on earth? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106537
Is there really any "peace on earth?" So often I hear these words at Christmastime, but how does this verse compare to what Jesus said about His coming in Matthew 10:34 (Luke 12:51),"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." ? How might the world confuse the peace that God offers? Is this peace conditional? ("among men with who He is pleased")I believe there is much to think about in this familiar verse that transcends the "Christmas Story." What are your thoughts? |

156 | Have YOU been with Jesus? | Acts 4:13 | Mommapbs | 106376
Consider this: would any know that YOU had "been with Jesus?" What should be "observable" by others? Should we be "amazing" to them? I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks BTW, I'm not wild about the Amplified translation of "confidence." I think that because many lack "unfettered eloquence" this may be a source of discouragement for some. Do read the great previous posts on this verse from Makarios and Kalos! mommapbs |

157 | Age to come? | Matt 12:32 | Mommapbs | 106024
Greetings Searcher, I know this is an old post, but as I read this verse (Mt 12:32), the words "age to come" caught my attention. You wrote: "Age is aion (Strong's 165) , which can mean period of time (this age) which will last until the next aion (the age to come) which is eternity, another meaning of aion." How can anyone speak against the Spirit in eternity when sin is no longer present? mommapbs |

158 | What preparation is Jesus talking about? | John 14:2 | Mommapbs | 105971
Is the cross the place that Jesus went to prepare a place for us? Since there are already dwelling places, what preparation is Jesus talking about?

Greetings EdB! Re: "But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.' Matthew 21:38. What did God give to Jesus? mommapbs |
