125 | Is 1 Thess 4:13-18 a rapture reference? | 1 Thess 4:16 | Chusarcik | 62314
I'm doing a study series by Skip Heitzig of Calvary connection. He refers to First Thessalonians 4:13-18 as an example of the rapture of the Christians, yet when I read these verses regarding the coming of the Lord, in my NIV Bible I see no mention of the event, in fact I only see where it states that there will still be some believers living when Christ returns and that the dead in Christ rise first and the remaining believers will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. Am I missing something here? thanks, Chusarcik |

128 | Is praying required before every meal? | 1 Thess 5:17 | Chusarcik | 59423
Are Christ followers supposed to pray out loud before EVERY meal? It seems like a ritual to me rather than a heart felt prayer and I remember reading a scripture somewhere in the new testament that we ought not to pray out loud in public such as the pharisees but rather in private. I know of Bible examples of praying before eating but should we make it a required rule? Isn't that being legalistic? Thanks, Chusarcik |
