121 | What is people sin? | Luke 15:7 | Pastor Glenn | 67268
confusing, God created Lucifer (Satan) as a spirit like Himself. The angels had a choice, but no Savior from the bad choice. When man sinned due to Satan's temptation, he made a choice that by God's justice required swift death sentence. Unlike the angels that sinned, we have a savior. Satan's temptation helps to force us to choose Jesus or Satan before we die. Without pain and suffering, we would not see a need to choose Jesus Christ. God cares very much and does everything to help us make the right choice: Luke 15:1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them." 3So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 4"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. 122 | Why does Jesus have 2 genealogies? | Rom 1:18 | Pastor Glenn | 67243
ateo, Were you once a Christian? Jesus Christ is God. The bible is the true word from the one true God. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. There is no excuse. Pastor Glenn |

123 | offspring of Adam and Eve | Gen 4:17 | Pastor Glenn | 66939
Freebyrd, We must realize that Cain's generation was living to be over 900 years old. We also must realize that the bible does not say how many children in all that Adam had. I am sure that after migrating to the land of Nod that Cain met many relatives that he did not know. Notice that Adam was 130 when Seth was born. There could have been thousands of nephews, nieces, grand, great grand, and great great grand nieces by then that Cain never saw before. Notice also that Cain built a city and named it after his son Enoch. Well if people left home and built cities then that implies that his people were multiplying over hundreds of years. Just imagine if Thomas Jefferson were still alive and having children for over two hundred years! Wouldn't there be a huge town full of Jefferson’s today? :-) Pastor Glenn |

124 | Aborted babies saved? | 1 Cor 7:14 | Pastor Glenn | 66738
jo par, We see many things only in part. When it comes to mercy, justice, and righteousness, I already know that He is saving far more people than you or I would. The Lord is totally just and righteous and His mercy endures forever: Psalm 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. In the end, even the angels of God will declare His righteous judgements. They are not "yes" men. They are truly watching and recognizing how wonderful God is and how He is working every detail of life, as well as, His knowledge of the past, present and future to save us from sin. But some people just keep making the choice for Satan time after time: Revelation 16:5And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord,[2] The One who is and who was and who is to be,[3] Because You have judged these things. 6For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For[4] it is their just due." 7And I heard another from[5] the altar saying, "Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments." Pastor Glenn |

125 | What feature of their births did they do | 1 Sam 1:20 | Pastor Glenn | 66685
Their parents were previously baren: Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" 18And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!" 19Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. |

126 | Does God lead us into temtation? | James 1:13 | Pastor Glenn | 66315
cwade, First notice these related scriptures: James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Proverbs 3 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Since all things work together for good and God makes a way of escape. Then our self preparation prayer should be to prepare us to follow God's escape route. Therefore "Lead us not into temptation" is so that our judgement is not so clouded by lust the we cannot see the way of escape. Pastor Glenn |

127 | Which teaching | Matt 14:29 | Pastor Glenn | 65835
mbooker, Be warned that this is a subject that some on this forum hate. Any study of faith healing or miracles of faith is labeled by some as giving credibility to Word of Faith theology. It is said that Word of Faith teachings today 1. tries to tell God what He must do for us. 2. says that our words are containers that give us power to change reality whether God wants us to or not. 3. says simply "name it and claim it" prosperity. 4. says to pray "thy will be done" is a sin. Even after I denied all of these teachings, I have been accused of being stubborn and ignorant for not reading more books about these false teachings. I chose Matthew 14:29 as a starting scripture in hope that proper interpretation (Jesus' faith teaching) would dispel false interpretation (Word of Faith). By studying the proper interpretation we should "become so familiar with the truth, that when a counterfeit looms on the horizon, it will be easy to spot." Enter this thread at your own risk. 128 | Question about the "ZERO" theory. | Dan 1:4 | Pastor Glenn | 65788
zerotheory, Within your original thread you will notice question marks near a few of the replies if you scroll to the bottom of the window. You should notice two set of questions from me. From your original post I was wondering if you were a christian (by accepting Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, as your saviour). By the way, I think that you may find the book of Daniel quite interesting. Daniel 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. |

129 | Bible facts on retarded kids? | Luke 18:17 | Pastor Glenn | 65599
jadedust, Whether mentally or physically retarded, they are destined to have an easier time accepting Christ and receiving eternal life. Spiritually, we are all retarded. We were designed with a spiritual nature that is missing until we accept Jesus. Adam and Eve lost their glorious nature the day that they sinned. Also, retarded children by definition will always have a dependency that gives them a meek and humble nature that the rich and independed of us lack. So we are all born retarded. Luke 18:15 Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 17Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. Luke 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 130 | Pastor not visiting the sick and Widows? | James 1:27 | Pastor Glenn | 65421
Mae64, Here is what the bible says: James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Acts 6 Seven Chosen to Serve 1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists,[1] because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. 2Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. 3Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; 4but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." Mat 25:34Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' 41"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 44"Then they also will answer Him,[4] saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45Then He will answer them, saying, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Ezekiel 34 Irresponsible Shepherds 1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2"Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: "Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. 4The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them. God, the True Shepherd 11 "For thus says the Lord GOD: "Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. 131 | Heart and mind | Deut 6:5 | Pastor Glenn | 65166
eagle11, Here are my personal definitions: Heart, Ones Deepest emotions and desires that connects us with our surroundings, as well as, to others. Our heart determines how much we respond emotionally to what is happening around us. Mind, Ones process of setting Priories for decision making. Therefore, I would say that the heart affects the mind and vice versa. There needs to be the right amont of feedback between heart and mind for each and everything in our lives. Mankind is extremely complex. Maybe this is all controlled by our soul since the soul is separate from the heart and mind? Or maybe this question is too deep for me? Luke 10:27 So he answered and said, ""You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,'[10:27 Deuteronomy 6:5] and "your neighbor as yourself."'[ Leviticus 19:18] Pastor Glenn |

134 | do not want what belongs to other people | Matt 5:32 | Pastor Glenn | 65142
Sharonawd, Listen to "Justme". Stay away. Sin brings curses with it: Genesis 20 3But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, "Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man's wife." 4But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, "Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also? 5Did he not say to me, "She is my sister'? And she, even she herself said, "He is my brother.' In the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands I have done this." 6And God said to him in a dream, "Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her. 7Now therefore, restore the man's wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours." 8So Abimelech rose early in the morning, called all his servants, and told all these things in their hearing; and the men were very much afraid. 9And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, "What have you done to us? How have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done." 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 136 | Jews rqrd to follow the law in the O.T. | Gal 3:24 | Pastor Glenn | 64763
butch, Gal 3 19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. |

kristi4252725, 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 139 | Mt 1:16, Luke 3:23 different fathers? | Luke 3:23 | Pastor Glenn | 64230
Robert, Joseph was the son "-in-law" of Heli. The women's names were rarely mentioned, it just was not considered proper. However, the line traced through Mary was the most important to show that the prophecy to Adam of "the seed of the woman" had been fulfilled along with the prophecy that He would come through the line of King David. " Matthew's list of the forefathers of Jesus showed that Christ was the son of Abraham, in whom all the families of the earth are blessed, and heir to the throne of David; but Luke shows that Jesus was the Seed of the woman that should break the serpent's head, and traces the line up to Adam, beginning with Eli, or Heli, the father, not of Joseph, but of Mary. The seeming differences between the two evangelists in these lists of names have been removed by learned men. But our salvation does not depend upon our being able to solve these difficulties, nor is the Divine authority of the Gospels at all weakened by them. The list of names ends thus, "Who was the son of Adam, the son of God;" that is, the offspring of God by creation. Christ was both the son of Adam and the Son of God, that he might be a proper Mediator between God and the sons of Adam, and might bring the sons of Adam to be, through him, the sons of God. All flesh, as descended from the first Adam, is as grass, and withers as the flower of the field; but he who partakes of the Holy Spirit of life from the Second Adam, has that eternal happiness, which by the gospel is preached unto us." namonga, cankerworm is in KJV Joel 1 (KJV) 4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. Joel 2 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.(KJV) Joel 1 (NKJV) 4What the chewing locust[1] left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten. 25"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust,[5] My great army which I sent among you. 26You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. 27Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. (NKJV) Pastor Glenn |
