121 | Is the Raptur a real event? | John 14:3 | ebrain | 169742
Yes it is, please read John 14:2-3. also 1 st Thess 4:13-18, and 1 st Cor 15:51-58. The problem, is that some people think that the second advent is in two parts seperated in time, whilst others think that everything takes place at one moment in time. The question that I would like to ask is this. How is it possible for every eye to see the thief in the night, if there is only one event? |

123 | How old is God | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168558
For God to have had a beginning, someone other than God would have had to have created Him, and that is an impossibility. What I am not able to understand is why this question was asked in the first place? |

124 | How old is God | Rev 1:8 | ebrain | 168556
Read Revelation 1:8, also 21:6, and 22:13. "I am the Alpha, and the Omega", the beginning and the end. In order to have an age, He would have had to have a beginning, Please tell me how one who is the beginning, could have had a beginning?. I find it much easier to think of God as having no beginning, than to think of Him having a beginning. What He is saying here is that He existed before anything else did, see John 1:3. |

125 | why does Leviticus have such harsh laws? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168465
In order to indicate the utter abhorrence that God has of the way in which fallen man behaves, but He is also a forgiving God see John 8:2-11, and John 4:16-18, when Jesus does not condemn the woman who had a number of husbands, also Luke 7:36-50.
126 | God's presence in us incerase , decrease | Eph 5:18 | ebrain | 168462
His presence neither increases, nor decreases, it is just that you become aware of His presence to a greater , or lesser extant, as you allow, or don't allow Him to have right of way in your life. Eph 5:18, above is written in the Greek presant continual tense, and would be better translated as "be being filled". Take a look at how Jesus did this by reading John 5:30, i.e. "not my will but thine be done". |

127 | In heaven are we male or female? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 168346
The way in which we will be like the Angels when we get to Heaven is that as they live for ever, and do not therefore need to reproduce their own kind, neither will we. For this reason sex is no longer necessary, and our resurection bodies will therefore not have primary, or secondary generative organs. |

132 | Can salvation be lost? | Phil 2:12 | ebrain | 167547
No, salvation cannot be lost, read John 10:27-30, and Luke 15:4-7, this passage takes care of thoes persons who say "Ah yes but you can take yourself out of His hand". We know that all these sheep are christians, because they have no need of repentance, as they have allready repented, including the one who wandered off, Jesus found him, he repented again, and was brought back and returned to the sheep fold, (Jesus's hand). Regarding Philippians 2:12, note that the first word is "Therefore", now whenever you come across this word, ask yourself, what is therefore there for, well it is asking you to regard the previous passage, in this case verses 5 to 11, and to apply same to yourself as explained in verse 13. Verses 5-11, explain how Jesus behaved towards His Father. You are required to adopt the same attitude, and verse 13 tells you how this is done. Note the word "you" is plural, but it can also be considered in the same way as Paul does in Gal 2:20, "Christ/God lives in me". Verse 13 tells you that it is God who is at work in you, both making His will known, and then It is He who does it, but He will only do it if you allow Him to do it. How to let Him do His will is explained by Jesus in John 5:19. and 30, also in John 14:8-10, especially verse 10. you may also find Acts 2:22, helpfull in this respect. I hope that the above is of help. |

133 | how will i be known to others in heaven? | 1 Cor 15:53 | ebrain | 167543
Peter who had never seen Moses, or Elijah knew who they were when he met them, see Matt 17:4. How He knew, Scripture does not tell us, but I feel sure that when you get there, you will have no problem, but here is a question for you. Will men and women both have the same type of bodies, that is to say having no primary, or secondary sex organs, as there is no need for reproduction after we are resurrected? |

134 | How did they know it was a prophesy? | Hos 11:1 | ebrain | 167489
All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, therefore Matthew wrote down what the Holy Spirit told him to write. This also shows that Bible verses can have more than one application, but remember that it is the Holy Spirit who gives the interpretation to the reader/listener. |

135 | did jesus decend into hell and retriev | Luke 23:46 | ebrain | 167369
No He did not. the Scripture normally quoted to indicate that He did is 1st Peter 3:18-20, but this only refers to the Spirit of Christ in Naoh preaching to the people who were alive in Noah's day, but who are now in prison, see also 2nd Peter 2:4-5. Don't forget that Jesus said "It is finished" before He died, therefore no need to go to Hell. |

138 | is there proof in scripture of that? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 167220
Have a look at Genesie 1:1-2, in verse 1 we are introduced to God the creator, and in verse 2, to the Holy Spirit. John 1:3, tells us that all things were made through Jesus, and without Him was not anything made that was made. I have no difficulty in seeing all three persons of the Godhead active in the creation. In Colossians at 2:9, we are told that in Him, that is in the Lord Jesus the whole fullness of Diety dwells bodily, that is to say all there is of the Father, all there is of the Son, and all there is of the Holy Spirit, dwelling whithin the person of the Lord Jesus. |

139 | Did more than one God make man? | Bible general Archive 3 | ebrain | 167183
No the Lord is refering to what we call the Trinity, one God in three persons, this word is made up of two parts, Tri, which means three, and unity, which means one. If you want to know more about the Trinity, then go to the right of this page, and in the space headed Word(s) or ID No, type in the word Trinity, and then hit search. |

140 | Where in the bible does it say that Jesu | Rev 1:18 | ebrain | 167165
There are two passages of Scripture, that people may have heard read out, and cannot remember what exactly was word for word said, and are as a result confused. These verses are found at Matthew 16:18-19, and 1st Peter 3:18-20. Jesus of course did not go to hell, He said "It is finished", before He died, therefore no visit to hell was required. What Peter is refering to in these verses is that it was the Spirit of Jesus preaching through Noah, to the people who were alive in Noah's day, and who are now in prison awaiting judgment. Peter has similar thoughts in mind at 2nd Peter 2:4-5. I hope that this might be of some help. |
