I am sorry for the invasion of what you assume to be your privacy. I read every post that comes to the forum even though I don’t respond to all of them and I thought you might be a brother in Christ that would be well worth getting to know better. I assure you that I won’t trouble you any further in an effort to try and receive you as a member of the greatest family that I have and I am sorry for any inconvenience that I might have caused you in my misjudgment. I always like to give those that are brothers in Christ the benefit of the doubt but I know where I am not wanted. 1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. Thanks anyway, my mistake and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings Yenisarap, Some of us on the forum, namely me, don’t quite understand some things as easy as other may perceive them, with reference to ones literary style. I was really anxious to read something of your personal profile and all I have been able to figure out is what most all of us already understand about the Bible verses listed and nothing of a personal nature about your own endeavors. Could you take a little time and expatiate on yourself and make my life a little easer? Luke 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. I for one can’t see the light that you are trying to let shin fourth in your profile. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Help my confusion if you could please, CDBJ |

126 | Salvation for the Gentiles | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 219662
I suppose you will consider this unethical from you viewpoint as well but the Jews received the same gospel message that was destined for the gentiles. Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Faith, being a transitive verb, must have an object and the object is God’s appointed one which is Jesus Christ Himself. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 53:1-12 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Some people have the same problem today as the did in the days of Isaiah! Isaiah 6:9-10 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. What more is needed? CDBJ |

127 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | CDBJ | 219427
The only thing we know of Jesus Christ comes to us from the Bible. Throughout the New Testament we don’t hear Paul, who was about as Jewish as they come, using such language. In fact he tells us of his hearts desire in the following. Romans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Most would try to separate themselves from the masses of those that are functioning out of lack of knowledge, and as Paul put it, being ignorant of God’s righteousness. He was most disturbed by the “Judaizers” that were trying to influence the Galatians with their message. Paul even had to reprimand Peter in front of everyone since he had believed the gospel message, why would he want to imitate the life style of the Jews, i.e. he was informed to abolish the old Jewish format. Galatians 2:14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? It sound to me like your trying to convince yourself that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s not really a duck but something else? I would rather imitate Paul as he was after his conversion then what he was before his conversion! 1 Tim. 4:12 (B) but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. This is what I’m seeing from my vantage point; have a great day, CDBJ |

128 | Faith a gift? | Eph 2:8 | CDBJ | 219419
Interesting info on Eph. 2:8,9 from the (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 2:8-9. These verses explain “the incomparable riches of His grace” (v. 7), expanding the parenthetical statement in verse 5, It is by grace you have been saved, and adding that the means of this salvation is through faith. Hence the basis is grace and the means is faith alone (cf. Rom. 3:22, 25; Gal. 2:16; 1 Peter 1:5). Faith is not a “work.” It does not merit salvation; it is only the means by which one accepts God’s free salvation. Paul elaborated, And this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Much debate has centered around the demonstrative pronoun “this” (TOUTO). Though some think it refers back to “grace” and others to “faith,” neither of these suggestions is really valid because the demonstrative pronoun is neuter whereas “grace” and “faith” are feminine. Also, to refer back to either of these words specifically seems to be redundant. Rather the neuter TOUTO, as is common, refers to the preceding phrase or clause. (In Eph. 1:15 and 3:1 TOUTO, “this,” refers back to the preceding section.) Thus it refers back to the concept of salvation (2:4-8a), whose basis is grace and means is faith. This salvation does not have its source in man (it is “not from yourselves”), but rather, its source is God’s grace for “it is the gift of God.” Verse 9 reinforces this by showing that the means is not by works since its basis is grace (Rom. 3:20, 28; 4:1-5; 11:6; Gal. 2:16; 2 Tim. 1:9; Titus 3:5), and its means is faith (Rom. 4:5). Therefore since no person can bring salvation to himself by his own efforts, no one can boast (cf. Rom. 3:27; 1 Cor. 1:29). Their boasting can only be in the Lord (1 Cor. 1:31). This opened my eyes, CDBJ |

129 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | CDBJ | 219394
Isn’t it true that Abraham was a gentile before he became a Jew? God knew how he was going to “save the gentiles” and as a result He preached that message to Abraham while he was still a gentile, before he became a Hebrew or a Jew. Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles "by faith", preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE NATIONS SHALL BE BLESSED IN YOU." Abraham responded by believing what God told him and as a result it was credited to him for righteousness before he was a Jew. Romans 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." CDBJ |

130 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | CDBJ | 219387
Speaking specifically of the word “Christian”, it didn’t even come on scene until found in the book of Acts. Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Notice though that it was the “Jewish disciples” that were called Christians first. All true Jews that fall under the promise given to Abraham are within the realm of being Messianic Jews or they couldn’t even inherit the promise. Here is a good example of some that believed in the Messiah but since they didn’t believe that Jesus was God’s appointed one or the Messiah they now don’t receive the benefit from what they formally believed. John 15:22-24 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. (Because Jesus is the Messiah and they didn’t believe in Him!) 23He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, (proving that He is in fact the true Messiah) they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. Sad but true, CDBJ |

131 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219353
Hi lionheart, The word faith as found in James Chapter 2 is used 11 times and in every case it is used as a noun in the following forms; Pistin, Pistei, Pistis, and Pisteos, most of which are Pistis. The verb form as found in, Acts 16:31 translated believe is from the Verb form of Pisteuson which is the proper form from Pisteuo. It’s in the (imperative mood) or the mood of command, in the (aorist tense), i.e. in a point of time divorced from time and perpetuated forever. It’s in the (active voice), which implies that the subject produces the action of the verb, this is done in the (second person singular), i.e. each one has to produce the action for it to be beneficial for personal salvation and the object must be Jesus Christ the Son of God! Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with your entire household." I hope this helps, CDBJ |

132 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219349
Greetings lionheart, Since we find 15 accounts of the word faith being used in James it might help if you could give me an idea of the particular verse that you had in mind and I will try and break it down for you. A prime example would be the use found in the Jas. 1:3. Here the word in the Koine is actually the noun PISTEOS used in the genitive case; the case of origin, feminine gender, and singular, so you see here it isn’t even used as a verb. Give me the verses in question and I will try to help, CDBJ |

It seems as though you are taking a defensive position for some reason. Where in my previous post “did I” say that you didn’t have the Son? The only thing that you confused me with was the sorrow ploy which I can’t find in Scripture. Boiling down salvation, to its simplest form, is found in the most popular verse in the Bible. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The problem comes from what the Koine Greek word of the New testament, believe, actually means. pisteuo, Greek 4100, Strong’s pisteuo, pist-yoo'-o; from Greek 4102 (pistis); to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ) believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with. Faith or believe are transitive verbs, there is no merit in faith; it’s the object of the verb that gets all of the credit, not the fact of faith. The total merit in God’s plan is the person of His unique Son, Jesus the Christ. If one places all of his hope for eternal life in who and what Jesus did God gives eternal life as a free gift. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin. Repentance isn’t sorrow as many would have one believe but it comes to us from the word “METANOEO”, meta to change and noeo for mind, i.e. have a change of mind about the person of Christ. Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Couple that with the following. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. These aren’t my ideas, its God’s Word. Have a great day, CDBJ |

134 | Unforgiveable sin. | Luke 12:10 | CDBJ | 219332
I find it interesting that you had to use 71 words to convey what could have been said in less then ten. Pray tell, what does sorrow have to do with anything: Scripture please. Do you actually think that God the Father is impressed with your sorrow or is He impressed with what Jesus did for your sin problem? Proverbs 14:12 There is a way "which seemeth right" unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. 1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. How can you be sure that you have the Son? CDBJ |

Dear T.A.J. From the knowledge that you have acquired over the years, can you confidently answer the following? 136 | Gos Can Speak! | 1 Cor 12:3 | CDBJ | 219289
Hi John, Very interesting post but it appears that even the apostle Paul came to his wits end with the Corinthians according to Chapter 14 in 1 Cor. I think he finally realized that he was beating his head against a brick wall and that the Corinthian were going to be lead by their emotions instead of knowledge of Bible doctrine no matter what. 1 Cor. 14:36-38 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. One can only try for so long to point out truth, CDBJ |

139 | What is the Gift of God in Ephes, 2:8,9 | 1 Cor 12:9 | CDBJ | 219201
Hi John, The faith, that I suppose, you are referring to is found in, 1 Cor. 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; It is logical to assume that the “faith” spoken of here is a reference to a different faith then that spoken of by Paul in Ephes. 2:8 since the faith given as a gift, it not given to all but to some, or as Paul says it, to another. The gifts given in I Cor. 12 are disseminated by the Holy Spirit to those who have “already” come under the category of believer or sons, i.e. they have already exercised “saving faith” in Christ or they couldn’t receive the special gifts enumerated by Paul in I Cor. 12.
