121 | History on Hannah | 1 Sam 1:1 | jlpangilinan | 112515
Hannah favour, grace, one of the wives of Elkanah the Levite, and the mother of Samuel (1Sa 1:2). Her home was at Ramathaim-zophim, whence she was wont every year to go to Shiloh, where the tabernacle had been pitched by Joshua, to attend the offering of sacrifices there according to the law (Ex 23:15; 34:18; De 16:16), probably at the feast of the Passover (comp. Ex 13:10). On occasion of one of these "yearly" visits, being grieved by reason of Peninnah's conduct toward her, she went forth alone, and kneeling before the Lord at the sanctuary she prayed inaudibly. Eli the high priest, who sat at the entrance to the holy place, observed her, and misunderstanding her character he harshly condemned her conduct (1Sa 1:14-16). After hearing her explanation he retracted his injurious charge and said to her, "Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition." Perhaps the story of the wife of Manoah was not unknown to her. Thereafter Elkanah and his family retired to their quiet home, and there, before another Passover, Hannah gave birth to a son, whom, in grateful memory of the Lord's goodness, she called Samuel, i.e., "heard of God." After the child was weaned (probably in his third year) she brought him to Shiloh into the house of the Lord, and said to Eli the aged priest, "Oh my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord. For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: therefore I also have granted him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he is granted to the Lord" (1Sa 1:27-28, R.V.). Her gladness of heart then found vent in that remarkable prophetic song (1Sa 2:1-10; comp. Lu 1:46-55) which contains the first designation of the Messiah under that name (1Sa 2:10, "Annointed" "Messiah"). And so Samuel and his parents parted. He was left at Shiloh to minister "before the Lord." And each year, when they came up to Shiloh, Hannah brought to her absent child "a little coat" (Heb meil, a term used to denote the "robe" of the ephod worn by the high priest, Ex 28:31), a priestly robe, a long upper tunic (1Ch 15:27), in which to minister in the tabernacle (1Sa 2:19; 15:27 Job 2:12). "And the child Samuel grew before the Lord." After Samuel, Hannah had three sons and two daughters. EASTON BIBLE DICTIONARY ENTRY God bless, |

123 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | jlpangilinan | 112324
Quote "I do not believe in the trinity doctrine. I believe in Jesus only.end of quote. Are you saying that you do not believed that there is Father and the Holy Spirit? Maybe we can discussed it a littele bit. I will quote verses here to prove the exeistence of the Father different fro Jesus Christ, you could argue it if you want. Joh 14:28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. Christ admit that the Father is greater that Him who is this "Father" anyway? When Christ is about to die on the cross he cried out saying this: Mt 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why Jesus Christ said My God, My God if there is no other Person existed as God aside from Him. If your logic is true that only Jesus Christ He must pray or cried for Himself, it will look like this "I am God I am God, why hast I forsaken me. Please explain. God bless, |

126 | How many types of Christian's? | Acts 11:26 | jlpangilinan | 105909
Christian has only one "type" a true Christian a followers of Christ. Christian the name given by the Greeks or Romans, probably in reproach, to the followers of Jesus. It was first used at Antioch. The names by which the disciples were known among themselves were "brethren," "the faithful," "elect," "saints," "believers." But as distinguishing them from the multitude without, the name "Christian" came into use, and was universally accepted. This name occurs but three times in the New Testament (Ac 11:26; 26:28; 1Pe 4:16). You list is unbiblical, christian means a follower by Christ, if a person belong to a christian denomination is wicked, he is not a christian. Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. God bless, |

127 | In which year did the prophet Samuel die | 2 Kin 21:18 | jlpangilinan | 103315
"little is known of him till the time of his death, " The remainder of his life he spent in retirement at Ramah, only occasionally and in special circumstances appearing again in public (1Sa 13:1-23,15) with communications from God to king Saul. While mourning over the many evils which now fell upon the nation, he is suddenly summoned (ch.16) to go to Bethlehem and anoint David, the son of Jesse, as king over Israel instead of Saul. After this little is known of him till the time of his death, which took place at Ramah when he was probably about eighty years of age. "And all Israel gathered themselves together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah" (1Sa 25:1), not in the house itself, but in the court or garden of his house. 128 | Matt 7:1-2 ESV | Matt 7:4 | jlpangilinan | 103016
I am talking of a rigteous judgement, that before we judge make sure we are doing right in our lives and not as a hypocryte. If my brother and sister falls into drugs I will bring them to rehab to make sure somebody will take care of them. If they dont I will bring to the prison. 1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1Co 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. If I am a drug addict before, is that what you mean? If I am a drug addict before but now as a renewed person, I will not condem those people, what I said is I will bring them to rehab to remove the drugs from thier body, if they dont then I will bring them to prison they can maybe kill or get killed if I allow them to continue using drugs. 129 | Matt 7:1-2 ESV | Matt 7:4 | jlpangilinan | 102903
Christ in that verse that you quoted tried to explain to us not to be hypocryte by judging people but not looking in ourselves: Mt 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? We can judge, specially if the reason is to correct them and bring them back to right path: Joh 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. But how we can do a righteous judgement? Mt 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? God bless, |

130 | is tithing for the NT Gentile | Acts 13:39 | jlpangilinan | 102901
You are correct, it is an old testament concept. Tithes is very part of the law. Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. It cannot justifed us. So why keep doing the things that cannot justify you. There is mistake of giving, make sure there is no one requireing you but you give out of love. No percentage if you can give more because you love God it is acceptable for Him. Aside from that Christ taught us to be consistent: Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. If you do part of the law you must observe all of it otherwise Christ will call us hypocryte. So what is it imply? i we observe the tithes which part of the law we must observe stoning our bretren if we caught them gathering stick in the day of sabbath. Nu 15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. Nu 15:35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. God bless, |

131 | Did OT saints go to heaven? | Rev 20:13 | jlpangilinan | 102763
Question 1. Where did the OT saints go when they died? No: Ec 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. 2. Who will be at the Millenium - all the saints or just those who go through the tribulation? Re 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 3.When sinners die now, do they go straight to hell? No:Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Re 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. God bless, |

132 | When ever you want to | Ex 21:10 | jlpangilinan | 102753
it is not a common custom to have sex out of marriage or having more than one wives anyone in OT. it is the heart of the people hard and always wanting to do that. For example God prohibit even to eat the fruit of forbidden tree but it happened. God even in OT want God the person to have only one wife: Ge 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. "and shall cleave unto his wife" not unto his wives "and they shall be one flesh" the two shall be one flesh, and four wives will be "one flesh" David was punished because of his immoral relationship with bathseba, his son was died and even david ready to accept if the Lord will take his life. It means it is not really a common to have immoral life. 2Sa 12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. God forgive david when he repent. Christ said that having more than one wives is not a custom even in OT: Mt 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? Mt 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Will see that because of the "hardness of thier heart" moses done a writing of law in divorcement. But in the beginning it was not so. Why it is because it so serious of NT? because it is the law of Christ, and Christ want us to leave in Holiness. 1Th 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. As He said He made a new covenant for us not according to thier fathers: Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. I am not saying the Bible say that, all of them then the judgement! Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Re 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. It said there that everyone will stand before God and they were judge "every man" meaning all people good or bad including you and me. Re 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. If we are not found there, we will be cast out in the lake of fire. Re 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. God bless, |

135 | PROVE ME: God's challenge to tithers | Bible general Archive 2 | jlpangilinan | 102472
Tithes is commanded to israelites not for the Christian. De 5:2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. De 5:3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day. It is given specific for them! if there fathers is not included in that covenant, it is likely not for you. Tithes is included in the law, according to paul it cannot justify us: Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Christ and the apostle did not observed this, infact there is no record even an single action that the apostle take the tithes of thier members and given it to Christ. Giving is not by percentage, any purposes of the heart: 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. If Giving ten percent is purposeth of your heart and not a requirement it is acceptable to God. But if someone asked you to give that or you are the one requiring your member to gave that it is against to the teaching of Christ. God bless, |

136 | Why did Adam grow old? | Gen 1:27 | jlpangilinan | 100957
He will not grown old if he did not eat the forbidden fruit. He will live forever if He did not fell. God created adam in His own images and likeness. Ge 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. The sickness and death only came in after the fell. Ge 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Ge 3:16 ¶ Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 16. Easton Torrey Ge 3:17 ¶ And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; After the fell of man the sickness and death comes in this is the reason why God drove them away from eden because if they eat the tree of life they will leave forever. God knew that if they leave forever with sickness it is very hard. Imagine if you have cancer and live for eternity Ge 3:22 ¶ And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: God bless, |

Christ talk it in general, it includes His biological brother and sisters: Mt 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? It includes all christians or follower of Christ (4.) A disciple or follower (Mt 25:40; Heb 2:11-12). (5.) One of the same faith (Am 1:9; Ac 9:30; 11:29; 1Co 5:11); whence the early disciples of our Lord were known to each other as brethren. (6.) A colleague in office (Ezr 3:2; 1Co 1:1; 2Co 1:1). (7.) A fellow-man (Ge 9:5; 19:7; Mt 5:22-23,24; 7:5; Heb 2:17). (8.) One beloved or closely united with another in affection (2Sa 1:26; Ac 6:3; 1Th 5:1). Brethren of Jesus (Mt 1:25; 12:46,50; Mr 3:31-32; Ga 1:19; 1Co 9:5, etc.) were probably the younger children of Joseph and Mary. Some have supposed that they may have been the children of Joseph by a former marriage, and others that they were the children of Mary, the Virgin's sister, and wife of Cleophas. The first interpretation, however, is the most natural. God bless, |
