121 | Does satan already know he is defeated? | Matt 8:29 | humility | 214573
Surely, Satan knows that He has been defeated, He knows what the Bible says and He knows who Jesus is! After Adam and Eve gave into his temptation, God prophesied unto Satan (the serpent) what shall be His final outcome in Gen 3:14-15. Jesus (who represents the "Seed",(Galtians 3:15-16) of the woman (Mary)) against Satan and his "seed" (the wicked),they bruised Him (his heel) at the cross but He rose three days later and bruised Satan's head when He resurrected early that Sunday morning! Satan know's what happened at the cross was the fulfillment of the first prophecy and many other Bible prophecies found in the writings of Moses, The Psalms, Isaiah and all the other prophets used by God. That's why they called the hill where Jesus was crucified, Golgotha (the place of a skull), because that's where He crushed Satan's skull for all of us. Jesus took the keys of death and hell from Satan that very same day! All we have to do is reach out and accept this precious gift of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of heaven is ours for ever! That's why Satan is working overtime to destroy the faith and lives many! He hates everything and everyone that God has created. He knows that He only has but a short time before Jesus comes for His children. (Rev 12:7-12). That's why He uses false christs and false prophets in the last days to deceive as possible even God's chosen people. (Matt 24:24)
122 | Did Jesus ever drink wine? | Matt 11:19 | humility | 215927
What is God's view on alcoholic concumption? "Wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." (Prov 20:1) How can we be sure that the wine Jesus used at Passover (Lord's Supper) was non-alcoholic? It was a strict law of God that at the time of Passover all leaven or fermented articles were to be removed from the house. Fermentation and Leaven is a sign of corruption. The wine used at Passover was distinctly a symbol of Christ's blood, shed to establish the new covenant. He will drink of the same kind of new wine with His redeemed in the kingdom of heaven where decomposition and fermentation will never occur. What is the effect of drinking alcoholic beverages? "Who has woe, who has sorrow, who has contentions, who has babblings, who has wounds without cause, who has redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine" "At last it bites like a serpent, and it stings like an adder" (Prov.23:29,30). Why were kings prohibited the use of strong drink? "It is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes strong drink; lest they drink and forget the law and pervert the judgement of any of the afflicted" (Prov.31:4,5). Why were priests prohibited the use of strong drink? "And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine or strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation,...that ye may put a difference between holy and unholy, and between clean and unclean" (Lev.10:8-10,cf.Ezek.44:21). What two titles does God give to His redeemed people? "Kings and Priests. See 1 Pet.2:6,9; Rev.1:5,6. True Christians are spiritual kings and priests, washed in the blood of Christ and enlisted into His service as royal ambassadors. They have perpetual access by His Spirit into the heavenly sanctuary. (2 Cor.5:18-20; Heb.10:19-23) How did Daniel respond to the temptation to drink wine at the king's court in Babylon? Dan.1:8-20. He refused it, but drank water instead. In consequence he was blessed with superior health and mental ability. Will alcoholics who continue to drink have a favorable destiny? "Be not deceived...drunkards...will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor.6:9,10 cf. 1 Cor.5:11; Gal.5:19-21) What kind of wine is acceptable and wholesome? "The new wine found in the cluster, destroy it not...for a blessing is in it." "The pure blood of the grape" (Isa 65:8; Deut 32:14). It is medicinal, non-alcoholic. 1 Tim.5:23. What source of inspiration does God want for us instead of fermented wine? "Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Holy Spirit." (Eph.5:18;cf.Acts 2:1-18) "Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Cor.10: Although not the normal drink of the day, intoxicating wine (old wine) did exist in Bible times, and in every case they received unfavorable references. Just look up "strong drink" in your Bible concordance or use the search bar on the right side of the Forum's web page. Here are some additional references you could look up. (Ps.60:3, Isa.5:22, Isa.28:7-8, Jer.25:15, Hab.2:5,15. Ps.58:4, Prov.4:16,17) God bless you, and I hope this helps you. |

123 | Hebrews 2:3-4 | Matt 12:39 | humility | 215412
What do you say to a person who says, "It's "harder" to be saved in these last days than it was back in the Bible days, because back in the Bible days, there was alot more miracle, signs and wonders being performed by God and His messengers than it is today. I'm not saying that I have to see signs in order to believe that there is a God, but miracles are a great ways of proving the existence of God. Just look at the incident where Moses parted the red sea, If something like that was to happen today, alot more people would be followers of Christ."
124 | How Holy Is Marriage? | Matt 16:6 | humility | 213370
We know that same-sex marriage is a sin, but why is'nt it a sin to marry non-christians? If it's not right for two men or two women to be married, why all of a sudden, is it right to marry two thieves or two murderers? Sin is sin, and marriage is only supposed to be for "Holy people", that's why we call it Holy Matrimony right

I don't get it! How could Peter and the other apostles recognize Jesus as the Messiah yet the religious leaders and the other Jews did'nt? 129 | How similar would we be to the angels? | Matt 22:30 | humility | 218573
I have two questions. 1. Is Jesus saying that we will not be able to recognize our spouses or loved ones when we get to heaven? 2. Will we be having sex in heaven? I don't think angels do, the Hebrew writer said they're ministering "spirits".
130 | Could someone please explain Matt 24:36? | Matt 24:36 | humility | 212723
If Jesus is God, how come He does'nt know exactly when the world would come to an end? In matthew chapter 24, He gave us signs to look out for, but He does'nt say exactly when. Do you think it's because He does'nt know, or is it because it was not for US to know?

133 | Should "lost" people come to church? | Luke 5:31 | humility | 218653
Dear fallen4shell, I liken the Kingdom of God unto an Hospital. We, as believers, are God's doctors and nurses. Responsible for the nourishment of the sin-sicked souls around us. Whether they be family members, friends or whoever! Sometimes by a doctor or nurse rubbing shoulder and fellowshipping with a patient, it opens that patients heart and mind toward the things pertaning to good health. They may learn that six to eight glasses of water might be better than eight glasses of soda a day. A patient who recognizes that he's sick and in need of a Physician could easily be nursed into perfect health. Even patients who don't really understand the seriousness of their condition, by having good doctors and nurses as friends is like a man finding treasure hidden in a field. (1 Cor 9:19-27) |

135 | why pigs | Luke 8:26 | humility | 214372
Jesus sent the demons into the pigs because they both had one thing in common to Him, they were unclean. In the book of Leviticus chapter 11:8,also Deut 14:8, Jesus commanded Moses and the children of Israel not to eat the swine because they were unclean for human consumption. Look it up Searcher, there are other unclean animals listed as well. your health is very important!
136 | why pigs | Luke 8:26 | humility | 214388
Dear John, you're absolutely correct; we should never even attempt to put words or thoughts into our Lord's mind. However if you would study the old testament sanctuary carefully, you would understand who Jesus is and what sin really. There are lots truths that are overlooked in the old testament, that we claim was "nailed to the cross"; when Jesus would never do such things.

138 | Do the dead praise God? | Luke 16:23 | humility | 215072
If death is just a sleep, why do some Christians believe that when we die, we go immediately to heaven or hell? Did Jesus call Lazarus back from death or from heaven? (John 11)
139 | Do the dead praise God? | Luke 16:23 | humility | 215083
The rich man and Lazarus was a parable Jesus used to teach us to be faithful stewards with whatever God blesses us with, and not to neglect the "Lazarus'" of the world. The poor and needy, the lost, the hopeless, Jesus was not saying that we are judged immediately after we die. That would be contradicting what He said in (John 5:28-29). We are judged at His second-coming. Furthermore, Abraham is not in heaven,(according to Hebrews 11:39-40), nor is David (Acts 2:29-35) or the other patriarchs except Enoch, Moses, Elijah and those who raised from the dead along with our Lord, Jesus (Matt 27:51-53). Absent from the body, present with the Lord meaning, when our breath leaves our body, the next conscious thing we are going to experience is the resurrection. It does'nt say absent from the body, IMMEDIATELY PRESENT with the Lord. When God told Adam and Eve that they would surely die, did they die IMMEDIATELY after they ate the forbidden fruit? NO! But they surely did die years later! |

Death is not only sleep for the Christian, Val. It's a sleep for the wicked as well. Jesus said it, not me. (John 5:28-29)
