121 | Identical verses? | Acts 9:1 | prayon | 74265
Thanks Ray but what I need are identical verses. One of my instructors challenged us to come up with a verse in Acts that he can't tell us where it is found. We have found the only way to stump him is to find a whole verse that is repeated word for word or almost word for word. It is worth 5 points added on to our grade at the end of the semester........Something me and my old brain could very much use... ;o) prayon
122 | Can a christian forgive sins? | Luke 11:4 | prayon | 73532
Greetings, just a note.... We must remember that we can forgive a person for "wronging" us. That releases us from unforgiveness but we can not forgive them for commiting the sin. The only one who can forgive is God and the sinner must go to God himself. We can not do this for him. prayon |

123 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | prayon | 73096
We do know the purpose of baptism. The baptism of water is symbolic: going into water is dying to sin being under the water is to be buried with Him coming out of water is being resurrected as was Christ. It is a physical act in which we can relate to Christ. prayon |

124 | children of Israel was to do | OT general | prayon | 73095
Greetings Mes, God told the Isrealites to do 3 things as you mentioned: 1) Beware of Him, 2) obey His voice, and 3) do not provoke Him. I want to add that the angel was more than likely the pre-incarnate Christ. Verse 21 also tells us that if we do not obey Him that He would not forgive our transgressions, and it says that "My name is in Him. Only God can forgive sins, so the "Him" has to be a part of God which would leave either Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Since Jesus is our intercessor before God it has to be HIm. No one else could qualify. I hope this answers your question. prayon |

125 | Before or after the return of Christ? | 1 Thess 4:16 | prayon | 72189
David, You can do a search on Tribulation, or 3 1/2 or 7 years and get all views of the tribulation. This topic has been covered many times. If you have any questions after that please feel free to ask. prayon
126 | Does it matter where you go to church ? | NT general Archive 1 | prayon | 72174
This is true. Before one can rely on the Holy Spirit to give direction in your life you have to know the difference between emotional response and the Spirit's response. I guess I answered you the way I did because my spirit prompted me to. It knew that you would know the difference... :o) prayon
127 | Mark 1:14-20 what is it telling me | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 72173
In addition, when you ask a question please be specific on what you are asking. When you are we can get an answer to you much quicker. Also, you can ask as many questions as you want but if they are on different topics please be sure to enter seperately each question. When you do we can be much more thorough on what you are asking. prayon
128 | how were the sisters | Luke 10:42 | prayon | 72142
I agree. I was the same way. Wouldn't it be nice if we could go back and change some of the things we blew? My grandchildren also come first in my life now, (along with my daughter who is the only one left at home now). Wonder if that is why we are such better grandma's than we are mom's? prayon

Greetings Emmaus, Thanks a lot for the info. I wonder why Holman's put the route on the maps of Pauls missionary trips which were done in the 1st century when the Egnatain Route was not built until the 2nd century? prayon
135 | "women keep silent in the churches" | 1 Cor 14:34 | prayon | 65639
Greetings Ronaldo, I agree, all those who are one in Christ are one with each other. It doesn't matter whether one is male or female - we are all one in Christ Jesus. I in no way promote women's lib where God's word is concerned. (I do however support women's lib in equal pay for the same job ect. :o) ) All flesh in Joel 2:28 does indicates all people will receive the Holy Spirit. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is preaching/pastor. This gift can and is given to women. Unfortunetly, many women pastors were not given that gift, but then many men pastors weren't either. prayon |

136 | Did any prophet come from Galilee? | Luke 24:19 | prayon | 65565
Greetings Cyclist, One person thought that Jonah was born in Galilee. Another thought Mohamed the Prophet was since the false prophet (Islam) usually rises up from where the true prophet comes from. I don't know the correct answer. The only thing I could find was that all the disciples were born there except Judas Ischariot. We already turned in our guesses. prayon
137 | tithing | Acts 13:39 | prayon | 65320
Greetings FTimA, Does not all we own belong to God? And if we are not bound by tithing does that mean that God wants us to give when we want to give? Does God not still say that we can have 90 percent but 10 percent belongs to Him? prayon
138 | tithing | Acts 13:39 | prayon | 65219
Greetings, “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them. I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear, even the smallest detail of God’s law will remain until its purpose is achieved. So if you break the smallest commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt 5:17-19 New Living Translation). prayon
