121 | Is it bibical for a church to require? | John 8:7 | justme | 224296
dka: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! I can give good biblical reasons for asking forgiveness. The Church has a biblical responsibility to discipline by removing ones name from membership, until repentance takes place. If there is no discipline, with the goal to bring the person or persons back to the fellowship of believers, then that would allow for immorality to have the churches approval. Hebrews 13:4. The biblical example of 1Corinthians 5. Look close at 1Corinthians 5:9. 1Corinthians 6:12-20. Sexual immorality is not the only reason for didcipline, there is a list of other reasons as well. Asking a fallen member to seek the frogiveness of the church should be a very healing experience for all concerned. Remember this does not effect just the female, but those who have a vested interest in her spiritual life. Think how others who knew she has fallen, might consider if she can do this so can they. I have see this very circunstance happen in a church where I was pastor. I saw and know the heartache of both sides. Without confessing and forgiveness the healing is incomplete. I encourage you to tell the femele to trust the Lord to heal the situation. I hope this allows you to see why it is biblical for this to happen. Blessings. justme |

122 | how do you explain to someone that does | 2 Cor 4:6 | justme | 224285
ddhome: Beja and Lionheart have given excellent responses. I would add just a little more, if I may. Be a witness for Christ so those who do not believe may see Christ in you and ask why you are different. Share what Christ has done in your life, and pray for those you have a burden for. Perhaps most important is don't assume to do the Holy Spirits work. The Holy Spirit convicts, and tugs at the soul of man. If someone rejects the pulling of the Holy Spirit and rejects the Holy Spirit pleading to surrender to Jesus Christ, then that becomes the unforgiveble sin when they die. Sharring Christ is our responsibility, the conviction of sin and pleading is the work of the Holy Spirit. The rest is up to the person. I hope this helps. justme |

123 | Disobey Elders? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 224240
gphilipp00: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. You have asled a wide question. A quick answer is it all depends. But to narrow my response, what are you thinking the elders are in error about? Matthew 18:15-19 Jesus tells us how to confront someone you think is in error. Be wise that Scripture tells us to be careful in correcting a elder. Go with humility and love. Blessings justme |

124 | Why are there conflicting answers? | Hab 3:19 | justme | 224238
JPatt: Your are correct it does depend on nondenominational and denominational beliefs. The very fundamentalist nondenominationist churches, generally speaking, do not allow women to partiscipate in worshp services. Some of these fundamentialist churches do not even allow a woman to teach in Sunday School. However, generally speaking, women are allowed to work in the nursery with infants, babies, and toddlers. Perhaps, once they are potty trained the men take over the responsibality of Bible teaching. My personal beliefe in wonem in the churchnot in agreement with the information above. I believe women in church ministry is biblical. I agree in the Ordination of women for certian ministryal postitions. Again this is a denominational position that I was Ordained with and pastored in. Blessings. justme |

125 | women as song leaders | Hab 3:19 | justme | 224230
Mitch: I know of no Scriptual reason NOT to have a Christian female as a song leader. But that is again left up to each church. Personally, women are far more talented than just as a care giver for infants and childre, Why do you ask? justme |

126 | Should I leave, or stay? | 1 Pet 2:1 | justme | 224141
P.in T. First and foremost, if your husband is a habitual drinker than he is no doubt an alchololic and needs a healthy wake-up call as to how his behavior is hurting himself, you and any family he has. The drinking problem is not easily resolved but a life-long self-destructive way of dealing with life issues. Confronting him directly at this time may not be able to be done by yourself. Perhaps your Pastor could help you in talking with him? Confronting him with love and compassion about his drinking and violence may not only save your marriage but also his life and yours. If you fear for your saftey you need to leave. Scripture says we are to obey the laws of the land in which we live. If you are being abused and fear for your well being, leave. Your husband's problems need to be addressed openly for any change to occur. You have the healthy and rightful expectation to be free from abuse. This is not to say you should divorce your husband. Unless he is willing to change, he is forcing you to seek distance for your own safety. By giving your husband consequences for unexceptable conduct, you will give him notice that you have standards that he must achieve, or he will remain alone, without you. Should your husband hit you, call the authorities and have him removed from you home. Jail has a way of getting the attention of a person, and allowing him time to think things over. May I suggest you read Ephesians 5. Your husband is to love you as Christ does the Church. To submit to your husband does not mean for you to be a door matt, or to be the dog to kick. Read Ephesians 6:10-18. You are standing against the "evil-one". I encourage you to involve your pastor and see if there could be some assistance in counseling, and some place to stay if it becomes where you need to get a safe place to stay. Everything I suggest is with the hope your husband will surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray and bathe yourself in the Holy Word of God. Remember with God all things are possible. Be willing to forgive, but beware of him trying to win you back with words only. Be strong in the Lord. Blessings. justme |

128 | Jesus doesn't answer me | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 224100
Mamametal: Reading between the lines of your question, I think I hear you say a few things of importance. I think you may be in a church that says unless you speak in a language given by the Holy Spirit you have reason to doubt your salvation. Am I right? You have given a lot of time to trying to hear God speak to you and have not really heard Him. Is this correct? I am risking that what I think you are saying to give some advice. God speaks to us most often by reading HIS WORD. The Holy Spirit uses the Bible to answer prayer, and direct our path, give us correction, peace, and courage just to name a very few areas. In HIS WORD He answers our prayers, most of the time. In over sixty-five years, I can count on both hands the times I have heard the silent voice of God speaking to me. His voice is silent, but there is no doubt when He has spoken. I can tell you when such times I did hear Him there was no doubt. Once the LORD spoke to me and He gave me a very stern warning. Latter the person I was warned about, I went to and told them what the Lord said to me. That person said they had prayed the very words, God had spoke to me. That was a life changing moment, I can't go into. I can not stress enough how important being consistantly in reading the Scripture is. I pray and know this will help you. Blessings. justme |

129 | Explain the Trinity | Gen 1:1 | justme | 223963
skeppel: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! The actual truth is, "we walk by Faith, not sight". There is really no correct way to explain the Trinity. The God head is made in such a way that as we try and explain where God came from. The faith we have to trust in The Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, is required just as well. There are all kinds of poor ideas in attempting to explain the Trinity just do not do even come close. The Trinity Is NOT like an egg or water, ice and steam, NOTHING but faith in what YAHWEH has said is adaquite, or come close. I sincerely wish it was as simple explaining in plain language. We walk by faith, and faith is not easy. Blessings. justme |

130 | Women being submissive? | 1 Cor 14:34 | justme | 223896
stephanieleigh426: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! In the days Paul said this wome had little schooling if anything beyond what they were taught by their mother or father. Women were "things" that belong to the husbands. With little knowledge and with constant questioning this was disruptive of the preaching. Thus Pauls advice. Morant61 has given good advice. But do not be quiet when there is a proper time to do so. Blessings. justme |

131 | do you belive in woman minister | 1 Tim 2:1 | justme | 223809
gomo25L Like Beja has said your question is incomplete. Just for an examplw, we all, women and men are to be ministers of Jesus Christ in our everyday traffic pattern of life. Pehhaps, you might give some time to explore you own thoughts and restate your question if these two answers are inadquite. Blesings. justme |

132 | ministering to the opposite sex? | NT general | justme | 223808
Dritchie: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Your thinking has reason for everone involved in ministry either professionally or as a lay person needs to give serious thought to. Many have shamed the name of Jesus, because the fell to sexual temptation. I can think of one verse that covers everything relation to temptation Hebrews 13:4.We are to be pure at all costs, is how I understand Scripture. My view piont is men should minister to men and women to women. Unless it is in an church function where others are there. Per haps some might think my view is old and out of date, but it works and the Lord is honnored. Blessings and again Welcome to the forum. justme |

133 | kids salvation | Num 14:29 | justme | 223641
cook13: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Scripture does not give a specfic age, say like 13. So if that's the certian age you are looking for it is not something we can say is the same for everyone. my belief is when a person becomes able to understand who Christ was, and why Jesus needed to die for our sins, and that this person is a sinner by choice is the age. Ultimately Yahweh is who is able to judge what that is for each person. I most assuredly can not speak for the Lord, but brain damaged persons who function with little cognative developement would be under the wings of salvation. I believe Scripture in Romans 1 teaches awareness has is part of accountability you are seeking to find. Most assuredly I believe the Mercy of the LORD extends to those children who are unable to comprehend the Good News of Jesus Christ. Enjoy the Forum, perhaps this will guide you in you study. 134 | DEATH | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 223436
May I suggest you read Psalm 139. When life seems like we are useless or there seems no reason to be here on earth, this passage is just for YOU. The Lord has a plan for us all. Might I suggest contacting the church you are in volved in and ask who you can pray for? Or how about sending emails to those who are lonely as you are. There is a reason the Lord has not called you home yet, and our Lord knows the place for you to be, you need to make a big effort to stay tuned to the Lord. To end you life is taking the Lords will for your life away from Him. Walking by faith at any age is a struggle, however as we age the walk takes a steadfast spirit to be in the Word of God and depending on Christ Jesus for direction. May you remember you are not alone, the Holy Spirit is living within you. Bless you. justme |

135 | Pastor giving a wrong info | Luke 6:37 | justme | 223258
00123: Others have given wise Biblical advice, and I can offer none better. My concern is why have others in the church not become as alert and concerned as you? This may mean perhaps you are in a new age church? I am amazed and shocked that some Elder, Deacon, or faithful Bible reading Christian has not picked up on what you have keyed in on. Your alertness is an encouragement for all Christians to be so bound to the WORD (Bible) that false teaching stands out like a "Arkansas Green Thumb". Blessings to you 00123. justme |

Great question, one in which I have give much thought to over a number of years. There is no reason that you can not have the Lord's supper with a husband and wife or a family, or a youth group. As long as everyone is a christian. Blessings. justme |

140 | soul in Heaven or Hell? | Judges | justme | 221851
Hebrews 9:27 Plainly states that after death comes judgement. The word "Rapture" is often understood from the Dispensational Premillennialism understanding of Scripture. There three other viewpoints to the end times besides what it apears your sister may believe in. I believe Scripture teaches that those who die without Christ Jesus are in Hades until the Great White Throne Judgement, and then cast into eterinal punishment forever and ever. Those who die in Christ are in Paridise, with the Lord, until The Lord Jesus returns with His Angels and those who are in Paradise. Blessings. justme |
