121 | How our Loving God commanded such things | Not Specified | jlpangilinan | 126180
To: Tim Moran, Makarios, Hank, Ray, Emmaus. I hope you were around. How a Loving and just God commanded such things? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. We can maybe assume that amalek was very evil person, how about the infants? Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Why the must kill the infants? they unskilfull about righteousness. Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. God bless, |

123 | j. witnesses do not give blood. counter | Matt 12:1 | jlpangilinan | 126157
The scriptures silent on blood transfusion, the teaching about blood in acts 15 are we dont eat blood, this commandments are repeatedly mentioned in OT. About blood transfusions, we are not eating the blood to make our self full or because we we are hungry, it is help savings life. We can cure someone by giving our blood. It is the same we donating parts of the body, eyes. kidney or heart because we want to help. Sacrificial I must say. Ro 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Ro 16:4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. It that passages above, paul mentioned names of those people who sacrifice for his safety those are sacrifice. Donating blood sometimes is sacrifice. Here in the Philippines, dengue fever is one of the most dangerous virus, especially children and elderly person. This kind of sickness is very painful, make the nose of the patient bleed, lips crack, intestines bleed and eventually will destroy the cell of patient brain and of coure die! Until now there is no vaccine that can cure that viruses, the only solution we have right now is blood transfusion no other cure yet. For if someone in your family will have this virus, then the doctor told you that the only cure is blood tansfusion, do you think you just ignore it and watch your family member die in very painful way? Again the scriptures is silent about blood tansfusions bur scriptures ok in sacrifce, help savings someone lives. God bless, |

124 | Is Solomon in heaven or hell? | Prov 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 126048
If we read the passages from the books of kings we may concluded that solomon could be go to hell after judgement. 1Ki 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 1Ki 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 1Ki 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 1Ki 11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. 1Ki 11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. 1Ki 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods. But if you aske me if solomon is now in heaven, NO hes not there! Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. "no man hath ascended up to heaven" including solomon. God bless, |

125 | Does talents and gifts not count as tith | 2 Cor 9:7 | jlpangilinan | 125958
Not necessarily, Mt 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. "the things unto God's" Mt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. That is what Christ asking us, not just a dollar, pound, peso etc. it is love. If you you are going to ask if ten percent is requirements for today NO! God bless, |

126 | birth control use | Gen 38:10 | jlpangilinan | 125953
There is no clear statement from the Bible about birth control. Me and my wife, practicing what we call normal birth conrol (not using any medicine, contraceptives, etc) we have one child, a daughter. We do this to make sure that we can support our daughter to feed her good, and send her in good school to have good education. I think there is not wrong about the intentions. Philippines are over populated, 4.5 million jobless, the survey says most of those jobless are live in squatter area, survey also said that those jobless are the most have many children, averaging 8 or 9 child per household. Imagine having 10 children without permanent income? 2Co 12:14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. 127 | Tithing fact or fiction | 2 Cor 9:7 | jlpangilinan | 125948
If the tithe he is talkig about is 10 percent of the income, it is not applicapble today. 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. If you give a certain amount to any members, it is means that you required them under the law. Giving under the Christ teaching is love offering, the amount that purpose of your heart. Tithe is under the law of moses, law as apostle paul said will not justify us. Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Why keep doing the things that will not justify us? Aside from that, we are commanded not to fufill only part of the law, but all of the law. If someone taught us to observe part of the law, you must observe all of it, otherwise Christ will call us hypocrytes. Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. If you observe the law of the tithes, you must observe other matters on it such as stone to death your brother and sisters if you found them going out in sabbath day, stone to death those committed aldultery, you must not eat the food that prohibited by the law etc. etc. Christ fulfill the law different ways, we must always be reminded about that. Giving is good, if you can give half, full, or everything you have, it is acceptable to God. But NO amount required. God bless, |

129 | Once saved, always saved? | Matt 27:5 | jlpangilinan | 125546
You are welcome. I found different views, and answer to your question. That is the beauty of the forum. I would like to quote some part of your statement. Quote "So once someone has repented, asked God to forgive them and asked God into their heart they are bound to heaven regardless of their relationship with Him or how they live their life."end of quote. We are created to HIS good works, and we should walk in them: Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. relationship with God is NOT what you said "regardless" there are requirements of being save! Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. It is unbelievable that a saved person after receiving Christ as his saviour will do suicide, or other crimes which is prohibited in the Bible. Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, If we sin wifully after that we "received the knowledge of the truth" you see it is not permitted that after asking forgiveness you are forgiven past, present, future sins. There is always, a guidelines. Now, maybe you would ask, "once save is always save" is not true?. My view on this is the example of the life of Paul, before he knew Christ he is a different person forsake followers of Christ hanged them stone them to death. But once he knew and receive Christ, he became a new person, and dont go back do the things he done before. Ga 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. A save person live not himself but it is Christr lives in Him, If Christ lives in you, it is impossible to do killing, suicide and whatsoever wrongdoings you can think of, otherwise what Christ it that lives in you. If we think we are save, but then still do the things we done before, we are not save, we are just like dogs that return in his vomit! A dog returneth to his vomit, NOT a save person. Pr 26:11 ¶ As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. God bless, |

130 | How does BC correspond to Bible times. | Matt 3:3 | jlpangilinan | 125465
As we all know, B.C. means before Christ, for example the book of ISAIAH it was mentioned there the reign of the King and uzzia's death which is (B.C. 762) meaning uzzia died 762 year before Christ was born it is an opposit how we count years in our time for example we are now in 2004, two thousand and four years after Jesus Christ born. A.D. means anno domini in english Year of Our Lord. I hope it would helps. God bless, Isaiah, The Book of consists of prophecies delivered (ISA 1) in the reign of Uzziah (1-5), (2) of Jotham (6), (3) Ahaz (7-14:28), (4) the first half of Hezekiah's reign (14:28-35), (5) the second half of Hezekiah's reign (36-66). Thus, counting from the fourth year before Uzziah's death (B.C. 762) to the last year of Hezekiah (B.C. 698), Isaiah's ministry extended over a period of sixty-four years. He may, however, have survived Hezekiah, and may have perished in the way indicated above. |

131 | Bible's view on suicide? | Matt 27:5 | jlpangilinan | 125419
The account about suicide I could think of is Judas. Mt 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. If we can see he committed suicide because of guilt, not remembering what Jesus Christ taught. If judas only remember that Christ can still forgive Him on His sin, he maybe asking it instead of hang himself. Lu 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots Christian as a son of God, is not fearful, we are strong remembering that we are sons of God. Committing suicide sometimes is a result of lack of faith, fearful, and guilt. Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Christ also taught us to love our nighbor as we love our self, meaning we have to love our self, remembering that it is a temple of Christ. Mr 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Lastly, God commanded us not to kill: Thou shall not kill. suicide is killing. Christ said, those who can enter the Kingdom of heaven, are those who do the will of the Father. I am sure suicide is not a part of that WILL. Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. |

133 | Tithes | Mal 3:8 | jlpangilinan | 125135
If you reffering to the 10 percent of your income, NO! 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Apostle paul said, "every man give according to the purpose of his heart" meaning no percentages, if put a percentage in giving it is not anymore a purpose, but a law! This topic, has been discussed many times in this forum, but once again let me share with you what Christ said about it: Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. in the passages above Christ stated that those who observe the law must observe everything included in the law otherwise they are called hypocryte!. In that verse also we see that scribes are strict in imposing the law in tithe and not the most important. Now if you observe the tithe, which is part of the law, you must observe other things which is included in the law i.e stone to death our brother in sister if we caught them go out in the day of sabbath! The doctor should not go out and attend to their patient in the day of sabbath! are doing that? NO. Do we really need to pay tithe which is included in the law? NO! Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Are the tithes inluded in the law of moses? YES! TITHE The first Mosaic law on this subject is recorded in Le 27:30-32. Subsequent legislation regulated the destination of the tithes (Nu 18:21-24,26-28; De 12:5-6,11,17; 14:22-23). The paying of the tithes was an important part of the Jewish religious worship. Is the tihe is for Christian? NO! De 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day. It was given specifically to them, not for us. If that covenant are excluded thier fathers how about Christians. I am not saying that giving is wrong, but it should be NO dictated amount or percentage otherwise it will fall under LAW. IF you can give 20 percent or half of your salary it is acceptable to God, but in your own purpose not somebody will impose to collect a percentages! Think about it, read more, God bless, |

134 | another question about worshipw/o belief | Col 2:9 | jlpangilinan | 125131
Quote "But can you worship Him? Can you respect, and honor someone you don't believe or have faith in? I don't believe you can, but I am looking for scripture and an easy way to explain this to a group of children tonight at church. I guess this is what Jesus meant in John 4:24 when he said "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." end of quote. I think you are contradictiing yourself here. How can you worship the "someone you dont believe" if you dont believed on someone, how can you worship that "someone" which is for you is not existing? for example you dont believed in God, meaning you dont believed that He is existed. Now how can you worship someone you dont believed? If you worship Him you must worship Him in "Truth" meaning you believed on Him Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. |

The name of david's mother was not recorded in the scripture: David beloved, the eighth and youngest son of Jesse, a citizen of Bethlehem. His father seems to have been a man in humble life. 137 | Who was Potiphar? | Gen 39:1 | jlpangilinan | 125124
Potiphar dedicated to Ra; i.e., to the sun-god, the Egyptian to whom the Ishmaelites sold Joseph (Ge 39:1). He was "captain of the guard", i.e., chief, probably, of the state police, who, while they formed part of the Egyptian army, were also largely employed in civil duties (Ge 37:36; marg., "chief of the executioners"). Joseph, though a foreigner, gradually gained his confidence, and became overseer over all his possessions. Believing the false accusation which his profligate wife brought against Joseph, Potiphar cast him into prison, where he remained for some years. (See Joseph.) EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY ENTRY |

138 | Why does God repent in 1 Samuel 35? | 1 Sam 13:13 | jlpangilinan | 125121
A single hebrew word in manuscript sometimes has different meaning, "repented" in that passages was rightly translated "grieved" to be sorry. God is not a man:(king james) Nu 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? As we can see, the same translated stated that God is not a man "that should repent". 139 | do i have to worship loudly? | Bible general Archive 2 | jlpangilinan | 124923
Worshiping is not just how loud or noise it is, the important is do you really praise Him in your heart? Mt 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: Mt 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Mt 6:5 ¶ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
