121 | When does caressing go too far ? | 2 Corinthians | Jeshuafreak | 52891
If either of you don't like it than don't do it obviously there are some things that aren' t biblically correct but where the Bible is silent let's not shout. Thank you for your feedback.****** You said, "Things like sadism. masochism, bondage and discipline, sodomy, and an almost endless number of bizarre fetishes. Sexual aberrations demean and debase the marriage bed and mock the sacred bond of matrimony. --Hank"*** I agree this would not be love ...... although anything that would be pleasing to one another..and I am not getting specific...seeing as this is a public forum. Use some sense and communicate openly with your wife or husband about what they would like. There are quite a few books on sexual intamacy written for Christians. One I recommend is 'Sexual Intamacy in Marriage' (foreward by Tony and Lois Evans) written by William Cutrer, M.D. and Sandra Glahn. ** I have the revised edition and obtained it through Focus On the Family. It is very concise and touches on alot of topics that can't be shared here. |

123 | When does caressing go too far ? | 2 Corinthians | Jeshuafreak | 52868
It goes too far when either of you, either the husband or the wife, finds the act uncomfortable or wrong. One partner should not make the other do something they don't want to do. Otherwise anything goes in marriage. Between only the two of you of course, we can't invite anybody else into our marriage. This includes pornography, this is a form of adultry of the heart. ****** Hebrews 13:4Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. |

125 | Is premarital sex a sin? | 1 Corinthians | Jeshuafreak | 52859
sex was designed for marriage. The Bible condemns not only adultery, but premarital sex, or fornication (Mk 7:21; Eph 5:5; Heb 13:4). The wisdom of our Christian tradition teaches us that only the complete commitment to one another that comes with marriage is the proper setting for sexual intimacy. Marriage is much more than just "a piece of paper." It is only in marriage that we publicly give ourselves to each other, belong to each other, become responsible for one another, "in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health," all the days of our lives******** http://www.brasstacks.org/premarital-sex/tant.htm (here is what I found for you.) "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body; but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (I Corinthians 6:18). |

126 | Predestination of each individual? | Rom 8:29 | Jeshuafreak | 52853
Romans 8 (NIV)********* 28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[1] who[2] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?********** Ephesians 1 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he[1] predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. ******* Ephesians 1 10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 11In him we were also chosen,[1] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. ******* And that is all i found Hope this helped you.****SEARCH HERE**** http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible/ |

128 | where did this teaching come from? | Acts 2:37 | Jeshuafreak | 52817
Ray- Thank you for your passion on what is truelly important. I agree with you about leaving behind the trivial and press forward to what is truelly significant. With that said I must maintain that water baptism , though it won't negate you from the entrance into heaven it is something we must do as a result of our conversion to a Holy Spirit filled life. We are baptized publicly to confess to all that we are buried with Christ and resurected with Him to eternal glory. If you are able, and I assume you are in a healthy well balanced church, than by all means be baptized. Again I thank you for your passion. May God illuminate your heart and mind with His Word. -Jeshuafreak |

THE FAITH OF A CHILD You wrote---- "She has shared this situation with me and is very concerned because the infants were not baptised before burial. She said that she has learned since then from reading that she could have baptised them herself."------- The child is undoubtably with the Lord. They died before the age of accountability. If the child is old enough to know that what they do is either wrong or right..then they are old enough to accept Christ into their heart. The Gospel of Christ Jesus is simple enough for even a child to understand but it seems to get flooded with RELIGIOSTY the older we get or the deeper into ones religion we get. LET US GET BACK TO BASICS. The little child can be told the gospel like this, "You know ,Billy, what you did was wrong." He nods his little head, "uh huh." "You also know that it doesn't make me very happy. Well, we all have a bigger Daddy who is God in heaven He isn't happy either when we do wrong things. He wants us to do right things, but we can't always. We will goof it up once in a while. The good thing to do is say your sorry for what you did and try not to do it again. Even I make mistakes and have to say I am sorry for what I did. (this is assuming your child knows the real reason we celebrate Christmas and Ressurection Sunday) "Billy, you know about baby Jesus, and you know about him growing and never doing anything wrong. Well He did that his whole life. Even when bad men came to hurt him and then killed him on the cross. That was really sad but the Good News is that 3 days later Jesus woke up with a brand new body, one that could never die again. Billy, do you know why He died?" Billy shakes his head, "uh uh". "Billy, Jesus died so we could have all the wrong things we do forgotten. WE still have to try not to do bad things, but God sent His Son Jesus to show us how we are to live, that's why your daddy is always reading the Bible and telling you stories from the Bible. You know, like the Jonah and the big fish? Did you know that Jesus can live in your heart and help you do good things?" Billy shakes his head, "uh uh." "Well He can and He wants to. Do you want Him in your heart to help you start doing good things?" Billy nods his head, "uh huh." "OK good He would like that very much. (notice I put the emphasis on HE would like that not I would like that. We don't need to manipulate them into accepting Jesus into their heart, the Holy Spirit will nudge them in His own way, we just need to tell our children about the Lord.) "Ok Billy, Jesus will never be rude and come into your heart without you asking Him. You have to let Him. Understand? If you want Him to come in then say this, "Jesus I am sorry for all the bad things I have done and I want to make your Daddy happy by doing right things. Will You help me? Will You come to live in my heart and make all the bad stuff forgotten and make my heart brand new? Thank You Jesus for loving me and dying for me and for waking up too. I love You Jesus and thank you for wanting to live in my heart." (never tlak down to your kids always meet them on their level, eye to eye, you will be surprised of how much they understand. They are smarter than us sometimes. As adults we tend to over-intelectualize things. God bless you all and I hope this helps some people.) AND FOR ALL THE BIG PEOPLE OUT THERE---- Sola-Scriptura!! http://www.mbrem.com/-- Read the book of James, for a faith that works. Letter to the (Roman Catholics)----And all the rest of us too. Romans 8:29-31 29For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those He predestined, He also called; those he called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |

Verse 28. Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead,.... Either with their nails, tearing their cheeks and other parts, or with any instrument, knife, razor,. Jarchi says, it was the custom of the Amorites, when anyone died, to cut their flesh, as it was of the Scythians, as Herodotus relates, even those of the royal family; for a king they cut off a part of the ear, shaved the hair round about, cut the arms about, wounded the forehead and nose, and transfixed the left hand with arrows; and so the Carthaginians, who might receive it from the Phoenicians, being a colony of theirs, used to tear their hair and mouths in mourning, and beat their breasts ; and with the Romans the women used to tear their cheeks in such a manner that it was forbid by the law of the twelve tables, which some have thought was taken from hence: and all this was done to appease the infernal deities, and to give them satisfaction for the deceased, and to make them propitious to them, as Varro affirms; and here it is said to be made "for the soul," for the soul of the departed, to the honour of it, and for its good, though the word is often used for a dead body: now, according to the Jewish canons , whosoever made but one cutting for a dead person was guilty, and to be scourged; and he that made one for five dead men, or five cuttings for one dead man, was obliged to scourging for everyone of them: nor print any marks upon you; Aben Ezra observes, there are some that say this is in connection with the preceding clause, for there were who marked their bodies with a known figure, by burning, for the dead; and he adds, and there are to this day such, who are marked in their youth in their faces, that they may be known; these prints or marks were made with ink or black lead, or, however, the incisions in the flesh were filled up therewith; but this was usually done as an idolatrous practice; so says Ben Gersom, this was the custom of the Gentiles in ancient times, to imprint upon themselves the mark of an idol, to show that they were his servants; and the law cautions from doing this, as he adds, to the exalted name (the name of God): in the Misnah it is said , a man is not guilty unless he writes the name, as it is said, Leviticus 19:28; which the Talmudists and the commentators interpret of the name of an idol, and not of God: |

Justme- Yes my friend, I too got saved after a life of blatant sin, which I did not know was sin. I read my Bible so much and highlighted practically the entire New Testament..haha. It has been about 4 years now and I realize that this is always up hill, always against the stream of socity and always against our natural tendencies, which is to sin. Only by the Spirit of God can we even begin this journey and only by His Spirit can we continue in it. We don't need to know everything. God will reveal His Word to us and make it plain at that moment we need it. All we need to do is read the Scriptures and pray. Be obedient to His Spirit. Sensitize yourself to His still small voice by staying roote in His word. Keep His word in your mind always. "Chew the cud." The Lord has quickened our conscience, which was once seared by our ever increasing sin, but now we are made new and free from the old bloated body of death. Praise God for His tender mercies. -Jeshuafreak |

No not too sqeemish. I have been reading through the entire Bible along with Max McLean. (copy and paste this URL)--------------http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible/----------click on any of the books from NIV version and you will be able to listen to Max McLean-----I have made it up to 1 Chronicles 15 now. What a parralel of our Christian walk with the Israelites! I have gotten so much more than I realized I would out of the Old Testament, though I have to be honest, my eye was starting to glaze over during the looooonnnnggggg list of geneologies. Thank the Lord that Max McLean can hold ones attention. I have also been reading along with Max online. Good to get the Word in the ear gate and the eye gate at the same time. It keeps me focused and helps to keep my mind from wandering. Oh yeah, I was going to ask you about the woman who came to rescue her husband. She came out after the other man and grabbed him by the testicles. Her hand was cut off. Now there was no specific reason, other than her action. Is this because she was not letting her husband fight his own battles? Or was her hand now considered unclean? Either way I think this was a rather harsh punishment to do to her. I guess she learned something...heh, this still is quite harsh. later, jeshuafreak |
