Hi Tim, Thanks for the clarification, b ut you maintain that God would not change His mind.In this connection,I quote fromJonah3:10 "......He had compassion and did not bring upon them the des- truction He had intended." Does this not mean that out of compassion God changed His mind? On the surface,it would appear that God did change His mind, but theologically, you may be able to explain it to be otherwise. Your further comments, please. Thanks FytRobert |

Hi Tim, Thanks for your comments. According to the information gathered thus far, it is safe to say that due to compassionate and circ-umstantial situations,God did not bring to pass-certain punitive actions He had in mind. To a layman's perception, this is tantamount to 'change of mind'. This matter as it stand is not crystal clear, I would therefore welcome any further input. Thanks. |

Hi, Moses brought down the 10 commandments [Exodus20] and the Laws as enumerated in Exodus21 more than 2000 years ago.Living conditions, life style, human behavior and etc, etc.have since changed considerably. Thus, how relevant are these Laws to the present time? Maybe, some of these can be considered as obsolete! Your comments, please. With Love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Emmaus, Thank you for your response to my question which is appended hereunder for ease of reference. "Moses brought down the 10 commandments[Exodus20] and the Laws as enumerated in Exodus 21 more than 2000 years ago.Living conditions, life style, human behavour and etc,etc have since changed considerably. Thus, how relevant are these Laws to the present time? Maybe some of these can be considered obsolete!" Repeat- some of the Laws only!To illustrate my point, I quote a couple of examples: 1.Exodus21:15 Anyone who attacks his father or mother must be put to death. 2.21:16 Anyone who kidnaps another-----must be put to death. 3.21:17 Anyone who curseshis father or mother must be put to death. Are these Laws still relevant to present time? Your comments are invited. With love in Christ. FytRobert |

Hi Emmaus, Thanks for your prompt reply but regretably, you are off the mark.In my question, there is no inkling at all as to whether God has changed His mind.My question was simple and direct. Are some of the Laws which were pronounced 2000 years plus ago are still relevant to-day? With your vast knowledge of the Bible and of the world, I am inclined to believe that you will be able to throw some light on this matter. With love in Christ. FytRobert |
