121 | difference in a Christians funeral? | Bible general | justme | 241531
How should a Christians funeral be different to being Glory to the LORD GOD Almighty. I have see a number of funerals that the only difference from a non-Christian was the songs they sang. Have you given instructions the way you want to praise the LORD when you have gone to be with Jesus Christ?

124 | Defend the Offender-Attack the Offended? | Bible general | jeremiah1five | 241663
QUOTE: (found on the page I view) "Note to viewers: This thread has been temporarily restricted from appearing on the homepage. If you submit a question, answer, or note to this thread, it will be processed and added to the thread, but will not appear on the homepage." I'd like to ask why is the Holy Spirit within me being muzzled and you attempting to control my gift and call in Christ? Christians should love honesty and truthfulness, not try to control God and God's servant. Why am I being treated so disrespectfully? First you defend the offender and false accuser and then you attack the offended. This is ungodly. |

127 | Christianity blend of OT and Exhile | Bible general | blacik | 241726
The Old Testament, shaped as it was as a response to Exile, had few apocalyptic sections and did not reflect an apocalyptic world view. Second Temple Judaism became very apocalyptic. Discuss how christianity is a blend of both OT thinking about exile and the future and to temple oppression and jewish dreams of the future. Thanks!

133 | Please help a new Christian | Bible general | zeagle50 | 241845
hello everyone - I am new to this site. thanks in advance for your help. 1. I have 2 questions: does got punish us for our sins on earth by making us sick? I been sick for about 7 months and I think god is punishing me but iam am confused about it. I recently accepted Jesus as my savior and asked him to come into my life. I told him I believe he died for my sins and through him I can have eternal life. But I don't really feel any different? I don't know if he is really in my life. I have been reading the bible and his promises to us but I just don't feel he is listening / answering my prayers . I pray every day, read, and am trying to have a relationship with him. I am trying to follow the ten commandments, and being a good Christian, but just cant see / feel god in my life Does he not want me? I am really trying to have a relationship with Jesus but I just don't feel it. thanks to all |

134 | Thank you Doc | Bible general | zeagle50 | 241852
Hello Doc and thank you for your answers. I did read Matthew 17:20 , Luke 17:5-10. I think I get it. I am like the slaves. God is the master. I should be serving him and then ask him for help??? I know in Luke he was talking to the disciples when he was talking about having faith like a mustard seed. But I thought if I have a small amount of faith (like a mustard seed) He would answer my prayer. I know I am not a disciple or looking to drive out demons into pigs, but it still sound like if you have faith he will answer your prayer. I will keep reading.!!! Also, I read the Matthew versus, If I am being punished by god that’s probably a good thing because it shows he loves me. Should I start at the beginning of the bible or just keep reading different parts? Thanks again |

138 | Why present tense used in Isiah 53:4-5 | Bible general | Bob777 | 241986
In Isiah 53:4-5 it says: “…by his stripes we are healed.” Present tense is used here. 1 Peter 2:24 it says: “…by whose stripes ye were healed.” Past tense is used here. I’m guessing 1 Peter 2:24 uses past tense since Jesus’s atonement had already been done to provide for salvation and healing. Is that right? Since the attonement hasn’t happened yet in Isiah 53:4-5, why is present tense used? |
