123 | Languages with no Scripture? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 71038
Justme, Greetings and Peace from The Father and His Son Jesus. I happen to have this in my notes. These statistics are from 2001. Let’s look at how many languages there are today out of the 6 billion plus people in the world. We read, "There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today. However, about 2,000 of those languages have fewer than 1,000 speakers." ---- infoplease.com The following numbers are also impressive, but how many of these translations have the proper Names of the Father and the Son in them? "At the start of the nineteenth century, Scriptures were available in just 68 languages. Today, Scriptures are available in no less than 2,233 languages, with the complete Bible having been translated into at least 371 languages, and the New Testament into some 960. In addition, parts of the Bible (Portions) have been made available in more than 900 languages."---- biblesociety.org God bless you into the New Year! "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we [first] believed." Romans 13:11 |

125 | What does it mean to "love" God? | Mark 12:28 | inmyheart | 70761
Greetings, God tells us in the First Commandment we are to "...love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." ( Matthew 22:37) What specifically does this mean? I believe loving God (agapao) includes three specific things: 1) To choose continually to obey God's Word (His Will) and not our own thoughts and emotions that are usually prompting us to go the opposite direction. 2) To choose continually to trust God's Power (His Ability) to perform His Will in our lives and not our own natural ability. 3) And lastly, to love God means to choose continually to worship and serve Him only, by following, cleaving and so binding ourselves with Him that we become one. (We "exchange lives" with Him. We give Him ours; He, then, gives us His.) God bless |

126 | Is God really a restorer of things ? | 1 John 1:9 | inmyheart | 70737
Greetings, "I may lose my wife and family beause of it, I did not intentionally do this, I just used bad judgement. The girl was 17 and I am 55. There are human reasons, but a sin is a sin". Yes, you may lose your wife and family, and yes, you did do this intentionally, and no, you used no judgement whatsoever. And considering your ages, you could be charged legally! However, I'm not here to beat you up, but we have an adversary, the devil, who will destroy you and attack you at your most weakest areas of your life. The Word of God says, Mat 10:39 "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.(NASB) My friend, God is a God of a second chance, but you need to be willing to surrender ALL areas of your life to Him, so God can restore you. The written Word also states "Rom 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (NASB) God does not condem you, nor does He condon your actions. God has a purpose and a plan for your life, and He wants to fulfill it, your first duty is to repent to God then your wife. God has called us to live in Peace. Seek council from your pastor or those whom you are accountable to. God loves you, so do I and I'll be in agreement with you in prayer. No matter what the outcome may be, you'll be right with God, and if God be for you, who can be against you! God bless |

128 | AM I MARRIED IN GODS EYES ? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 70686
(con't) But this is not the whole story. "The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy . . . For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust" (Psalm 103:8, 14). "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins" (I John 1:9). This promise is specifically for Christians, and includes even the sin of adultery, if there is genuine repentance. The Lord made this very clear in His dealing with the woman who "was taken in adultery, in the very act" (John 8:4). He reminded her accusers that they also were sinners and had no warrant to punish her. Then He told the woman: "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). He in no way condoned her sin, but He did forgive her sin, when she gave evidence of godly sorrow and determination not to sin again in this way. Under such conditions, His followers would do well to follow His example. At least in this particular context, He put no further conditions on her freedom, either to return to her husband if he would have her, or to marry another if she were already divorced. There is one other important Biblical factor to consider in divorce-and-remarriage situations. A Christian should never marry a non-Christian, as this almost inevitably leads to serious friction in the home later on unless the unsaved partner can, by God's grace, be won to Christ. "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers" (II Corinthians 6:14). Nevertheless, many Christians insist on doing this very thing. And then what? Also, a person may become a believer after marriage, with the partner still unsaved. In either case, there is an unequal yoke, and the Christian husband or wife may come to desire release from this yoke. The Apostle Paul commands in this case: "...If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him." (I Corinthians 7:12, 13). The next verse indicates this is especially important for the sake of the children, who are often the ones hurt most by a divorce. But suppose the unsaved spouse is the one who insists on a divorce. "If the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace" (I Corinthians 7:15). This obviously means that the Christian husband or wife is then at liberty to remarry. In fact, if there are children involved, and if a caring Christian spouse can be found, it would be good to remarry, for children need the love and guidance of both a father and mother, provided, of course, that the stepmother or stepfather is "in the Lord" (I Corinthians 7:39) and desires to assume such a responsibility. By extension, these principles could be applied to other situations that the Scriptures do not cover explicitly. As noted above, God is able and willing to forgive all sins, including even the sin of getting a divorce for trivial reasons. He has called us to peace, not legal bondage, and He can make a good marriage and a happy home no matter what the previous history of the people involved may have been, provided that true repentance, proper restitution, and genuine saving faith and sincere desire to serve the Lord now exist in their lives. God bless |

129 | AM I MARRIED IN GODS EYES ? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 70685
JONZSAVED, Here is a article on this subject from my notes on marriage. It answeres your question in detail. First of all, the divine standard for marriage is lifelong commitment to one's spouse, and nothing else. Even though divorce was permitted in some cases under the Old Testament economy, Christ made it plain that this was not God's ideal. When He was asked this very question, "He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:4-6). This seems very comprehensive and conclusive, yet He immediately followed up this statement with the following apparent exception: "Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery" (Matthew 19:9; see also Matthew 5:31, 32). It does seem from this statement that the discovery of extramarital unchastity on the part of one' spouse is here given as a possible grounds for divorce. God does place a high value on faithfulness, on the part of both bride and bridegroom, as a basis for a happy and lasting marriage. Fornication is condemned as a sin in both Old and New Testaments. In this day of widespread sexual license, however, this provision might well become a rather common ground for divorce, even among Christians. It does, indeed, dilute the principle of "one flesh" used by God to describe a true marriage. "What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, saith He, shall be one flesh . . . Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body: but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body" (I Corinthians 6:16, 18). This passage, incidentally, suggests that a woman who submits to extramarital sex becomes, in God's sight, a harlot, whether she yields her body for money or some other reason that she sees as profitable to herself. On the other hand, it is noteworthy that Jesus, evidently on a different occasion, did not give fornication as an excuse for divorce. "Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery" (Luke 16:18). If there is any doubt, this also applies to wives. "And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery" (Mark 10:12). Since the lord would not contradict Himself, we should conclude that, while there may be some situations in which extramarital sex would create such problems in a marriage that divorce would be better than continuing in an unhealthy or even dangerous relationship, in general it would be better to forgive earlier indiscretions (if accompanied by repentance and present faithfulness) rather than to break up what might otherwise still be a good marriage. In both cases, however, Christ warned that remarriage after divorce amounts to adultery, a sin which is explicitly forbidden by God's seventh Commandment. Both divorce and remarriage, therefore, are extremely serious steps, and both violate the divine principle of permanent union and faithfulness in marriage. (con't.) |

130 | Is the request of Christ Granted? | NT general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 70620
Johnny, Jesus condemned him. Jesus, who fulfilled the role of Prophet, as well as Priest, King, and Savior, was the herald of God, pronouncing curses and blessings as the Old Testament prophets did. He would say, "Blessed are..." for the Beatitudes and later curse the Impenitent Cities saying, "Woe to..." (see Matt. 5:3-11; 11:20-24; and Luke 6:20-26.) He answered them and said, "He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born." Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, "Rabbi, is it I?" He said to him, "You have said it."- Matt. 26:23-25 Would God say, "It would have been good...if he had not been born," about one who would be destined for heaven? Certainly not! Jesus didn't acknowledge him to God. The events that happened at Gethsemane offer a prime example of God's honor; He lives up to His Word. Matt. 10:32, 33 - Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Judas not only denied Jesus by refusing His authority as a Rabbi and attempting to rob His liberty (both by the act of betrayal), he rejected Christ's deity. In turn Jesus rejected Judas in His prayers to His Father, calling him the son of perdition, which means damnation. John 17:12 - Those whom you gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Judas was condemned. His repentance was not true to God; he denied the Lord Jesus Christ; he hung himself and fulfilled Scriptural prophecy. The LORD has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom. Proverbs 16:4 |

131 | what does john 14:7 talk about | John | inmyheart | 70612
firstladyminister, John 14:7-11 - Show Us The Father. The point that Jesus is making here is that He has completely and perfectly represented Father God to them. No one can look the Father in the face. Remember, Moses made a similar request of God, saying, Exod.33:18 ..."I pray Thee, show me Thy glory!" But God's response to Moses was, Exod. 33:20 ..."You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" Philip wants to see the Father. But Jesus says, "Philip, I've perfectly represented Him to you. He's in Me, and I'm in Him. I speak what He tells Me to, I do what He tells Me to. So, although you'd die instantly if you saw the Father's face, you have already seen the Father through My words and My works." So many people want to see God. And they know they can't look up at the sky and catch a glimpse of Him. So they turn to the church and say, "Show us the Father." What does the church show them? If they show them the words and the works of God, they show them the Father. But all too many are shown gossip. Judgement. Hatred. Backbiting. Immorality. And many people have decided that Christians cannot show them the Father. And so they turn elsewhere. Paul said to the Jews that were living hypocritically, Rom. 2:22-24 You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God? For "THE NAME OF GOD IS BLASPHEMED AMONG THE GENTILES BECAUSE OF YOU,"... Let's take a look at ourselves. Every week, people come to us, hoping that we'll show them the Father. Let's be sure to show them the words of God, and the work of God, that they will not turn away from God. (Notes from a sermon at church) God bless |

133 | is this vs. literal? | Deut 22:5 | inmyheart | 70495
rapture, Deuteronomy 22:5 (NIV) A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. Jesus Christ created man and woman to be distinctly different. Satan has been very successful in minimizing the differences. In the early 20th century, short hair on a woman was considered a sign of rebellion. In the 1970's, long hair on a man was considered a sign of rebellion. Society has now accepted this blurring of the sexes, but the rebellious message is as clear as it was when the Holy Spirit through Paul discussed it 2,000 years ago. 1 Corinthians 11:3-16 (NIV) Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is just as though her head were shaved. 6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head. 11 In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice--nor do the churches of God. Every directive from God is important. Violation of this directive has aided in the confusion of society. The Word of God is very clear. In addition to God's directive on the length of hair for men and women, there are other spiritual forces pressuring the way people dress. It is amazing how mankind does things with Biblical roots and does not understand why. Natural man is motivated by spiritual forces of which he is unaware. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. God bless, see you (in the) rapture :) |

JA03, Exodus 20: 2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 "You shall have no other gods before [1] me. 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand (generations) of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. 8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. 12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. 13 "You shall not murder. 14 "You shall not commit adultery. 15 "You shall not steal. 16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." Are these the standards that you are speaking of? The Bible clearly directs us to go to those we feel may have something against us (Matthew 5:23). He also tells us in Hebrews 12:14 to, "Pursue peace with all people..." Possibly those with whom you are concerned did not realize you were feeling persecuted, we are instructed to "bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse" (Romans 12:14). It is a miracle of God when our wounded hearts are healed so that we can truly walk in forgiveness and wholeness before those who have hurt us. God is our defender (Job 22:25; Psalm 7:10; 59:9, 16, 17; 62:2, 6; 94:22). He will bring the truth to light. The Bible is very clear that if we have "ought" against someone (Matthew 6:14, 15, Mark 11:25; Luke 6:37) or if you know your brother has "ought" against you (Matthew 5:23, 24), you are instructed to go to him. Galatians 6:10 says, "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." These may sound like difficult words, but they are definitely instructions the Lord has given each of us to live by. God bless, I pray that this answeres your question! |

138 | How were Moses in-laws affected? | Ruth | inmyheart | 70362
bramblewood_gal, There is much to ponder on, in regards to your questions I attempted to answer you only in part. Please excuse any overlooked referrences. The Torah depicts Moses' father-in-law, Jethro, as a sort of ancient man for all seasons. Yitro was both a shepherd and a Midianite priest by profession. He was a hospitable man--Yitro offered Moses refuge after his flight from Egypt. Later, Yitro became a trusted counselor to Moses following the exodus from Egypt. And, in one of the great anomalies in the entire Jewish tradition, the Ten Commandments are included in parashat Yitro, named after this Midianite priest. Moses and Jethro enjoyed an unusually close relationship. Yitro cared for Moshe's wife and children while he was "away on business." Yitro taught Moshe how to become a better leader and manager. And perhaps Jethro's practical wisdom was the essential prerequisite for matan Torah, the revelation of Torah at Sinai. The Bible isn’t specific about the form and administration of "Godly" government. For those who believe that "Jethro’s" advice to Moses in Ex. 18:21-24 is the "Godly" form: a pyramid of "rulers of 1000’s, 100’s, 50’s and 10’s; please note in just a few short years it failed miserably! Moses states; "I’m not able to bear it!" (Num 11:11-15) , whereas Jethro said " If you do this... you will be able to bear it" (Ex 18:23). Notice why it failed: "...and God so commands you..." Moses never asked God! He simply "heeded the voice of his father in law." Also note God’s solution: "Gather [not appoint] to me 70 elders [already known to be such] and I will take of the spirit upon you and I will put the same upon them" (Num.11:16-17). This is the all-important factor of God’s Holy Spirit guiding his leaders: it’s what makes "Godly " government work! Read of Moses and his sons in Chronicles 23:13 and on. May God bless your entire day! |

139 | How do you "guard your anointing"? | Bible general Archive 1 | inmyheart | 70292
You have the anointing of God flowing through you when God's heart touches another person's heart through your heart. The anointing of God is the Holy Spirit. He flows as a river of love, from the throne of grace, through the hearts of believers, bringing life to all that receive His touch. God anoints people that love Him more than they love their own lives, and that love others as themselves. As we open our hearts to love others God's anointing flows through us. When we close our hearts to others and grieve the Holy Spirit the flow stops. (1 John 3:17 NKJV) But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV) Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is given through people to demonstrate God's love and power. Christ means the "Anointed One". Because Christ is in us the same anointing that He had on earth we also have. (Luke 4:18-19 NKJV) "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; (19) To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." 1. The anointing is given to preach the gospel to the poor 2. The anointing is given to heal and restore people 3. The anointing is given to proclaim freedom to the captives 4. The anointing is given to open blind eyes 5. The anointing is given to set people free 6. The anointing flows in God's timing and proclaims God's timing God bless |
