124 | reference to sexual nature | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 186734
Greetings! A couple of things to consider! What would give you reason to even consider if this was right or wrong? Surely the enemy would have no problem with the matter! Reasoning something away by justifying it as it's really not so bad implies compromise in my opinion. Another good reason to consider what it is that would even try and convince you this would be okay. Let me know if you find any humor on the matter in scripture. It’s my opinion that if your approach lacks integrity and honor to God it matters not how successful the venture is by worldly standards! By Faith, Steve |

Greetings! And may I say welcome to the forum! Might I suggest that you spend a little more time on the forum to gain a better understanding of those who post here before jumping to assumptions and seeking to shame them and accusing them of not studying scripture. So far you have offered OPINION but nothing else. If you had taken the time to gain a better understanding of those you seek to shame and accuse of not studying scripture you might just be surprised on which side of the debate they fall on. If you have spent as much time in study of this subject as you say then I believe you will be able to discern from the post on many subjects which side of this debate one falls on as ones belief on this matter clearly influences their interpretation on other doctrines. I am in charge! You didn't know that? I thought everyone knew that???? I'm just kidding! I've made no claim to be in charge and I'm not your enemy. If you go back and read my post and stop jumping to conclusions and making false accusations as you once again did in your response ("what I saw was an attack on a new Christian") you will notice I'm trying to draw your attention to the fact your assuming way too much. There is more going on here then you understand. I would have thought pointing out to you that you might be surprised on which side of the debate some fall on and that if you take the time to see where they stand before making accusations then you would have a better understanding of what was going on. After all, you have been here less then a week! By the way, this is not the O.K. Corral. No need to take a shot at someone every time you make a post. Just so happens those you falsely accuse are brothers in Christ. Here's a test for you. Which side of the debate do you think I fall on? Your Brother in Christ, Steve |

128 | once saved always saved | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 188190
Are you an atheist? Is your intent to disrupt this forum? 1 Corinthians 2:11-14 (NASB) 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 2:13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. Romans 3:23 (NASB) 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 6:23 (NASB) 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 5:8 (NASB) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:13 (NASB) for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." Romans 10:9 (NASB) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; Romans 5:1 (NASB) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 8:1 (NASB) Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:38-39 (NASB) 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB) 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Steve |

136 | Why is Enoch not at the Trasnfiguration? | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 192837
J-man, I don't know that the scriptures speak to why Moses and Elijah were there but Enoch was not. Apparently their ascension had no bearing on this. I've read the speculation that perhaps this represented the three groups of people that will be present when Christ institutes His kingdom on earth. "The disciples represent individuals who will be present in physical bodies. Moses represents saved individuals who have died or will die. Elijah represents saved individuals who will not experience death, but will be caught up to heaven alive"—Bible Knowledge Commentary Naturally, it should be noted this is nothing more then speculation on their part. There is no scriptural evidence that I'm aware of that gives any validity to this. Steve |

137 | Why is Enoch not at the Trasnfiguration? | Bible general Archive 3 | humbledbyhisgrace | 192848
Hi Grace... J-man is the one who ask the question :-) You responded to me. Just letting you know so if he doesn't read your post he may not see your answer. More then likely he will though so it's probably no big deal :-) I may have confused things by referring to him as J-man instead of his screen name. Sorry about that but the truth is, I don't feel comfortable calling him by the chosen screen name. Don't mean anything by that by the way it's just me :-) Thanks for your post! Steve |

Your welcome Sister! And don't get discouraged. Before you know it, it will all be clear as mud :-) I've been there myself so I can relate. By the way, the best advise I can give you on how the forum web site works is to keep in mind there is no edit option so once it's posted, well there is no taking it back :-( May God bless you too! Greetings rcdave99! Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Have you checked out the articles section of the web site? Perhaps this will give you some insight to why they translated it as they did. Here is a link to the page http://www.scripture4all.org/articles/Index.htm You may want to contact them and ask. They have a contact us page also. Possibly they would respond to your question of why. It's worth a try! God Bless, Steve |
